Doesn't carry average sizes for American women. This shop sells the Allure brand wedding gowns, so I called them to find out if they had a specific style I wanted to try on, only to be told that they don't carry ANYTHING over a size 12! (And by the way, a size 12 is actually a size 10 in street clothes.) Shameful! EVERYONE deserves to feel beautiful on their wedding day, and size 12 isn't even that big! By not carrying anything larger than a 12, you eliminate and alienate a significant portion of the adult population. What a pity. I'll spend my thousands of dollars elsewhere. read more

At this point in my search I felt burnt out because of my previous shopping experience, but Julie made me feel at home. Second time coming as a guest of a bride and boy has this place went down hill. Some of the staff, mainly the woman who was seemingly running the show, was so rude and abrasive. Just made us feel extremely unwelcome from the start. Not only that, but the bridal assistant helping us as well as the manager continuously brought the bride dresses she just did not like after several times of telling her what she was looking for. The other bridal assistants and staff were also incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful. The dresses were just not the best. Have had much better experiences at salons elsewhere in the area. We saw several brides coming for the first and even second times walk out without finding something they were remotely interested in. Walked into Max Bridal for my appointment a few nights ago and was not overly excited because I had been to several of the larger fancy shmancy stores (Kleinfeld's, L'Fay, etc.) and was not impressed with the selection - especially for the price tag. Shopping for a dress was becoming more of a chore and I was beginning to dread it a bit. Anyway, up walks Amy. That was my sales girl. My first thought? "She kinda reminds me of Blossom from the hit 90's TV show...cute, but I doubt she's going to pull anything that I'll actually like *sigh*" Ok, so I'm a grown up right? I can admit when I'm wrong. Was I wrong about her? Absolutely! She was nothing short of amazing. Super personable and extremely knowledgeable about the dresses and their designers. Told her the look I was going for and she immediately pulled dresses that made me look like Jessica Rabbit, which is exactly what I was going for. She also clipped my size 4 body (with a lot of booty) into the dresses so tightly and perfectly that I could really visualize how a dress would look on me even though I was trying on size 12's and 14's. Also, the dress selection in the store, although not as extensive as a place like Kleinfeld's, was still plentiful and top notch. Definitely about quality, not quantity here. There had to be at least 5 dresses that I loved, narrowed it down to two that I was head over heels for, and then finally chose the one that I couldn't live without. This had been my 6th dress stop and all I could do was wish it was my first. This place was a pleasant surprise. Only thing I wasn't really feeling was that the owner was willing to offer me 15% off of my dress but ONLY if I wrote a review. My thing is, I was so extremely happy with my experience that I had planned to write a review anyway - so no need to put that sort of stipulation on it ya know? I had such a great experience saying yes to the dress at Max Bridal! Julie was my consultant and was so great at listening to what I was looking for and putting me in such beautiful gowns. I'd been to two other salons before coming here and had ok experiences there, but felt like I was put in gowns I definitely didn't want and the consultants were just blah. I was surprised to find a lot of bridal places were not very nice and put a lot of pressure on me to buy something that I just kind of liked. Julie was great and so relaxed that I just relaxed and had fun. Every time I came in the entire staff was warm and friendly and always made me feel like they were invested in my wedding being great. I was worried that in Syosset my budget wouldn't be enough but with a $2000 budget I could easily try on almost anything in the store. How disappointing, came highly recommended, used by my daughter in law. Initial fitting was fine, seamstress took my tip without hesitation. When my daughter went for second fitting,they had to do some more alterations, third fitting,wasn't right 1 week b4 wedding wedding. This was my first dress shopping experience and it was everything I hoped for. I worked with Emma and she is just the sweetest! Even though I didn't find my dream dress here, they had such an amazing selection. Julie helped me and she is literally the best. She doesn't push, pulls great options and also lets you take your time (I was so indecisive). Also the intimacy of the store is so nice, there are separate rooms for each client that are big and you're not lined up with other girls like most other bridal stores. Max Bridal was the first place I went to for my dress (and last). I went for a trunk show for a particular designer I liked. Prior the appointment, I filled out a questionnaire with what I wanted in a dress and went on their Pinterest to pick out dress styles I liked and wanted to try on. I thought this was super helpful because I didn't have to waste time during the appointment trying to explain what I want because it was already established. Upon arrival, the staff was friendly, the space was clean and adhered to covid cleanliness guidelines. Myself and my guest had a private room with and Melissa was the staff member assigned to me. Melissa was great and honest about how dresses would look on my frame. She moved quickly and I got to try on a good amount of