Been going here for a long time. Actually used to see Dr. Cooper when he was in the Square. I'm…read morealways very happy with the dental staff - the schedulers not always so much. This latest is an example. Called at dinner last night for an emergency appointment due to a cracked tooth. The lady on the phone was very friendly, got it all set up. However, when I walked in today there was NO record of my appointment. Fortunately, the staff got me in right away anyhow, and the service there was flawless as always. This isn't the first time we've had problems. In fact, about 3 out of the last 5 times my wife went in they'd screwed up the time and/or date. It's very frustrating, especially when taking time off from work.

Not really sure about what is going on with Tidewater Dental in Lex Park lately. I have been…read morevisiting this clinic for nearly 20 years and have NEVER had a reason to complain until today. Walking into my appointment 10 minutes early, I was handed the clipboard and asked to fill out the paperwork... No problem. Once complete, I placed it on the counter. Once my name was called, I went with the tech and settled down for a good cleaning. There was some confusion at the front desk and one of the receptionists came back to see if I was the "right guy". They all seemed to agree, but then when the hygienist started talking about doing half today and half another time... things just didn't add up or seem right to me. Turns out, they had cancelled MY appointment, and I was sitting in another guy's chair. That would not have been so bad, except for the fact that the lead receptionist tried to gaslight me into believing that she (and her boss) had called (supposedly leaving a voicemail) and tried texting my phone but that I somehow had blocked the number. While she may have tried calling someone, it wasn't me. I showed her the text I received only two days earlier confirming my appointment and nothing since. All of the misunderstanding, yeah... that happens sometimes. It's the trying to shift blame onto the customer for the mistakes of the staff that really makes me question whether they should remain our dentist. The techs are great, the doctors are OK. The front desk leadership is the major issue. Sketchy at best! Without integrity why should we give them our trust?

Dr. Amin and Dr. Strouth are professional, friendly, and always welcoming. My usual hygienist is Sarah, and she's wonderful. I'm so glad she's back after the birth of her sweet new baby, because appointments with her always feel like catching up with an old friend (even if said friend has sharp objects in my mouth lol). They work hard to keep you informed for the whole process, and answer all of your questions (even the ones that might be...dumb. I am very guilty of asking a LOT of questions, and they never make me feel like I'm being a pain in the teeth about it). The facilities themselves are relaxing and comfortable, and the vibe of the office feels more like a spa than a dentists' office. I have so many friends that HATE going to the dentist, but I can't relate because Dr. Amin, Sarah, and the rest of the staff are so great! (Also, my most recent appointment was during COVID's pandemic, and I appreciated the transparency of the precautions they take to keep both patients and staff as safe as possible. I checked in from my car by calling the office, and Sarah called me back when my chair was ready for me and instructed me to wear my mask. There was hand sanitizer available in every room, and everyone wore masks. There's standard questioning at the beginning to be sure you're "safe" and they take your temperature and have you swish with a hydrogen peroxide [I think] solution to minimize any germs during your appointment. Thank you for this attention to detail!)

Dr. Amin was great and was able to take care of what needed done most. Our Missionary was so impressed with how he was treated. I called this morning to make arrangements for payment. Both of the office people I talked to were very professional and kind. I wish I remembered the name of the lady I talked with regarding payment, but it was such a great experience dealing with her. We will definitely use this office again.

NEVER AGAIN hey yes first off I would like to address I was at a dentist office which is a medical…read morefacility. As I walk in The front door a dog was in the building walking around in each room and in the waiting area and I'm allergic to dogs. Also I want to address I paid in full on the receipt $3,400 dollars for a crown, root canal with ice sedation that is what was on my receipt. Then as I walk in the receptionist tells me that I can no longer get my crown I paid for unless another $790 dollars was paid that same day. He said that he thought I had a dentist plan with them and he gave me 20% off. Which is a total lie because when I got my root canal and temporary crown put on I was there with my family he hands me the dental plan paperwork and mind you I'm still on clonidine 2 pills and IV sedation he gave me I needed a driver which I had and said make sure Sabrina signs up for our dentist plan so he knew I didn't have one and then wants to charge me extra and refuse to put my crown on I will make sure I tell friends and family I ended up paying the $790.00 on my CareCredit card and I will NEVER return there EVER again.

The female dentist on duty seemed very confused (however, was at least friendlier then the receptionist). The dental assistant was the only one who was both pleasant and knowledgeable of what her job function was. I came in for the soul reason to fix a tooth that a filling had fallen out of yet still...and ended up leaving with a hole in my mouth. This whole experience with the exception of the dental assistant was unprofessional and horrible. Plus I want to add that I had tried to post this exact comment of their Facebook page and through their Facebook messenger...to only find out that they deleted my post and ignored my message,,,Low ethical business keeping...but then again I would not be surprised if the rude receptionist is the one who deleted my post...
