Across the road from the Warth lift, this is probably the best hotel in the Warth-Schroken valley…read more They call themselves a 4 star hotel but given the facilities and the location, it's probably almost, if not, 5 stars.
A sparkling wine reception and you're led to your rooms. The hotel layout is a little strange though, due to expansion, in order to get to some rooms, you need to head downstairs once you enter the hotel and pretty much walk the entire length of the building to get to the new annex. This contains the pool, fitness rooms and suites. We actually booked suites as we were a little late booking and had limited options, wanting to be in Warth at that specific time due to a friend's birthday.
Our rooms were BIG, one being a standard suite and one being for a family. As we were a group of 3 guys and a girl, the other two guys stayed in the standard suite while the girl and I took the family suite, as it had a separate bedroom. A quick spin of a bottle later and I took the kid's bedroom - although small, the bed was actually larger than either of the two singles used for the double bed. We did have a moment of fun when we got into the room, although the toilet had frosted glass walls, the bathroom and shower inside it didn't. After a laugh, we agreed to yell whenever we were going to take a shower. Beds were very comfortable.
The facilities are great, with the pool having both indoor and outdoor sections (which allows you to run around in the snow. There is also a good spa type area in the pool with plenty of jets. The spa section is a short walk away - the hotel provides a small bag with a gown, slippers and spa towels. Two warm rooms, a steam room, a large sauna and pool are there - all clothing optional, be prepared! Also an ice grotto which is basically a big bucket of cold water with a rope to dump it all over you!
Dinner and breakfast are included, and the food is GOOD, dinner was a five course meal, delivered in style covering soup, starter, salad from the salad bar, a main course and dessert. We were fairly stuffed afterwards. Breakfast was a real buffet, with a live egg station, waffles, bacon and sausage, then breads, cheeses, meats even honey from the comb (fantastic by the way!). You could even add sparkling wine to your breakfast at no extra charge.
Unfortunately we were only staying the one night, wish we could have been there the entire time!
