These are reasonably friendly people, but a bit more reserved than I'd like as a customer. They offer yellow-poplar, pine, red oak, white oak, and I think a few other species like red cedar. This is a great place to buy white oak fence boards---if you buy a "bundle" it will work out to about $3 for a 1 x 6 x 8 (as of early 2014, anyway). Try getting a price like that at Lowe's. You can't even buy white oak there. Just red oak at a ridiculous $40 a board, and poplar for about half that, equally ridiculous. Branmar's fence boards are good enough to sand and use for other things, of course. It's all rough-cut, green lumber. You have to dry it yourself, carefully stacked, with each layer separated by scrap lumber, and the whole thing heavily weighted down. I do so in a big shed that gets a lot of sun and is an absolute furnace all summer long. It takes 6 months to a year to really dry out a board and shrink it down to its stable point. One quibble: When they tell you they'll call you back in a day or two with a price or some other information, they never do. You have to keep after them and keep asking. Overall I'm very glad they're there and satisfied with their service and products.

We are experienced home remodelers and it was great to work with someone who completely met our very high expectations and requirements. Aaron was extremely detail oriented and responsive, had great recommendations for products and colors that would look best with the overall vibe of the house, and kept us informed every step of the process with daily text updates/pictures. We first used them for the countertops in our two bathrooms and were so happy with the result that we returned for our kitchen. The staff and owners were incredibly helpful, spending hours with us as we navigated their vast stone inventory. We finally chose a beautiful dolomite countertop that looks like a summer blue sky on a cloudy day in leathered finish. It truly brightened our kitchen and added a touch of elegance to the room. The installation was meticulous, the communication was excellent, and the price was very reasonable compared to other places we looked at. We also ended up buying our faucets and drawer handles from them. We were impressed with the quality--the faucets are all metal with no plastic parts, and the handles are solid and well-made. When we needed a few extra handles we went to another store because we were in a hurry, we immediately noticed the difference in quality. The handles from Blue Ocean had smooth edges and were a little cheaper, so we went back to order the rest from them. If you need a countertop, they should absolutely be at the top of your list.