dresses. The other staff would pop in from time to time and bring more dresses. I chose a silhouette I never thought I would like- Melissa nailed it! Pros: all of the above. Plus, your family can take photos of you in the dresses (something other places do not allow which is aggravating), you can ask which brand you are trying on and the price (some places once again will not tell you the brand) and the dresses in the store are all affordable (in terms of wedding dress prices and obviously dependent on everyone's budget) and you get a cute gift back when you leave!! Cons: I don't know if this is because of Covid precautions but my guests and I were not allowed to look through the inventory for a dress. Melissa did a great job listening to what I wanted and did not want but it would have been nice to browse. Will update review after I receive the dress. read more

Max Bridal was the first bridal shop I visited while dress shopping. Julie was my stylist, and was so amazing. She knew I was anxious, and I had a whole entourage with me because I'm the only girl in my family. I had two aunts, a grandma, my mom and my MOH with me, so I was a bit stressed. Julie listened to what I wanted, was super helpful with my guests, and was so just lovely to work with. I knew I wanted to buy my dress from this shop after the first appointment. I didn't find my dress that day, but every other shop I went to after that didn't live up to the experience I had at Max Bridal. So four bridal shops later, I went back to Max Bridal and found my dress. Turns out my dress had JUST come into their inventory the day before my appointment. So it was meant to be! I had such a wonderful appointment today at Max Bridal! I want to start off my saying I'm really not someone to be dramatic about all of this wedding stuff. I kind of knew what I wanted from Pinterest. I met with Emma and she did such an amazing job. I brought along 4 family members that were super emotional the whole time. Although I did not end up finding my dress here, I had a very positive experience thanks to Seon. She was so helpful during both of my visits to the salon, and she was always available via text if I needed her to check if the store carried specific dresses I was looking to try on. They book one bride at a time during the week since it's less busy, which is when I visited, and I believe they hold multiple appointments at a time during the weekend. I found them to have a decent selection of dresses in all styles and within a reasonable price range. The store carries accessories (veils, belts, etc.) and bridesmaid dresses. I recently started my wedding dress journey and was unsure about how to choose which bridal salons to go to. I checked out some reviews on the knot and spoke to a few friends but still was not sure what makes one salon better than another. Max Bridal was the second salon that I went to and I was incredibly impressed with the entire experience. I just happened to be placed with Celia and I couldn't be happier. She took the time to listen to what I liked, but also was able to get a sense of my style after I tried on a few dresses and made some suggestions of her own. She literally made me feel like I was the only bride in the world and it is easy to see how much she genuinely loves what she does. I am an indecisive person, so despite falling in love with 2 dresses that day, I couldn't commit. After having a terrible experience at RK Bridal the next day, I couldn't wait to call Max Bridal back to make my next appointment with Celia. She knows exactly what she's talking about, she knows the store's inventory, and she's willing to put in the work to make sure that you love the dress that you're going to wear on your wedding day. I ordered my dress yesterday and I cannot wait for it to come in so I can go back and continue to work with Celia and the rest of the staff. I wanted to wait until all was said and done before I wrote my review. I had the best experience at Max Bridal! I had been to several bridal boutiques looking for a wedding gown to no avail. Max Bridal is where I finally said YES! to the dress. I finally found a few dresses online that I was interested in trying on and to my surprise, Max Bridal was a store that had all of them. It was probably 3am when I went to their website to gather information about their location and hours and to my surprise I was able to actually schedule an appointment online! There was an availability the following day so I scheduled. When I arrived, I was greeted and immediately saw Amy the sales person who sold my sister her wedding gown in 2015 at a totally different store. She was so patient and so kind then, so it was great to see her again. It felt like I was reunited with family. Celia was the person who I worked with and she was amazing! I can tell she genuinely enjoys her job. She wasn't put off by the fact that I had been looking for so long. She also didn't try to rush me into buying anything and make me feel like my time was running out. She took time to understand what I was looking for and what I didn't like based on my past experiences. She was very professional and very kind during the whole experience, even when I returned for my fitting. My dress arrived to the store within the timeframe that they said it would, so I was very pleased with that. There's just something about people keeping their word. Francoise is the seamstress who altered my dress and she did an AMAZING job. She's very fast and efficient. My alterations were complete within a few days. She's also VERY knowledgeable about her craft and can be trusted. Such a pleasure to work with. My overall experience was excellent. I started out loving this