A really lovely little coffee shop located in the heart of Karlsruhe... in-between Heidelberg and…read moreStuttgart. The shop is small, but the coffee is BIG on taste. In fact, it was the best coffee I've had in southern Germany, and that's really saying something! There are lots of other little goodies there ... muffins, cookies, cakes, for sale, along with really cool mugs, take-away containers, and coffee machines of all sizes, types, shapes, and sizes. But again... you will come for the coffee... and make it your "go to" place e-v-e-r-y time you're anywhere near Karlsruhe!

Die Pralinen fanden wir gut, aber nichts Außergewöhnliches (wir haben schon viel bessere probiert, vor allem in Brüssel). Leider befindet sich das Mary Poppins ziemlich weit von uns entfernt, sonst könnten wir ab und zu für einen Kaffee/Kuchen hingehen. Extra hinfahren lohnt sich für uns nicht, da wir das Café gut, aber nicht außergewöhnlich fanden. The lady at the counter was really nice and explained all the options. She spoke excellent English so that was a plus. I had the rhubarb crumble and chocolate cheesecake. The rhubarb was fantastic! It had a great taste and wasn't too sweet. The chocolate cheesecake was ok. If you are used to American cheesecake, the taste is different and won't be the taste or texture you are expecting. That being said it is still tasty. I will have to go back and try more treats soon.

They slightly change the menu in time, which is great when you visit the bath on a regular base. They offer light dishes for those who do not want to have a full stomach when going int the pool. But there are also full plate dishes in case you are hungry like a wolf. The food is fresh and I enjoy it always. The service people are always very nice and they appreciate regular guests. Sometimes there is a little wait time on lunch time. But I do not experience that as a problem when I spend half the day on the compound anyway. One hint: the restaurant outside / upstairs has more dishes on the menu than the sauna restaurant.
