Nach acht Jahren Cafe eigenwillig übergebe ich mein Cafe am 01.04.2019 meiner Nachfolgerin Frau Krugler. Die Entscheidung habe ich mir nicht leicht gemacht und möchte mich an dieser Stelle bei allen treuen Gästen und mein Team bedanken! Ihr habt das Cafe eigenwillig zu dem gemacht, was es ist! Für viele mag die Nachricht überraschend kommen und doch würde ich mich freuen, wenn Ihr weiter das neue "Cafe Restaurant eigenwillig" besucht. Die Öffnungszeiten haben sich geändern zum 01.04.2019. Auch wenn ich Heike Preuß das Cafe eigenwillig abgebe, ist es nicht so, wie es gerne verbreitet wird, dass es schließt(!), es ist ein Pächterwechsel und es wird Im Wasserturm auch in Zukunft weiterhin gastronomisch betrieben werden. Lieben Gruß Heike Preuß Auf drei Etagen serviert das Team von "Cafe eigenwillig" ein ausgiebiges Frühstück. Die durchgehend warme Küche öffnet um 11.30 Uhr. Etliche Gerichte stehen auf der Karte, zudem sind alle Kuchen selbst gebacken. Das Untergeschoss ist mit gemütlichen Sesseln ausgestattet und lädt zum Chillen ein, während sich der Raum in der ersten Etage auch für Feiern mit bis 20-25 Personen geeignet. Täglich reichhaltige Frühstückskarte ab 9.00 Uhr. Durchgehend warme Küche, ab 11.30 Uhr. Jeden Sonn.-und Feiertage "Sonntags-Buffet" incl. aller Heissgetränk 14,50 €.

I was in mixed company with locals, so it was fun. The menu acts as from an African experience, but a varied menu from all over the world. I ordered the Greek Burger and the "rocket" (arugula) was amazing. Very fresh and not a skimpy portion. I had to cut my burger and didn't finish my fries. Beer selection was midnight minimal, so I ordered wine. All South African, I chose the Merlot, a good middle ground. I paid with my debit/credit card. She was hesitant, but it worked smoothly.

She already been to another Cafe del Sol in Mönchengladbach and was very interested in how the Krefeld branch was. We arrived at 3pm and it was hardly busy with a very relaxing and friendly atmosphere. Our waitress was super friendly, caring and attentive. My Beer Glas was never empty for long neither was my friends wine Glas. After I saw some people's order of fries I had to order some myself and they where totally crispy and yummy we later had a half Meter long Pizza with Shrimp.. alsof very nice! Later on some more Waiters attended the ever growing crowd, they also been equally friendly and asked if we had all the drinks we needed or wanted and always an ear for any questions or requests from guests on other tables. My friend and I also noticed how good looking the staff was .. not that good looks are something that makes a good waitress or waiter! The crowed in the place was a very relaxed mix of friends meeting for drinks or dinner, families with kids and or dogs and couples on Dates as well as some folks for Business. I can't wait to go there again in the spring or summer when I'm back in town. Big thanks to the waitress and the rest of the staff making this night out a great experience.
