Nice and clean

It has been awhile since I've been here. But Mauro never fail me. It was very good. I ordered the grill tilapia, mongo beans and pinapaitan, and I ate it all. No leftovers. The service is always on point. The place vibe is always positive. Come and check them out.

Beef kare-kare - beef stew with string bean, eggplant, and peanut butter sauce

We just stumbled on this place in a small area where a cluster of Asian eateries are located. We don't have much experience with Filipino food, so we took this random opportunity to try. We came in after lunch hour on Saturday. There were only a couple of people inside, but I saw people come in for takeouts. The lady at the order counter handed us a paper menu, but there were no pictures to show the food. However, we noticed pictures of some popular dishes on one of the walls. So we ordered a couple of items that looked delicious to us. We got the beef kare-kare, which is a beef stew with tripes, vegetables and peanut butter sauce. The peanut taste was obviously there, which we liked. However, it was a bit blend, not savory enough. We did like the beef, eggplants, and some organ meat in it. What we liked much much better was the pinapaitan soup, which is made with beef, heart, and tripes. The broth was very delicious! This was much tastier than the other dish. We also liked the accompanying shrimp paste, which has a sweet, savory salted shrimp flavor. They have other typical dishes, like bbq pork, chicken, etc, if you don't have a liking for organ meat. This place also carries assorted food items, like bread and cake, tapioca drink, instant coffee, canned corn beef, liver spread, spam, and many others. Food is authentic here as the place is run by people from the Philippines. But don't expect too much service here. The one that takes our order was also the one bringing us the food from the kitchen. Like most typical Asian places, you come for the food, not much for the service :) Give it a try. You may find something you like.

Lumpia

The food is great, but extremely small portions. The quality is superior, but for this particular restaurant, I would've expected more quantity that would be par with the quality. The food was good, but I wouldn't come back due to the pricing. Service did not impact my review. Food (3.9/5): Sigsig- Great flavoring and we asked for extra lemon packets. It was good! Lechon Kawali- Good, the skin is very crispy, but lacks some flavor. Pairs well with the sauce that came with it. The sauce very much carried the Lechon. Lumpia- Good as well, but nothing crazy. Dash of herbs made it interesting. The rice given was normal, but the meat and rice ratio was off-wish there was more rice. Service (Average) Since it's a very traditional Filipino restaurant, you can't expect much service. We went on Thanksgiving afternoon and it was not busy, but lots of take out. The lady was nice, but she was busy working, not that great at multitasking. Ambiance (Average): We went on Thanksgiving afternoon and it was not busy. Lots of take out. Looks like every other Filipino market/restaurant. Nothing crazy. Stars deducted to the pricing not validating the food size. Also, the Jumex drink from the fridge was overpriced. $5.99 for that drink was shocking.

Disappointed of the service. It took almost 40 minutes to served the food. I ordered Lumpia, Nilaga, Kare Kare, Sisig and Halo halo. The place is good, lots of table. All the food I ordered are bland in taste. Sisig was burnt, Nilaga meat had an awful taste. Mas masarap pa ang chewing gum i-chew. Frankly speaking! Lastly, the server not friendly, it is expensive not worth a penny. Not to recommend. Needs improvement

Cameron Rellenado & Garlic Fried Rice.
Ashton L.

Highly recommend! I was in search of a fried wrapped shrimp. This shrimp which is not on the menu official, is also stuffed with ground chicken. Usually served with steamed rice but I wanted to try the garlic fried rice. The owner was so nice in explaining and answering all my questions & even added a small history lesson. :) highly recommend!

Pork Sisig

The Pork Sisig is so delicious!! As well as the Lumpia. We will be coming here again and again!

I really do need to venture out and find these hidden gems in the city. A friend of mine found this place for us to try, and I'm so glad she did. It's a small restaurant with some Filipino goodies you can buy while you want. I ended up ordering the chicken inasal and bbq chicken skewers to try. They were both delicious, but I was a fan of the chicken inasal. We ordered lumpias for table, and they were okay. I've had homemade Filipino food before, so I was spoiled with that. Someone had ordered pancit with chicken and veggies, and it was HUGE! You can definitely share that with a few people st the table. Overall, I was pretty happy with the place and will come back to try other things. Parking was easy which is a big plus in my book. No alcohol if you are looking for a place that serves.

