I'm so happy I chose McCollum's to reupholster my sleeper sofa. It's an old sofa that we purchased in 1997. I have always loved it, but it has been used and abused over the years and the fabric and cushions were torn up by dogs. It was moved to a spare bedroom years ago, but I could never bring myself to get rid of it. I went to McCollum's to talk about reupholstering it and explained what I was looking for in a new fabric. Irene helped me find a great fabric that was soft and comfortable, but very durable, and it matched the pillow cover I brought in as a guide. They worked with my schedule for both pick-up and drop-off. They did an amazing job recovering the sofa and making new cushions for it. I found Paul and Irene here on Yelp and decided to go with their company over other upholstery companies due to negative reviews. I am so glad I decided to go with them because I could not be happier with how my cushions turned out. I have to admit it's a little bit overwhelming when you walk in as there is literally fabric everywhere! Do not let this turn you away! We bought these chairs about two years ago and the cushions that came with them became quickly tattered. I brought these cushions to McCollum's and they gave me a quote after picking out some fabric from their shop. My fabric took 3 weeks to come in, in which they let me know that it arrived by text message and gave me an eta on when they would be done. I picked them up today and I'm absolutely thrilled! They did my sofa and chaise. I have issues with the button sinking down into my chaise causing holes. I first alerted them of this issue and Paul quickly dismissed it as 'people sitting on the edge of the chaise'I pay 2k for reupholstering and my family cannot sit on the furniture???? They refuse to admit it's the fabric. Anyway it got so bad a hole developed and they came out. Paul brings up again people sitting on the chaise causing this issue and related his daughter jumping on their couch when he seen my little boy. Me and my husband told him we do not allow for our kid to jump on furniture. They semi fixed it. I say semi because it does not look the same. And now another button have sunken in. I sent a concerning email last week. NO RESPONSE I made a bad choice in choosing this husband and wife team. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. They made some box cushions with geometric fabric and the seams and pattern match up perfectly! Then I gave them a challenging project where I had a bad upholstery job in Canada. The upholster in Canada ruined the chairs and changed the shape completely! The club chairs are heirloom Henredon pieces from my husbands Mom. I showed Irene and Paul old photos of what the chairs use to look like. We picked them up recently and they are exactly like the old photos. They basically had to reconstruct the entire chair. My husband came to pick them up with me and he was so happy and started to tell stories of him sitting in these chairs when he was a baby. I can't recommend them enough. read more

We (and our family and friends) have used McCollum's for years and I can't say enough about their quality work! They just finished reupholstering our 20+ year old custom built sofa with a solid frame and I'm so happy that we decided to reupholster instead of buying new. The upholstery work and sofa is absolutely beautiful! Also, we have a leather, wood trimmed side chair. It is a timeless piece that came from an estate sale. We dropped it off at McCollum's a couple of weeks ago because the fine yellow gold leather started separating at the seams and we thought it was beyond repair. We were scheduled to stop by their shop today to pick new leather but I received a call from Irene beforehand to let me know that she was able to sew the leather seams back together after removing the brass tacks one by one and replacing them with very similar ones in order to maintain the same classic look. I had them refinish and reupholster 2 mid century modern chairs in an abstract black and white swirl pattern. They are stunning!!! When placed next to each other the attention to detail really stands out. Each black or white pattern is located in the EXACT same spot on both chairs. It's simply remarkable. Simply great work. They reupholstered a sofa last year changing the style slightly for more contemporary look. This year 2 club chairs and an ottoman to compliment the sofa. Again they were able to update the look giving a cleaner less traditional style to the pieces. Irene and Paul know their stuff. Be sure to check with them on required yardage before purchasing fabrics; often they don't need as much as published guides. My projects were ready before the estimated deliver dates too. read more

Work was adequate, but I was disappointed that after being assured my chair and ottoman would be returned by the date of a party I was hosting, McCollum's did not finish the job on time, despite having had over a month and a half to complete the work. And they made absolutely no apologies or compensation for not finishing by promised date. Disappointing. read more
