Paid $50 to play 18 on a weekend and it was not worth the high price. The course was very dry, the fairways had lots of dry patches with no grass, there were only small patches of groomed fairway grass. Dry greens, holes not well groomed, just dirt cart paths that were not well maintained, and the carts were not well maintained either the brakes in my cart did not work well at all. Overall the course should have cost more like $25-35 for the condition it was in. I wouldn't recommend going here, you can go to other courses around the area such as Hawley that are the same condition if not nicer for much cheaper. read more

Booked a tee time in advance, but when we showed up to the course they didn't have us down. Employees didn't work with us at all and were not apologetic one bit. Highly recommend if you play at this course to call multiple times to confirm your tee time incase they forget to put yours down. read more

Our T-Time was 8am, we finished the first 9 holes in under 2 hours but we had a pretty big group. we were told we needed to move faster even though the closest people behind us were 4 holes behind. We then got held up by the people in front of us because we were told to move faster. I left my jacket on accident and called within 10 minutes of leaving. I was told " Next time make sure you get all your stuff out, which yes is my fault but the customer service needs work. read more

This place sucks. Extremely rude management. They charge expensive rates like they think they're a real golf course, then you go out and all the fairways are dirt leading up to horrible greens. Will never go back. The greens are the only thing keeping this place alive. Course manager is destroying this place just like he did the base course. He is a complete jerk to everyone that walks through the door, unless you are his buddy. Went there today to squeeze in 18, extremely rude greeting, all that was said was "46 bucks", then got my debit card thrown back to me after he swiped it. I have dealt with this manager several times, on base and now here. 100% do not recommend. Make the 30 minute drive out to Shady Oaks, same price for country club conditions. read more

Unfortunately, Maxwell is a near miss. For a municipal course it's.....acceptable. I've been playing here nearly 30 years and it's still the same. The company running it tries so hard to keep it nice and playable. They got new carts which is nice. But a whole LOT of money needs to be spent on Maxwell. And there is no money. Until the city decides to step up and sink some cash into it, you get what you get. So don't gripe like I just did and enjoy yourself. 18 holes anywhere is better than a lot of things! Dude in the front is very disrespectful gave a lot of attitude when me and a buddy just wanted to play golf. We asked if we could rent some golf clubs and remarked with no and I can tell you don't have any by how y'all dressed. And threw my buddys debit card at him after he asked for it back. I played this course last Monday for the first time since I was in high school (early 2000's). It is a fun course that brought back a lot of memories. Their carts really need some work. The greens are in great shape. If you aren't careful, you can tear up your clubs due to the rocks and lack of grass in some spots including the fairways. Maxwell is a great golf course with friendly facilty and a nice golf. The course is nice but a few rough spots here and there on the fairways but the greens are really beutiful. The reason for the bare spots are the don't have cart paths and the other reason is because they can't afford the watering bill and the city council is very nice to give them free water. They are doing retavations and in a couple of months it will be nice. :] read more

Maxwell leaves you wanting. It's tough to play and see the lush green of the country club across the way. Greens are decent, but there aren't any fairways or cart paths. They are updating the driving range, however, I would try and play somewhere else. read more

Very nice municipal course and super staff ! I drive an hour and a half to play this course. Great for beginners and mid level players ! After recent rains the fairways are in good shape and the greens are terrific. read more
