i would be giving negative stars if i could. my boyfriends dog, roscoe (the best dog ever) was brought in 2 days after he had gotten into trash that had chicken bones in it (the vet was informed of this). vet proceeded to simply press on roscoe's belly and since the very sweet, docile dog didnt react negatively, the vet said there wasnt even any need for an xray and he was fine and could go home. the very next day, the dog dropped dead in the living room. this was extremely traumatic for me and especially my boyfriend and his family, as everyone loved the dog. he was only 5. do not bring your pets here. read more

This clinic did such an amazing job with my first dog that we kept making the 20 min drive. Needless to say the new staff is horrible. Especially the office staff. My dog has made 3 visits for aspiration pneumonia and they are just now telling us after 3 visits she's a diabetic. Each visit was 300 bucks and we don't have that money to pay 900 in a two week period. So the doctor we spoke with said we could set up a payment plan to pay half now and half in 2 weeks. Well, today I've been sitting outside the clinic and have run out of gas waiting for my animal, just be told they cannot release my animal without the full payment, and for us to call back. So we try and call back, no answer multiple times. Multiple multiple calls later and the receptionist walks outside, when I try to call her over she looks, tolls her eyes and walks right back inside. Does it ever occur to you that I just want my dog back place is very money motivated. Updated review: when I picked up my dog they told me she was eating and everything. Evidentially this wasn't the case because my dog wasn't eating, and could barely move. It's funny because we ran out of money to pay them and that's when they told us to pick her up. My dog is dying and this vet won't even transfer the records over for another vet to possibly save my dogs life! This clinic was once great when independently owned, now it's just a sham of a vet. read more

First off, I never leave reviews or write negative things, but I was disrespected today. Let me say I have had wonderful experiences here when my dog, Grizzly, (a chow mix) was a puppy. But now, that he is 50 lbs, apparently he is a "caution dog" He didn't snap or bark one time while we were in the waiting room or any prior visits. They tell me he needs a muzzle. I shrug and say it's never been an issue before but okay.. They proceed to try to muzzle him as he barks not wanting his mouth covered. I finally had enough as he clearly wasn't having the muzzle. (Thought to myself shouldn't have I been told from a prior visit that he was a "caution dog" or is that something you just decide?) DAN GLASGOW! I took my dog there 7/2/19 because the website said open until 9pm, walk-ins welcome. My dog had just cut her throat somehow when I got in from work. When I saw it I raced 15 miles to get there. I arrived at 8:32pm - earlier but I stood in line while another lady was being helped. When I got to the desk the elderly receptionist told me that they couldn't see me because they stop taking dogs at 8:30pm. Nowhere on the web does it say that. It says closes at 9pm. Yesterday, we had to take our kitten to the vet because he seemed very sick. It was a Saturday at 4pm, so we were expecting to have to call an emergency clinic. I looked up McAdory's hours and was shocked to see they were open until 8 on a weekend. We packed up and headed straight there expecting to have a long wait since we were walk-ins. We were signed in, met with the doctor, checked out and medicine ready all under an hour. How convenient for something that can sometimes be a dreaded visit! I am so thankful for their flexible hours and outstanding services. read more

Being from out of town you have to rely on the limited people you know and of course the service you get. I started taking my fur babies to McAdory out of convenience then someone told my husband that it was a bad clinic and we should go to Hope Clinic so we did - Guess where we are back to taking our fur babies yep! McAdory. I personally did not like Hope, there is no vet to talk to, they just take your animal back than return when they are done and no chance to talk with a vet as you would talk to your children's pediatrician because like children fur babies don't have a voice. Our one fur baby has cancer and there is no way I would ever consider taking her on her final months or years anywhere else and that goes for her brother who has also been served well at the McAdory clinis. There are on or two I believe naturally just crabby employees there but guess what they could be working in a diamond store and probably still have that attitude. I don't like it when someone is supposed to be customer servicing and is cranky but they get the job done and that's all that really matters. I have never once came across a pleasant employee at Hope clinic ever, at least McAdory just has a few heres and theres of cranky employee unlike Hope it's an effort for any of the front desk employees to talk kindly or smile. read more

Great Place! Love the hours and service received at every visit!

