I'm…read morenot much for the city, and I didn't want to stumble around on our own, so I decided to look for guided tours before heading in on the LIRR to Penn Station. I came across this walking tour company. It seemed reasonable in terms of price and timeframe allotted, so we took a chance. It was a good time. Our guide was informative and we could tell she enjoys what she does. The tour was 4 hours in duration which is longer than most tours that I researched online, but it was at a leisurely pace. We ended at Sardis for a drink, which impressed my friends and now they can say they've been to Times Square and Broadway. Mission accomplished. If you're in the mood to see things up close and personal rather than from the interior of a bus, I recommend Follow Me NYC Adventures.

The trip goes by relatively smooth. The only problem I had was with the bus capacity. They had overbooked the bus by at least 8 or so folks. Because of this, the overbooked people had to be dropped off at another bus while standing in the aisle space. It did create some delays, but the staff handled it well and apologized profusely. Overall, good experience and the pricing was solid.

We took OvRride's snow bus to Belleayre and unfortunately had a very frustrating experience…read more Our group boarded at 42nd Street in Manhattan and sat in the last few rows near the restroom. The restroom door did not latch properly and kept slamming loudly with the motion of the bus. This issue was present on the ride to Belleayre as well, though it was more tolerable at the time. However, on the three-hour return trip--after a long day of skiing--it became unbearable, as many passengers were trying to rest and the constant banging made it impossible to sleep. I notified a staff member, who came to the back and pulled out a dirty rope from under the last-row corner seat to tie the door shut. While this reduced the noise slightly, the rope was loose and visibly dirty. Every time someone used the restroom, they removed the rope and left it on the floor, so the door would start slamming again. I had to repeatedly get up, retrieve the rope from under the seat, and secure the door myself. This happened multiple times, and we didn't get any rest the entire ride back. The fact that a rope was being used suggests this is not a new issue. The restroom also had no water or hand sanitizer available. For a three-hour bus ride, basic maintenance and functional facilities should be standard. Unfortunately, this experience makes us unlikely to use this service again.

The upgrade included free Wi-Fi, an extra hour of free happy hour each night, an upper level cabin and a separate dinning room just under the promenade deck. Out of the entire ship's passengers only 14 people upgraded, leaving us... with a quiet and very special VIP treatment from the eager to please staff! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/victoria-cruises-woodside?select=S2G4PdgIYIXnlUrGWolSxw&utm_campaign=www_photo_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) Even after the staff worked hard all day they entertained us by dancing and singing in their local culture. The cabin rooms were very clean and comfortable with an outside balcony to take advantage of the great views along the river. The food was excellent and after being on a busy tour of China, it was nice to take advantage of their laundry service. Our clothes came back pressed and separately packaged... just like new. On the cruise, we toured the amazing Three Gorges Dam and the scenic Goddess Stream. We even cruised by the location of the picture on the Chinese 10 Yuan currency bill. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/victoria-cruises-woodside?select=YO0auNNR2msZX6-FbjBRYw&utm_campaign=www_photo_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) I was one of the few passengers on the top deck at the right time. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/victoria-cruises-woodside?select=_1lNK5Hr2v0wGWYzFrPfLA&utm_campaign=www_photo_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) The ship also offered optional day tours. If you are interested in them, make sure to sign up for them. If they do not get enough people to sign up, they cancel the tour. Unfortunately, most of the passengers on our cruise must have been too tired from all of the walking on the main tour because, only one tour was not cancelled. That was the Three Gorges Bamboo Sea. This was a beautiful 5.5 mile hike to a huge water fall. Out of our 14 day China tour, the 3 day Victoria Cruise was my favorite part. I will remember the beautiful views of China along the Yangtze River... forever!

They have great prices for packages including transportation and lift tickets, rentals, lessons, etc. The owner of the company, Phil is so great. He is a big, loud, friendly German. He will do anything to make his "angels" (customers) happy. A typical trip would go like this: Wake up and meet the bus at your stop at the right time.. for example, my stop would be exit 52, the bus meets at 4:30am. You get on the bus, sign in, sleep. Get to the mountain, chill, eat breakfast, get your gear on and hit the slopes! You are free to do whateverr you want for the day until it is time to meet back at the bus at 4pm and ready to leave by 4:30 to head home. On the ride home, if you're old enough, have a couple of beers, watch a movie playing on the bus, or enjoy another nice sleep. It is a smooth day. It is a perfect opportunity to get on the mountain for a day. I recommend this business to anyone and everyone.

Upon arriving, we even got free sunglasses (sponsored by Clif bar) and a handful of free cliff bars. We unfortunately hit a lot of traffic as this was the hottest Sunday of the summer. Obviously the traffic was not the company's fault, and the bus company employee was very nice and handled the crowd fine. It's obviously still a good option for people who live near the stops and want to go the cheaper and more time consuming route. Next time, we're going with the ferry. No amount of beer, cliff bars or sunglasses make this attractive enough of an option for me.
