This dealer matches all tire prices, even the warehouse chains or the mega stores, so why not just stay and buy local, plus saving transit time. And there are specials and discounts that may help you with sticker shock , if it's been a while since your last tire service. Worst experience ever. Stay far away. The service is awful. They failed my car due to the tires, which another inspection station later told me would actually pass. I'm not upset about failing the inspection itself -- I'm upset because they completely lied on my receipt by stating my mileage was overdue for an oil change when it was not. On top of that, they failed to provide me with the required 10-day extension sticker to fix the tire issue. Very disappointing experience and I will not be returning. read more

Last week i had a flat tire and was lucky enough to have aaa respond and change tire. I went into mavis in Bellmore looking to have my tire repaired and placed back on my vehicle. Even though they were busy the manager was so kind and helpful and stayed open later than he had to to get my vehicle tire repaired. Almost laughable the way they do business here. I came in to replace a valve stem on my tire since I was in the area. Tire has been very slowly leaking but figured since I was in the area and they looked quiet, I'd have it done. Of course when they inspected the tire all of the sudden there was a slash in the sidewall! Long story short, they punctured the tire so they could upsell me. I was here a few times since my 2016 review. The last was about a year ago when I bought 4 tires for my kid's car. Today she told me that she had a nail in her tire. They were run-flat tires that can be driven when until they can be repaired. I took it to Mavis. I walked in and went to the counter and waited......and waited........and waited. I didn't see Anthony, or anybody else for 10 minutes. Sadly, I am not a patient person and those 10 minutes felt like a eternity. And being put on the "Pay no mind" list makes it worse. It's likely that Mavis damaged my Jeep when I went in for tires on President's Day. When I left the Bellmore location, I felt something was wrong. The next day, I brought my car to Jeep. The Power Transfer Unit was damaged. And they put the wrong size tires on my Jeep! After Jeep repaired the damage, I went back to Bellmore location to have the wrong tires replaced witht the correct ones. Call customer support as suggested by Mavis after my first review. Gentleman promised me the regional manager would call me. NOTHING!NO PHONE CALL. SI, NOT ONLY DOES THE BELLMORE LOCATION STINK, CORPARATE STINKS AS WELL. DO NOT PATRONIZE MAVIS. GO TO FIRESTONE. Got the final bill after the credit line approval was known. Been going here for years and am still shocked at how the bill was jacked up to squeeze every penny. I won't go back. I went to Mavis for a simple inspection. My car was only back there for 5 minutes before they said that I not only failed the inspection, but to fix everything would take about $700. When I told them I would be taking my car back they then tried to take off $200 from the bill and attempted to give me a "coupon" but still wouldn't release my car back to me. They were attempting to barter, which I do not appreciate. I said "no thank you, I just want my car back". They then said it would only take a few minutes before I had my car back to me. After 20 minutes of me waiting, I noticed my car was back in the street, off from sunrise highway... I asked about it and the girl at the front desk said it still wasn't done yet and to be patient. When I turned around again, my car was gone. They took my car off the lot to a separate location with out my knowledge or consent, which is illegal. At this point I'm livid. The girl at the front is getting frustrated at my frustrations, yet I'm the one being bartered with and lied to. Finally, after waiting for around an hour, they returned my car to me and told me I had to pay for the inspection which was $37 (which I did and still have the receipt for). After that I left and my husband and I then took the car to a separate Mavis location in Wantagh on Sunrise Highway and as we were telling them the story, they said regardless if you pass or fail inspection we would be present in the system (which we were not)... not to mention, the Wantagh location only charged us $27 because we own a hybrid vehicle. So there were absolutely zero records of an inspection being done on my car, yet I paid the bill for one. The one thing I asked the people at the Bellmore location for was to check out my windshield wipers because they were squeaky. The guy at the Wantagh location said that a pin was missing and if I were to use my them as I was driving they would have gone flying from my car, which is interesting because I used them that same morning before I brought it in for the inspection... so, although I can't say for certain, I can heavily imply what might have taken place at the Bellmore Mavis, and who knows what else was done to my car when they took it off the lot. This behavior was unprofessional, illegal and was met with a lack of explanation and rude service. I shouldn't have to be a professional in order to not be taken advantage of. Buyer beware, stay away from Bellmore Mavis!!! Ps when we were at the Wantagh location, they had two separate people in there, also with complaints from the Bellmore location. I'm not sure why Mavis has not addressed the many concerns regarding how this location does their business but to say it's concerning is an understatement. read more