Best vet office ever!!! This is the only vet office my husband and I will take our babies too. The office staff is always very quick and professional, no matter how stressed and busy they might be. We've been to them with a new kitten, our 4 year old Goldendoodle, and our 1 year old lab.. They have all been treated very well. The lab was neutered there and they did a great job, and answered any/all questions we had. We brought our kitten as a 3 week rescue and they explained how we should care for her, things to look out for, and what her health schedule would look like from now-1 year. They are also very attentive over the phone. My calls are always returned by both office staff and the veterinarian when I ask to speak to them.. I cannot stress enough what a great facility this is to care for your animals!! read more

Office staff attitudes are hit or miss, and if your pet has some sort of life threatening illness or injury, and you can't pay 1K when you walk in the door, this isn't the place for you. They will hold your pet for ransom until you can pay the entire bill in full. Won't even split the payment in half. Go to Hope, they care about your pets and will work with you if your bill is rather large. We went to McAdory because it's less than a mile from our house and our dog was very ill. When I tried to split the bill in half the vet, Armstrong, told me they don't do that. When I said Hope would have worked with us. He said we should've gone to Hope. Wasn't the least bit concerned with actually giving me a full report on our dog that had been there for a week and a half. Just wanted payment in full, or no dog. He didn't even have a decent tone about him, it's one thing to stick to your policies, it's another to be horribly rude while doing so. There are so many other ways this situation could have been handled. He said I couldn't expect to run up a 1K bill and come in and not pay it. I explained I didn't say I wasn't paying the bill, I simply need to split it in half. I also told him that I suppose we felt like a vet may have some compassion for a family that had such a sick dog, to which he replied "we do have compassion, we kept your dog alive." He said we should have checked on the bill and they would have transferred our dog to another facility. Unbelievably rude, terrible bedside manner. Like I said, it's one thing to stick to your policies, but go take a customer service training course to learn how to handle yourself. So, unless you can pay in full, or want to apply for a credit card that will pay your vet bill (a separate company, not affiliated with the vet...and the vet loses a portion of their payment to the credit card company, unlike splitting a payment with two checks...common sense), not the place for a terribly sick pet. read more

I used this vet for my dogs second ACL surgery and they did great. However, I just tried to take a dog I rescued in for possible kennel cough. Two hours later and the people who came in after me got seen before me. TWO HOURS. I heard the people in the back saying I don't know which patient is next. Well, not mine! I will NEVER take my dog back. I mean kennel cough can get transferred to all of my animals and they sure didn't care! They will not get another dime of my money. read more

My dog , who is a big part of our family, had surgery 5 days ago at this vet. When we picked him up, there was a long wait because there was only one vet working. Now , 5 days later ,he is shaking and has diarrhea so I called them. Again , there is only one vet working,and I can't get anyone to call me back. The staff was rude and very uncaring as if it were my fault they are understaffed. I will not use this vet again and will let my many friends and associates know about the treatment my puppy received. read more

This place is great! You can walk-in with your pet and their hours are long so that is very comforting. The prices are great and all I think I've met all the vets there since we go so much with our Pomeranians and they are all very nice. The only reason to not give 5 stars is that they are slower than some vet clinics I've been to before. I would imagine it is because a lot of ppl walk in with their pets so it is kind of like first come first serve type deal. I did have to wait a long time to drop off/pick up my dogs when I boarded them like another Yelper experienced and I was the only person in the waiting room. Aside from that when my dogs trachea collapsed during the night they got her in first thing and got her back and on oxygen quick, so I know I can count on them for emergencies and that is what really matters. When you go give yourself plenty of time to be here since the wait can be long, but it is worth it since they take good care of your fur babies! read more

Great prices for procedures compared to other clinics in the Tuscaloosa and Birmingham area. Office staff can be irritable though, and I had to wait over and hour and a half to pick up my pup. Hour and a half just for pick up?!! We were not happy campers no matter what the prices are. read more

I boarded my dog here twice, and would NEVER go back. The women at the front desk were always rude and snippy. When we picked up our dog, his bedding, blankets stunk, and he is now fearful of a broom. If you love your pet, don't take him here. read more
