I was really stuck and thought I would have to get a local hotel and wait till Sat morning and pretty much lose my whole ski weekend. But the repairman called the part store manager who opened up shop to get part and get me back on the road!! Then he told me there was no extra charges for the time trying to make stocked parts work or waiting for part from store as they should've had in stock. Couldn't believe it as I was pretty much willing to pay whatever since I was in such a bad spot. Best roadside assist call I could have hoped for. Honest guys with real integrity.

We stopped for Coffee in Ludlow around 1pm, and heard a continuous "thump" noise under the car as we slowed down. We searched body shops in the area using Google and in Google Maps and all we saw was "Closed" next to every single business. Every business except Steve's Auto Repairs (which was a sign if you believe in that sort of thing!). We called Steve, explained what we heard and he said to come right over after providing clear directions. First he asked if we thought the car was drivable, which was very thoughtful on his part. We pulled in and Steve was waiting outside for us waving showing us where to park. His house is on the corner of a Main Street (very easy to get to) and next to a Greenery. He was kind and professional, introduced himself, explained what he was going to do and got us settled. He put the car up in the bay, and quickly found the brakes and rotors were metal on metal. He showed my boyfriend and explained what was happening. He made a call to O' Reilley Auto Parts and gave us a VERY reasonable price. He left to go pick up the parts and came back in less than 30 minutes. He fixed the car within 45 minutes after that. He took the car for a quick test drive up the road to make sure there was nothing else wrong. When he got back he mentioned the other sound underneath which was the sway bar but we knew that car (Kia) is known to have that issue. My boyfriend asked if he could take the "bad brakes" back to his mechanic that looked the car over before our trip. Steve said of course and put them in a box for us. We cannot THANK Steve enough for fixing the car, providing exceptional service, treating us with courtesy, and at a very reasonable cost $$. As you can imagine emotions were high as we first got there (worried about the car, $) but Steve had this calming way about him and made us feel safe, and in great hands. Thank you Steve!