On Thursday April 25th I brought my 2015 Kia Soul into Mavis Tire in Bellmore on sunrise highway. I was greeted by Anthony who was very nice. Unfortunately, my overall experience with the repair, the mechanics competence, consideration for my time and reactions to my concerns was a different story. I came in with the rear passenger tire not holding air. I got there at 3pm and didn't leave until after 6pm. While there TWO other customers who came in AFTER me (who also had an issue with a flat tire) and also without an appointment were taken in BEFORE my car and left before me. When I was waiting I saw my car jack up in the front and the front tire being attended to. I went up to Anthony and asked that he told them it was the rear passenger tire. He said yes. I went to the mechanic and said it's the rear passenger tire he said no that's not the tire with the issue. I went back to Anthony and asked again. This time I was told they were fixing the tire that was leaking and it was a bad valve. When I went to pay, I asked one last time about the rear passenger tire and that they checked it and it was OK and not the issue. I was assured I was wrong and the problem was corrected. I paid my bill ($26) plus left a $4 tip for the mechanic. I got in the car and started to drive and the flat tire light was back on!! I came right back inside and said to Anthony that the light was on and I do not believe the proper tire was fixed. He told me to drive around and the light would go off. I said no that's not how it works. I came in with a dash light on and It should be gone when I leave. I shared my concern that the proper tire was NOT repaired. He said no the tire was. He sent a mechanic out with an electronic device that he touched each tire with to remove the dash light. The light went off. However, over the weekend while traveling upstate the flight came back on. I had to keep putting air in the tire until I got back to Long Island. I came back into the same Mavis this morning at 8:30am (Tuesday April 30th). When I came in i explained the light was still on and gave Anthony my paperwork. I said I've been putting air in the rear passenger tire and he needs to check the repair because the tire is still and issue. I wasn't going to complain because I had hoped mavis would take my car in Immediately and at least look to see if it was a simple fix or if need to wait. I decided to email you because I have been here OVER an hour and fifteen minutes - currently AND my car hasn't even been looked at. While I understand that There are 2 other customers here waiting. But I believe when a customer comes in with a small simple issue that was NOT resolved properly the first time, they should be taken as a priority. My time is just as valuable and I have to get to work and need a car up and running. I'm very disappointed in the service and consideration I'm getting and as of current would not recommend this location or mavis in general as a place to go for repairs. There are many options consumers have for car repairs and tire purchases. There are also many rating site (yelp, Facebook, etc on the web where people go to and see how happy others were with using certain service stations). It's a shame this stores isn't trying to make their customer happy. Why would a customer have loyalty to store that doesn't show that they value them? read more

I visited Mavis today in an emergency situation due to running over a bolt. A super annoying situation that could've been much worse was quickly solved with ease. Let me start by saying if I could give no stars I would. I purchased two tires from the Mavis in Bellmore about 1.5 years ago and have had nothing but issues with them since. I got a bubble in one a month after purchasing it and was constantly losing air in both. I went back about 7 months after purchasing the tires to see if there was something wrong. I waited over a hour for them to tell me the tire was fine. Since then I had to put air in both of those tires too often. About 4 months ago I replaced the back two tires at a tire shop in Huntington and the tire specialist told me my rims were corroded which was causing the air leakage. He sealed them and I have not had any issues. The tired were about $20 cheaper and i was not charged for balancing like i was at Mavis. I go back to Mavis this past Saturday and explain the above situation to the manager and he starts off by telling me he doesn't think he can fix the tire... already trying to scam me into spending more money there. Keep in mind im a young women and from other reviews on here I see that he tends to take advantage of those less knowledgeable of car mechanics. I leave the car at 8.45am. He tells me ill get it back that morning. 12pm comes around... no call. I call him and he tells me there was a leak in one and he will replace the other. Great! About 25 min later he calls me back trying to say the front tires are not the ones from his shop and the back tires are based on the wear and tear. I got the new ones 4 months ago and the other from Mavis 1.5 years ago. He wants me to show him receipts of the new tires. Is it just me or should someone who specializes in tires know the different between an almost 2 year old tire and a 4 month old tire? He asks me to come down to square this away. I brought my father because i could just tell he was trying to pull one on me. I get there with my dad and my dad asks what the issues are with the tires and he goes" no issue". Really? Then why were you asking for receipts of the new tires? According to him and his BS computer i put 30K miles on the tire in the past year and a half and he would prorate the tire and I would pay for two thirds. There is no way i put 30k miles on my car in the past year and a half when my work commute is 7 miles each way and i do not drive very often. At this point i had had enough. My dad had enough and got heated with the manager, the manager got heated back and i tried to diffuse the situation by saying just replace the tire so i can get out of here to which he replies " see why does your daughter agree with me?".... Trying to pin me and my father against one another. Not cool at all. The tire cost me approx $150 when i first purchased it. I paid $48 bucks for my 1/3 and a $17 balancing fee which I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYONE ELSE DO. Nickle and Diming. So for that and an oil change $120 bucks later... my tire pressure light was still on. I said screw it and drove off as fast as i could. Not to mention last time i was there one of the mechanics backed my car into a pole chopping the paint off my back bumper and I told him not to worry about it. Should have filed a damn report. Honestly, avoid at all costs. I'm not one to post a bad review and taint someones business and livelihood but this guy is a crook. read more

