My family and I have been enjoying the food here since the day it opened so many years ago. I don't know why I've never posted a review on here...an oversight on my part. The employees are very nice and they all work so hard to make the customers happy. The food is always on point and the strawberry margaritas are the best, especially when Chuy makes mine. We had a party of 9. When we arrived we were told there would be approximately 15 min wait as there were 5 ladies that we're occupying the large table. They had already paid their tab. We figured it would work out. We sat and waited for nearly 45 mins. We finally requested that they seat us at a 4 and a 5 table so we could finally eat. They ignored our request. Seated multiple other 4 and 5 party tables. Horrible customer service. I would have preferred to be turned away because they couldn't accommodate us in a timely manner. We wasted 45 mins, we had young children with us. And ended up all going separate ways to find food. Ughhhh. read more

This is my favorite Mexican place in the area. It has the cheesy atmosphere but it doesn't have the low-quality food notorious to those places. The staff is incredible. Every time I go they're very attentive. They bring water without asking (Thank You!) They take your order promptly if you'd like it. The only thing I'd recommend is when they drop off the check to remind you to go up to the front to pay. Sometimes I'm not paying attention and I'll completely forget and just sit there. Food is delicious. This place has by far one of the best Mole sauces. Love the enchilada sauce. Price is also very very reasonable. My and my brother can literally split this chicken appetizer (I don't think they're taquitos but the name is slipping my mind right now). It's 10 bucks total and fills both of us up. The extra large enchiladas are huge and definitely two meals for under 10 bucks as well. read more

Spending the night in Central Point, we looked to Yelp for dinner recommendations. We're glad that we did because we had an enjoyable dinner at the highly rated Mazatlan. The service was fast and friendly, plus the prices were moderate. I had the Chipotle Chicken and my wife had the Carnitas Chicken. Good ambient beautifully decorated with a Mexican authentic details and average food presentation overall. My two start review is based on my experience with the server. We were 4 ppl in our table two Spanish looking and two not Spanish the server approached and looked at me, and immediately spoke in Spanish to me ( which is not big deal for me) I responded in English due as respect to my extended family whom don't understand Spanish and the server in a rude tone asked but you speak Spanish and I said yes, and he continued talking to me in Spanish and for second time I cont in English and he continued overseas the fact that I was involving everyone in the conversation or menu selection. He was rude and annoying. I ordered a blue moon beer, which I didn't get it. When I asked him , about the beer ten min after; he said: "oh we don't have that" He could at least let me know that and don't let me wait for ten minutes, thinking that he forgot about it. I was craving for some fish tacos, I read the menu and they offered fish tacos ($14) for two tacos, decent price due to is a complete meal with rice and beans. The description is two fish tacos with lettuce tomato and onions you assumed that if is lettuce on it it's a deep fried fish kind of taco, however what I got was a saggy taco with cooked tomato sauce. I pointed it out to the server and he engaged in an argument about that "this is the fish taco here, period!" ... I won't bring my money in a place that they don't have customer service training. Parse it down into its separate parts and its not stunning- cramped seating, forgetful wait staff, loud atmosphere, long wait time, pricy entrees... However, the food was not bad, and the salsa was tasty. Some of the food seemed precooked/old or microwaved. Taco shells were limp, not crisp. We stopped in for take-out on the way home from a long drive. It was so crowded we had to wait a long time! There were a lot of people waiting for take-out. I suggest, if they are doing a big take-out business, have a place for customers to wait. It was all standing, and in the way of those coming in the door. The food was fine. Nothing extra special. If you haven't been to Mazatlan Grill you need to go. We had the best service and the food and drinks were outstanding. I had the Shrimp Mojo Ajo and it was so yummy w/ flour tortillas. At the cash register, they charge you more than what the menu price is. All they say is that it's a "menu error" and the recently all of their prices have increased. This is not an error - this is laziness in keeping your menu up to date. Manager was spoken to, but they insisted the menu price could not be honored. Okay, so I'm a little, actually really REALLY upset about this. I used to come to mazatlan grill a lot. More than I should have. I used to think their nachos were the best in town. Well, I just went back for the first time in a year due to living in Medford, and in VERY disappointed in it. First off, at a Mexican restuaunt your suppose to get chips and salsa right off the bat, and that wasn't done, AND I WAS SITTING RIGHT IN FRONT WHERE THEY COULD OBVIOUSLY SEE ME! So then I ordered the nachos as usual, and I was disappointed. Hardly any chips where I actually had to ask for more, and it was over powered by toppings. Not cheese, toppings. A huge glob of sour cream and guacamole which killed it. To add on to that I also asked for a side of cilantro and never received it. To add on to it, I was leaving and heard how one couple didn't want a certain server because of bad past experiences. All in all I'm VERY disappointed in what was once my favorite resturaunt. Visited for early dinner Sunday. This place is huge inside and crowded. When we arrived large parties where getting ready to leave. Service the women working their host and those bring chips water etc.where really Hustling! Our male waiter on the other hand disappeared for long periods of time. Don't you think soup when ordered it should be brought first? The wait was ridiculous. Then everything thing came. Food- Soup too salty meatballs OK. Albondigas in AZ is served w rice a tortilla and slice of lime. No way Jose it was over 6$. Salty not clean tasting. Had to tract down one of the gals for some lime to cut through the salt. The the rest of the order was a combo plate Tostadas and taco rice and beans. The taco meat close to Jack in the box. Shredded beef Chimchaga was flavorful rice and beans heaped up on both plates nothing up write home about. Again there was a struggle to get boxes to go and a check. Girls to the rescue while our waiter was no where to be seen. Don't know what is the attraction to this place and don't care, I won't be back. read more

Finding good restaurants in the Rogue Valley, that will happily accommodate a reservation for our large group (usually 18-25) has been difficult, to say the least. However, Mazatlan Grill very willingly took our reservation, had tables put together, and greeted us kindly. The food was delicious and quite plentiful. Our compliments to those who prepared and coordinated our meals to come out almost simultaneously! However, the star of the evening was our server, Carlos. Not only was he there immediately to welcome us, but to take drink orders as we drifted in. He was extremely personable and didn't blink an eye at 18 separate checks. He then delivered plates to the right gals, only having to confirm once or twice. He was very engaging & entertaining. When it came time to settle our bills, he did so efficiently and correctly (cudos should also go to the cashier who processed credit cards). We thoroughly enjoyed our time. We'll be back! read more

Just spending one night near Medford, OR, we decided to eat at Mazatlan Grill, in the corner of a strip mall/shopping center, which was recommended on the internet. It was fantastic! From the outside, it did not look like too much, but the inside decor was certainly Mexican -- great tiles, etc. The service was excellent, too. We had Maggies for $7 each.
