While I was at the Dayton Mall, I strolled by the upper level food court on a late weekday morning and needed a hot snack.
I stopped by the Max Orient counter which offers fast style food court Chinese fare, served from behind the glass counter steam table. They offer 1, 2, or 3 item combo plates ($6.99-$8.99) served with fried rice or lo mein and side choices. They have several chicken dishes, pepper steak, hot vegetables, fried rice, lo mein, egg rolls, spring rolls, cheese wontons, and cold drinks.
I decided on a side of Lo Mein Noodles ($2.99) and an Egg Roll ($1.50), which I snacked on in the food court. The lo mein noodles (wide linguine noodles) were very plain and oily with very few carrots and cabbage. The small crispy egg roll was filled with shredded cabbage. Overall, it was pretty decent for the minimal price paid for food court Chinese food. read more