Got ripped off on a headlight. I asked the guy for a price first. He told me after so I was stuck at that point. Charged me 73 for a bulb and when when I mentioned that quite high he said the bulb was 65 dollars we installed it for free. I called my friend who is a mechanic and the bib is less than 15 dollars. Completely took advantage of me. I will never go back. I hope people see this so they don't get ripped off as well. read more

Anthony's a really nice guy but I feel the place doesn't have even a half of a mechanic between all the employees there .I have had a few alignments done here and none were ever perfect the last straw was I brought 2012 Durango in 4 times for a wheel alignment and it still is not correct had to gave up and take it to another place nearby ... boom perfect first shot the print out showed they were way off as I figured. I would recommend the Bellmore mavis if you need air in your tires they may be able to handle that ! Other than that beware Sorry but I will never step foot in this place again read more

I went for a vehicle inspection. My care is a 2017 model with 22,000 miles. They failed my inspection saying I needed 2 new tires and 2 brake pads for $700. I took my car to the garage down the street and they passed my car. The brake pads were fine and they plugged one hole in my tire. This was pure extortion. I with nys would take tire license to perform inspections away. And yes they kept the $37 inspection fee. read more

Went here to purchase 4 Michelin radials for my daughters car . I had a Black Friday ad and I spoke to the Manager Anthony. He was very pleasant and said he would have no problem matching the price plus the free balancing which was clearly stated . He ordered the tires and I came in a week later to have them installed. Now the fun starts , once again. I showed him the agreed upon ad, again no problem. Then came the up-selling which I understand is part of the deal nowadays. He said car would be ready at 1:00 which was in 2:30 hours . No call , finally after 3 phone calls at 2:30 car was ready . He brings up the bill and there's a 60 dollar charge for balancing that Anthony says I clearly agreed to and shows me his computer screen saying I agreed to this, which was without a doubt not there in the original, he added just as he did with all 5 of his up-sells which he cleverly added then had to take them out as I rejected them . . Once again I show him my agreed upon ad on my phone , he insists the ad was too small for him to see imagine ! This guy is a real slick one . If I had my daughter pick up the car she would have unsuspectedly have paid the inflated bill. Finally after raising my voice a few decibels he said ok I'll give it to you like he was doing me a favor . What an ignorant manager , over 60 bucks he loses a customer because I left with a bad taste and would never bring a car there again . I have been a customer at Mavis Tire on Sunrise Highway in Bellmore for a little over two and a half years now. What started as a simple stop for a tire repair has become my families' go to shop for maintenance, repairs and of course, tires. I am always greeted in a welcoming, friendly manner. In that time I have come to know most all of the staff from the technicians to the manager, Anthony. They have always been able to meet my needs and sometimes with very short notice. From water pumps to wiper blades, the depth and breadth of Anthony's knowledge and his recommendations have been spot on. I'm given good information and what I believe to be fair prices. As I've said, I bring all four of my families' vehicles here and have not been disappointed. I am pleased to bring my business to a place wher a handshake is valued. read more

Absolutely do not go here. I had my power steering fixed, cost $540. Next day, power steering was leaking again. Take it back only to find out Anthony was on vacation and we had to wait. Took the car back the next week, Anthony said we can't fix it because the mechanic was on vacation. Finally took it back again and they said they would take care of it as it was likely something they hit while they were fixing it last time. Only to be charged $360 again for parts and labor. Not only that , but Anthony was ranting about extremely racist and political topics, even using the N word. Unacceptable. Will never go there again. read more

He tries to "sweet talk" you with "suggestions", warnings, and make it seem that he's doing you a favor, but all lies! The quality of work is poor. I've been coming to STS for many years, but since this guy Tiago came into this location, all hell broke lose! Don't come in here for any work (minor or major) be it flat tire, oil change, NY State inspection, because you will come-out broke! Tiago will find ways to pinch your wallet from air filter to a simple tire cap. STS Management, please make the necessary management staff at STS Bellmore, NY location. Tiago Caetano does NOT represent your company and brand well. He has poor customer service skills, deceitful, "fresh with words" but really a liar at the end of the day. The whole STS slogan of "It's a trust thing" is a complete opposite at this location! This location will lose more loyal customers overtime, if there are no changes made. I took a seat and started to wAit and he addresses the other man in there and asks loudly if he likes the President. They talk for 20 minutes disregarding my presence about very offensive topics and when I politely asked them to change the topic as this was a public place of business, he told me I had an attitude problem and there was the door meanwhile I am a paying customer waiting for my car with nowhere to go... Anthony the manager was awesome! Front the moment that I walked in he felt like an old friend. He was very helpful in suggesting a tire that was right for my vehicle and circumstances and when i questioned whether it really was the right choice he was able to assure me it was and I just felt like I could trust him because of his kind and caring nature. These days it is hard to find service like we used to have in the good old days where people actually care about the customer and their satisfaction. Well walking into Mavis I found a top notch manager who truly took the time and cared not only about my vehicle or making a sale but cared about me, the customer.
