Every time I go in here (and today was the last), I'm blown away how rude the staff is. As soon as you enter the store, before you can even gather your thoughts, they aggressively descend on you as if you'd planned on shoplifting. "CAN I HELP YOU??" (Also they all look like your 80 year old retired pastor grandfather who thought alcohol was the devil's drink and beat his wife with a stick because the Bible told him to. Either that or a Trump-sympathizin', Roy Moore-votin' douche. I digress.)
Today my inquiry about a liquor was met with a smirk and condescending raise of the eyebrow, as follows:
Me: Hi I'm looking for this Christmas eggnog liquor called... (blah blah can't remember name).
Grumpy grandpa: That's a *special order*
Me: Oh ok. Well...is it possible to order it?
Grumpy grandpa (clearly annoyed): it wouldn't be here before Christmas and would take 6-8 weeks to get here.
Me: hmmm ok so... (realizing the absurdity of waiting 2 months for a liquor store to order a bottle of liquor, and sensing aggression from the Grandpa, I drew a blank and just wanted to teleport myself out of this awkward liquor store situation, or either be sucker-punched by an intruder à la McLovin. I digress again.)
I can't actually remember anything else about this human encounter. I might have just run out of the store in tears and could be typing this in a PTSD-fueled fugue. Or perhaps was, in fact, sucker-punched. Maybe I was hypnotized. WAS IT ALL A BAD DREAM?!? I hope so cause this place needs to burn.
