...so I've decided to give feedback to Max Guitar Store (https://www.maxguitarstore.com) and share my last "business" experience with them.
I am taking the time to write this as I believe that feedback is an essential tool to raise self-awareness and develop us at a personal and professional level.
Let me also say that I am a guitar player and passionate about music. I build amps and effects and I am also in the business of buying and selling musical instruments. I respect everyone in this business, especially the ones that are continuously pushing, investing and developing better musical instruments.
Summary of my experience:
1. I contacted Mr. Robbert Max VD End (CEO of Max Guitar Store) to sell 2 guitars I had listed several selling platforms. After exchanging a few messages we agreed on a final price and signed a contract agreement (in attachment) on February 13th. The contract agreement states that "The buyer pays the guitars by bank wire transfer in the same day of receiving them." (which is a common clause/ procedure between dealers - to establish a payment deadline);
2. The guitars arrived at MaxGuitar Store on February 19th and were received by Henk (proof of good receipt by UPS in attachment);
3. On February 20th, Mr. Robbert Max VD End told me everything was ok, confirming that the transfer would be made until the end of that week, February 23th. For me, this was already a surprise as it was not we've agreed, but as it was a short delay I didn't raise any concerns;
4. On February 27th I contacted Mr. Robbert Max VD End again, informing him that I did not receive any payment, to which he replied that the company had had an unexpected problem and asking me for 2 more weeks to transfer the money! He also mentioned for the first time, that it would be better to send the guitars back. I did not accept this as we had an agreement in place, so I was confronted with a 3rd delay. I told him that I was not happy with the situation, but understood the problem and we established a 3rd deadline for payment - March 13th. I was very clear in stating that I would not accept additional payment delays;
5. On March 13th I was informed by Mr. Robbert Max VD End that once again he wouldn't be able to meet deadline and that he didn't know when they would be able to process the payment. He also mentioned once more that it would be better to send the guitars back (after 4 weeks of payment delay). I had no alternative but to accept taking the guitars back.
6. On March 16th I received the guitars (without any cost) and now I am selling them again, explaining why they have been re-listed in several platforms.
Conclusion: Be careful when dealing with these guys and ensure you are paid before sending out any good to them... They wasted a LOT of my time and unashamedly cheated me. It is pretty obvious that Max Guitar Store could not sell my guitars and decided to send them back to me, instead of doing the right thing and honor the contractual agreement we had in place.