place. Every time i have been here the staff at the front have been really polite and friendly. I forgot the name of the woman that helped me but she was awesome. The first dressed she picked for me, i loved it so much that I chose it for my wedding day. Ordered the dress, they said it would take about 5 months to come, but it actually came in one. I came to inspect my dress, fell in love with a veil, ordered that too (just take my money, whatever i loved it) that came extremely quick too. Up to this point my review would have been 5 stars. It was the alterations that took away the 2 stars for me. For starters she was 20 minutes late. What bothered me the most about that is any time i came for an appointment i was told that it had to end at a certain time with no exceptions. So why didn't that apply this time?Either way, i stayed patient. The woman who did my alterations was extremely rude. From her mean comments to her attitude when she was asked a question. Anytime i would ask something she would get rude and tell me she knew what she was doing. Mind you, i was not questioning how good she was, but if i am paying thousands of dollars for a dress i deserve to know what she is doing with it. She wouldn't explain anything to me which didn't make me comfortable in trusting her with my dress. Then on top of that she tried to stick me with a huge bill. Since when do you go somewhere and they don't explain to you what they will be doing but just hands you a big fat bill. If it was explained to me, i wouldn't have any problems with paying it, but anytime i asked questions she was so rude and refused to answer me but instead would say she knows what she is doing. Well this caused them to lose my business for alterations. I decided that customer service was extremely important and I took my business elsewhere. I am so happy that i did. The woman i found to alter my dress did an amazing job and she has a beautiful personality to go along with it. Remembering my experience with the lady at maxi bridal made me take off another star. I just feel that it's awful that i spent so much money at the shop on the dress to be treated terribly by the alterations woman. I suggest that she learns manners if she wants to receive business. Not everyone will just deal with bad customer service especially when it includes rude comments. I loved this boutique so much! It's a small boutique but they only do one appointment at a time which was perfect! It is so nice having the place to yourself! The staff was so sweet and very accommodating, before I went I asked how many girls I can bring and they simply said "as many as you'd like!" I ended up bringing 8 and they all had places to sit and the staff didn't care at all! The selection of gowns was great and they even had their own line which were priced very well (400-1,000$). We tried on a bunch of beautiful and very well priced gowns and I never felt rushed. They made it a very fun, relaxing experience, exactly what it should be! I walked into my appointment trying to think positive and from the moment I met Seon I had a feeling that I would find my dress. I showed her some pictures of what I liked, told her my vision for my wedding and we started pulling dresses. I had one designer that I LOVE (Lillian West) but I wanted sleeves and all the dress by her where sleeveless. Seon pushed me out of my comfort zone and said we could add sleeves if need be. I put on a dress I normally wouldn't have put on and fell in LOVE. I am so thankful Seon made me try on something I normally wouldn't have. I would highly recommend this salon to any bride!! I went to Max Bridal in October - my first dress trying on experience. I was excited, with my mom and cousin and worked with Amanda - who was beyond amazing. Made me feel so incredibly comfortable, non-judgmental and really knew exactly what I wanted and took her time with my family. Her personality was relatable and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. There happened to be a trunk show that day where I ended up finding my dress!! :) I was told the trunk show and the dress would only be around until 2pm the next day and to sleep on it and to contact them in the morning to make a decision. Obviously it was "the one", so my mom called back the next morning and a woman named Celia answered the phone. Before I continue, I feel as though previous reviews truly praise Celia for being a great employee and wonderful to work with - however I still to this day do not understand how this woman holds a job in a customer service industry. Celia was beyond rude to my mother, wouldn't let her get a word in, didn't listen to anything she said, said we couldn't come in, and that there were no available appointments. Then had the audacity to hang up on my mom. In fear of the trunk show leaving and the dress leaving, we went to the store anyway, where I was greeted by Celia. Who said to me "oh, you're the one who's mother just called, I told her we didn't have any appointments". I asked her politely if I could speak with someone else, realizing who she was. Under her breath she whispered "B*tch". I do have the managers e-mail and had planned to originally e-mail, and I apologize to Celia for making this public, and maybe she was having a bad day. But in a customer service industry, no one should be treated this way. Needless to say, I did order my wedding dress. However, I had it transferred to a different bridal salon because I could not fathom working with someone who treats customers that way. All other employees who work at Max Bridal were absolutely wonderful, and the selection is plentiful and affordable. Would recommend going, just hopefully you avoid this woman. read more
