This place was great at taking the day of appointment for me and my friend. The first room has about 5 lay down beds for the foot massages. They do have curtains for privacy if needed. I opted for a 60min foot massage and they do the typical massage routine of head, shoulders, arms, hands and then legs/feet. The woman who attended to me began rough on my scalp and continued to be a bit rough on my arms. It felt like she gave my arms a "titty twister," - she would push on my bicep area and then twist. I do NOT bruise easily and I knew absolutely that would be bruised. See pic for evidence. She spent about 35mins on my feet and shins but did a plain routine over and over on the same areas, instead of massaging everywhere. Disappointing. She had me flip over and she did some elbow to my butt area and back and then it was over. No massage on the lower back of the legs. Again, disappointing. My friend had an all body massage and she asked them to focus on her hip and they did not. Disappointing. I was done first and waited in the front area for my friend. She came out and one of the women basically yelled at her while she said, "EXCUSE ME!!!!" And pointed to the tips sign. We both were shocked by this approach- especially since they were all about whispering for a quiet ambiance. Sheesh. My friend told her she left money for the lady in the room. The loud lady sort of understood and said oh okay. We both agreed that this wasn't the best massage but it also wasn't the worst we've ever had. Idk if I'll return tbh. My sister and I visited for a 60 minute foot reflexology. Was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. Couple items to keep in mind, I would suggest making an appointment, requested 2 females and they were able to accommodate. They do ask for payment up front. Most spas do nowadays. When you speak to the receptionist explain the pressure you prefer and she will communicate it to the employee. The individual who gave me the foot massage spoke perfect English but the other employee did not. Not a big issue unless you are telling them "not so hard". Overall, price reasonable, facility was clean and foot reflexology was extremely good. Will be going back again! read more

Mayflower Spa is a hidden gem for me in Escondido. I've gotten a massage here the past 4-5 times and it's always been a good, relaxing experience. The prices are absolutely affordable making it easy to attempt a bi-weekly commitment to myself to get a massage or at the very least a once a month thing. The business itself is kept clean looking and it's cozy in there. Recently tried this place out. Was kinda shocked with how many negative reviews it had or bad experiences. Mine was great after a long run I did my body was sore. As soon as I walked in was welcomed and I explained this was my first time. They happily went through their variety of massages I managed to get a little over an hour. She did manage to leave a couple times mid massage but she assured me I would get my time. The woman provided just the right amount of pressure always checking up if she was being too rough. Also she was very careful with my feet being that I was so sore she put light pressure to such areas. Definitely my go to for soreness. read more

It's obvious when someone is leaving or entering the business (bells on the door) No one was present as we entered which was understandable just from many experiences. Ive had alot of massauges in the past and this was by far the worst I've ever had. Its the middle of the night right now and I'm awake due to the pain I'm in from the massauge I had there. From the moment I walked in I had an uneasy, unwelcome feeling. There is a very strong language barrier, so no matter how many times I kept asking the lady to be softer that never happened. There is no way she was a trained professional and I was drenched in cold oil. The lady pulled my underwear down past my butt and I was in shock and had to tell her no. It was my first time here and I liked the massage I just didn't like how I wasn't asked if I preferred a female or a male to massage me once I was naked from stomach up I noticed a guy walked in ready to massage me and I felt so uncomfortable! He started to massage from my neck down to my butt and I didn't like it. 30 minutes into my massage was over I walked out and the young lady at the front asked if I wanted to tip. I don't think that's a good idea to be asking customers to tip there workers. It should be up to us customers whether we want to tip or not. I pretty much tipped a man for massaging my butt the majority of the time until I had to tell him to stop and to continue massaging me just from my tailBone up! I will not be coming back here. Massage was very aggressive, too much elbow and arm with jerky movement. I asked him to ease up and use more finger/ thumb but he didn't understand. I was completely bruised on my neck and shoulders the next day. I've gone to more foot spa/ Thai massage places than I can count over the years and understand the style however this is not the way to help people, you can actually cause more damage and hurt people as well as move toxins around and cause you to feel sick. It's important that these practitioners are careful and at least somewhat know how to work on the muscles. read more
