I stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner and I chose to order and eat inside because the drive thru line was way too long. I hadn't eaten all day so I ordered two Double Doubles, Animal Fries, and a small soda. This is what I usually get at other In-N-Outs if I'm really hungry. I ended up waiting over ten minutes for my food while plenty of other customers who came in after me ordered and got their food in a couple of minutes. I don't know what was taking so long for my order, but I was getting impatient. Maybe it was the grilled onions. That's usually the excuse for why an order is taking longer to prepare, but I don't know. When I got my food everything tasted great as always but not long afterwards on the drive to Salt Lake City I started feeling ill. I had an upset stomach that started to hurt a little and when I got to my hotel I had to lay down for a while. Fortunately things didn't get any worse but I couldn't eat anything for the rest of the day and just had small amounts of water. I don't know if I've ever gotten sick from eating In-N-Out food before. I've had this same order from many other In-N-Outs before and never had an issue.

Though I expected my gyro to be a hit bigger and filled with more meat. Usually when I go somewhere and get one they are lacked and a large meal. Keeping with a couple criteria, an untried venue, check! Food, (most importantly) check! and nearby, check! We decided to throw on some foot covers and head out the door. A quick jaunt and we'd arrived. Super easy to find even though it isn't street facing. Expecting it to be bustling with NYE recovery folks, we were surprised to find a quiet establishment that had two other patrons. Quickly I grabbed up a menu and we were immediately greeted with a friendly "Good Morning" from a very energetic and enjoyable young man. We sat and perused the menu. Talking over what we wanted vs what we should have. It took less time to make our decision for our order than most food stops in our past. I ordered the Mortician with Pepper Jack instead of the American Cheese it was paired with. Our order taker guy, (also the energetic greeter) inquired if I wanted to make it a double. I answered to the affirmative, (with a sheepish smile on my face). My wife conservatively ordered the Thursday Special, consisting of the Morty's Iconic Cheeseburger and fries. After paying and sitting down, our once greeter/order taker now waiter guy appeared with a large bottle of pour-it-yourself Fry Sauce and a handful of napkins. I looked over the sauce and quickly realized I hadn't ordered the Onion Rings that I wanted to try. I quickly mentioned to our greeter/order taker/waiter guy before he disappeared behind the kitchen doors that I needed the onion rings. With a smile and a thumbs up he said, I gotchu. I asked if there was a separate charge and stood up to pay. He quickly interrupted my advancement with an outstretched hand and a more pronounced, I Got You. I literally had to take off the onion rings that were part of the sandwich makeup to even consider the possibility of moving the Mortician into my mouth, (TWSS! ...if you know, you know). Im finding this experience difficult to put into words. So, I'll sum it up. Delicious and juicy and fantastic! For once, outside of a homegrown burger, I'm able to enjoy the separate flavorings of Bacon, Beef, (which I think is marinated), the jalapeño and the pastrami as well as the aioli. After a quick drink to cleanse my palette, I grabbed up an Onion Ring. I paused to reflect on my existence and quietly muttered, this is really good! Crispy beyond any previous onion ring order from any of the, what could be hundreds of orders of rings during my 59 years, and delicious. I savored every bite, licked my fingers, and made happy "mmm mmm" sounds as I partook of this fine deliciousness. We finished everything! Talked about how this particular Morty's has now been labeled a family staple. Our experience is not just made up from the delicious food, friendly atmosphere, free onion rings, and did I mention the delicious food?, no. It's all of these as a whole, bigger experience, making it a unique and favorite beginning to a new year. Absolutely nowhere I have been to does Thai food like this place, and the for the extremists such as myself; Thai Spicy! This place has got to be the best in Utah for a lot of different reasons. Their attention to detail, spiciness, and fresh food is what keeps me coming back again and again! Very addictive. If you are on the curious side but don't want to spend a fortune, I highly recommend their lunch special: Any Two Entrees Lunch which comes with a medium (20 oz) beverage of your choice, an egg roll or a cheese wonton, and your choice of different Curry's and Stir Fry's. I always mix & match and pick one curry and one stir fry to try out the flavors. Curry and Stir Fry comes with your choice of protein: chicken, pork, or beef (for a small additional fee). So far I've tried the Red Curry, Green Curry, Pineapple Curry, and Panang Curry. In regards to the Stir Fry's, I've tried the Black Pepper (OMG...ask for Thai Spicy if you can handle it...Sooo delicious)! Thai Basil Stir Fry and Cashew Nut Stir Fry are equally as good. The Sweet & Sour Stir Fry definitely has a different sauce taste compared to other establishments. Not necessarily my fave, but there really isn't one dish that you can go wrong with. I've also tried their Beef Salad which was abundant in both fresh vegetables and beef. You also can request your spice level on the dressing...so of course I went with the spiciest that they could make and it was fabulous! It also includes a side of white rice. I'm beyond impressed with this restaurant and wish that I lived closer to it. I'd be there everyday (they are closed on Sunday).
