I love the teachers (especially Ronnie and Aubrey!) and they offer a variety of yoga styles and levels so there is really something for everyone. They offer classes in real time via zoom and via their video library so if you miss a class, you can take it when it's uploaded to the library. They are opening up the studio so in-person classes will be available in addition to zoom. Looking forward to being back on the mat, in person when it's safe to do so!

I take full responsibility for what I am writing here. In brief, this business is dishonest and has fraudulent practices. Let me explain. They used my credit card to charge me for 2 additional months of membership that I did not authorize. A few months ago, WYC and Kiron, the business owner, sent out an email with a special offer membership that had (and I quote) "no contract". I signed up for one month, because I knew I was moving away from DC in the near future. 1.5 months later I noticed repeating charges from WYC appearing on my cc. I wrote them, politely asking them to address the issue. I got a 3 sentence reply from Megan stating "it appears to be a membership charge and it will end in 3 months, the minimum for the membership". I wrote back again, this time in detail explaining what has happened and quoting their own advertisement. To date, 1.5 months later, the business has not acknowledged the issue or responded to me (same email address, so I know they read it regularly). I've never had such experience before with another business. I was clear and professional in my correspondance. Today I finally called my cc; they will deal with the business directly about the fraudulent charges moving forward. I've had one other unprofessional experience with WYC during my 1 month of membership with them. It took WYC 1.5 months to refund me an accidental charge that I was told would be refunded, and it took great persistence and effort on my part (multiple visits to talk to someone in person, multiple phone calls with no one returning my calls). There are other yoga places in this city that are credible. Practice your consumers rights and support them instead! I will never do business with WYC again.

I feel they should either update their hours or update their website to let people know if they are actually open or not. I got my refund, but still a waste of time I could've gone somewhere else. SCAM!!! DO NOT SIGN UP!!…read more This place is such a scam. My roommate and I signed up for a membership and ended up not enjoying the coaching. It was very new-agey and some people like that, but we wanted to focus more of the fitness aspect and the coaches seemed largely unconcerned with correcting form, mixing up the flows, etc. Seems like they just use it as a platform to pretend to be all-knowing, not for me. We emailed and asked if we could cancel and they said yes. I'd not signed anything that said I was locked in for a year. They did the usual sorry to see you go/is there anything we can do, but ultimately they ended up canceling my membership. I stopped going. The next month they charged me. So I went in and asked about it, and the woman told me it was a mistake, she was super apologetic and said they're refund me that money and make sure it's cancelled. It's been SIX MONTHS and they are still charging me. I've called and emailed multiple times, I've had my credit card company refute all the charges, and they're still doing it. The last time I caller them the person who answered hung up on me when I gave my name. I urge you not to sign up here unless you want a Don't Worry Darling situation where you end up staying there for life. A horrible business. Horrible customer service. For a product that's over-priced, and not even good at what it claims to be. Wish I could give a 0.

If it wasn't for the welcoming atmosphere and convenient location of Woodley Park Yoga, I don't know if I would've kept up my practice. As a newbie to yoga, I take the beginner class on Saturdays at 11am and the guided quarter primary class on Tuesdays at 7pm, both taught by Elsie. She has a calming voice, goes over the poses for new folks, and encourages you through the more difficult poses. The beginner class is easier if you've at least tried yoga at another studio or at home with YouTube videos. Be prepared to sweat a little! The studio is sizeable and allows 13-15 people max depending on the class. You can store your yoga mat in the back room, and there are wipes for your mat. I don't usually see blocks or towels readily available, but ask if you need them. The studio is on the third floor of a four-story building in Woodley Park, above Uni Sushi (no elevator). There's a small bathroom in the back of the studio. If I can think of only one downside, it's not being able to pay for classes online in advance, even though you can reserve your spot online. You need to go to the studio and purchase classes directly with the teacher, which takes time before/after class if you're waiting for others to pay too. Better to just buy a pack of 5, 10, or 20 classes if you plan to come back regularly. Checking in relies a bit on the honor system: you write your name on a card and the number of classes, then cross each number off when you show up to class. Whether your a seasoned yogi or a newbie like me, I highly recommend dropping in Woodley Park Yoga for a class!