Parking: Good and open Staff: very friendly and helpful and patient Experience and interior: good amount of space inside no problems there! Food, is very average. I would try it out if you want something specific. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend but they are very nice so that's the stars.

The only thing that was underwhelming was the SISIG. Other than that the food is definitely good but I would say there was MULTIPLE HAIRS IN MY FOOD. Atleast 5 or more hairs that I found I would have given a 5 star but the hairs threw me off. The wait was also an hour for some foods and i ordered pancit as well and came after we ate most of our food.

Pork Adobo

Very unassuming place outside and in. There is a little area to buy snacks and canned goods, but the food is the main attraction. I have been here twice and the food has been delicious. The menu itself is not very big and it is meat heavy - there really isn't a veggie only option. It has a very family run-vibe, so do not expect stellar service. The food takes a bit long to come out but everything seems made to order. I really liked the chicken insool - good marinade and nice char. The pork adobo what very tender and the meat would fall apart when I smooshed it with a spoon. I have also had the Kare-kare which is unique and peanut buttery rich.

Large Grilled Squid. Not worth the money for this.

The old couple that used to be there were always so friendly and helpful when ordering. They sold the restaurant last year to a younger couple who modernized the restaurant while keeping some of the same flavors. However, we were surprised to see new ownership on our most recent visit. We decided to give it a shot and had a pretty disappointing experience. We came at 5:30pm and pretty much all the food was sold out already. We usually get pork adobo, beef caldereta, chayote, lumpia Shanghai, and pinakbet but they either were sold out or didn't offer any of it. More than half the items they had were sold out which is pretty bad. How does a Filipino restaurant run out of pork adobo! With that said we still ordered food hoping for the best but it wasn't up to previous standards. The tocino only had a few pieces of meat and the garlic rice was very mushy with no garlic flavor at all. The lechon kawali seemed fresh but the fried skin had a mushy texture. Pork sinigang wasn't bad but seemed to be missing some depth to the soup. They wouldn't let us order the sinigang as an entree combo item, which we've always done, so we had to order a whole big bowl of it. The guy explaining things also didn't have the best attitude and seemed flustered while prepping the rice and food to send out. Food took a long time to come out as well. Plus, they have this weird air freshener blowing some strong incense smell that was pretty overpowering. Just overall disappointed with the changes and overall vibe of the restaurant and probably won't come back for the unforeseeable future.

It was pretty big so we didn't have any issues. Seating: Inside seating. Good for pairs or groups. Room for maybe 50-60 people. Vibes: The area is nothing too flashy. It's a suburban area mixed with chain businesses and local gems. The spot itself is an experience. We were lucky as we were welcomed with some afternoon karaoke. It's a spacious space with a compacted grocery on side, dining and karaoke stage, and then passing the food line is an extension to the coffee shop next door. Great place to relax, find your singing community, and enjoying some comforting Filipino food. FOOD / DRINKS Bilao (means wooden platter) (Recommend) You're welcomed with a medley of Filipino good eats - bbq skewers/pork belly, fried tilapia, lumpia, shrimp, egg roll, and rice. This is a traditional delight so if you're looking for the Filipino experience and comforting flavors, this is your best bet. You have flavorful savory meats, vegetal okra, garlic shrimp, and some crispy/cackling fish and lumpia. You definitely need a group of people (5-8) to finish this. Sago't Gulaman (means tapioca pearls and jelly) (Recommend) For a nice refreshing drink, this felt like sweet tea. A good balance of tapioca pearls and jelly that didn't overwhelm the drink. CUSTOMER SERVICE Celine was awesome! Friendly and super helpful as we navigated the menu. TL;DR OVERALL 5 Stars. Good food, reasonable prices and an all in all pleasant experience. Visiting from California and coming from a family of good cooks, I'm quite critical on Filipino food but this hits. I enjoyed the dishes, products, and enjoyed the community vibes they built. For those looking for Filipino comfort flavors or if you're trying it for the first time, definitely check them out!