I called Circle Yoga because it seemed like the friendliest studio in town and had the level one class i needed available. The receptionist was lovely. The teacher was terrific. It was a warm and compassionate space. The bookstore offerings were varied and not just stuff is seen everywhere else before. I only wish i could have returned for the sound accompanied class the next night but family scheduling wouldn't allow for that. Thank you Circle Yoga Team for making my awful personal experience physically bearable. I hope to be back in town soon for happier times and I'll definitely come back to this studio.

My concern is several classes were virtual only. I can't speak for everyone but I don't have the space to do a proper yoga class in my living room. Had I known this up front I wouldn't have signed up as this has meant missing several classes. There is an option take another class to make up for the class. I was able to do this once. But with my work schedule it's not easy to do so. In the future please be more up front with your students if not all the sessions will be in person. (Maybe it was mentioned and I didn't notice...it's possible. But it wasn't so clearly stated. If it had burn. I wouldn't have signed up) Sadly with this in mind I am less inclined to take another class. I may be paying less than other students but in the end did I actually save anything having missed several classes? **update: Anne, the owner, responded to this quickly. She apologized for the confusion and gave me a credit for the classes that were virtual only. Her excellent customer service and timely response are highly appreciated. I was pleased with both. And the class was excellent.

If you do not bring your own mat, rentals are $2 and if you do not bring your own towel, rentals are $1... water is $2 I believe. Lockers are provided, but you need to bring your own lock. I am surprised that there are rental fees for mats and towels, this is the first time I have ever encountered this at a yoga studio. Other studios usually have a handful of mats in case students forget theirs at home, I guess the rental fees make sense if alot of students at CorePower depend on the studio for mats. The studio is very clean and spacious. The locker room area even has several showers! I was impressed with the amount of space, the studio space for the classes has wooden floors... or what appears to be wooden floors, but softer and squishier... some type of foam? I loved it! It was easy on my feet :) I attended two Yoga Sculpt classes during my free trial. The Yoga Sculpt classes are really unique, different from your typical yoga class. It is a combination of weights, basic yoga moves (downward dog, warrior, etc) and some cardio (jumping jacks, running in place, etc). The room is heated which makes the workout that much harder. If you get overwhelmed with the heat, instructors encourage you to either take a break in childs pose on your mat or step outside the room for some air. I am so glad that CorePower Yoga is a part of Class Pass, I definitely plan on coming back for another class soon. Parking is always a hassle in Bethesda, luckily there is an underground parking garage behind the studio. Parking is free for up to two hours with validation from the studio. The garage gets zero cell phone reception so I kind of get some horror movie vibes when I am down there. CorePower Yoga's latest class ends at 9pm I believe, so plenty of people still out and about in Bethesda which calms my paranoia :P

I've heard the NY ones are even better, so I'm excited to check them out the next time I visit New York! The Wisconsin one is the best one in the DMV area, in my opinion. It is brand new (about 6 months old) and offers free 2 hour validated garage parking. The DMV membership gym gives you access to multiple equinox gym, including the ones I go to: Tyson's corner (free all day parking), Wisconsin Ave (2 hour free parking), and Bethesda (paid parking). Benefits of Wisconsin Ave: - Brand New - Next to Wegmans (can grab a snack) and King Street Oyster (happy hour) - Free 2 hour parking - Large range of classes and timeframes - Great bench spot for people who WFH - Steam Room Downsides: - No pool - More limited personal trainers tiers (they're still hiring) - Only 2 hour parking (about one class + a shower could fit in this timeframe). - Traffic into DC can take awhile Why I decided to join Equinox in general: - Fantastic bathrooms - cleaned 3x/day with Kiehls products (some of the best skincare/hair stuff) - Provides measurements and fat-muscle ratios - Has Eucalyptus infused towels - Luxury aesthetic and feeling - Overall lifestyle Equinox is truly a lifestyle, not just a gym. You're surrounded by likeminded people!
