About two years ago, I would have rated this post office with one star, but currently as it stands, the clerk's that are present now are the best. I pray that they keep them up front because, they give new life to this location. I don't currently see the person who gave this location a bad look, and left a bad taste in my mouth, and hope she works in the back or retired. read more

On this particular day, I dropped off several packages. There was no waiting in line which is a disservice for me because I enjoy reading the stationery cards and communicating with other customers. The post office is well lit,clean and clutter free. Also, Its quite spacious inside with lots of room for personal preparation of packing packages. There is usually 2/3 workers at the counter. Outside parking is a little tight, but the dynamics for dropping off packages and mail is total ideal and functional. The workers are usually friendly and willing to help. read more

Let me tell ya about the Matteson Post office on Cicero...what a great experience just joking it was the worst experience ever..went in to mail a package for a customers order one window open no problem another clerk taking on the phone sure it was business. Well she decided to wait on the lady in front of me and then me okay..get to the car look at the receipt the zip code is punched in wrong so the charge was more. I go back in walk up to the same clerk tell her she punched in the numbers wrong might because she was on the phone. This person has the nerve to tell me MIND MY BUSINESS so then an argument begins. 24 hour lobby- the only post office around that has the self check out station available in the lobby 24/7!! You can mail envelopes to boxes with a convenient check out station that weighs your package and you pay according to the destination zip code. During the day, a well staffed (although sometimes slow) counter service. Don't be intimidated by the line as there are several cashiers open. Drive through mailbox in parking lot a bonus for getting your mail out the door as you completed your to do list. read more

As a former mail carrier and clerk, I've sheen my share of what goes on inside the PO, but this location is the worst.The clerks have the worst attitudes, are incompetent on services, and I would not recommend. The experience I just had, out of many other trips here have been stressful. The rude clerk just told me to waste an $18 priority box that is provided free from my vendor because it's not her money. Her exact words... well you are absolutely right it's not yours it's the customers and the citizens of America money. That's why she doesn't care about it and over paid. If they based pay off customer complaints these workers would owe us money at this point. These type of employees have absolutely ruined the entire USPS and that's why I no longer wanted to stand by a cooperation that represents poor service. read more

If you can avoid sending or receiving packages from the Matteson PO, I highly recommend you do so. My neighbors and I have seen our packages sit in their building for days on end. Querying about such (frequent) delays is a total waste of time; this location's employees are masters at giving you the runaround. If you absolutely need to get or receive a package in a timely fashion, do yourself a HUGE favor and deal with UPS or FedEx. read more

Went to post office mail out obituaries for out of town family. I had a total of 8 envelopes. The clerk named Deloris totaled my purchases and I attempted to pay with my debit card. The transaction did not process and Deloris irately stated that I must have done something wrong and for me to redo transaction. Before I could complete transaction she called another customer to her counter. Meanwhile my transaction failed again. Deloris was talking with the new customer and I reminded her that she could only wait on one customer at a time. Also the new customer was closer than 6 feet to me which is a violation of recommended COVID. Deloris irately told me that I could not tell her how many people to wait on at one time. At this point I became angry and asked for her supervisor. A clerk who sat next to her said she was the supervisor and told me to stop yelling. I told supervisor I was not yelling but had raised my voice because Deloris was being rude. The supervisor offered no assistance. I reminded Deloris that I am a customer and deserved to be treated with respect and stated to her that maybe her unprofessional behavior to customers meant it was time for her to retire. Deloris agreed that maybe it was time for her to retire. I told her that I would submit a complaint against het and Deloris sacartistically said go ahead. I would give this a zero rating. It's frustrating to be treated rudely under in circumstances but especially when you are a paying customer! read more

The women who work here are rude and not helpful at all. They also don't know hOw to use their own system to check if a money order is valid and has been cashed. No way i should be doing your job for you. read more

For most of 2017 my mail has been delivered between 5 pm and 7 pm. I did not complain because they are always so nice when I go into the post office, and the self serve station 24/7 is awesome. I receive mail every day, however I have not received any mail since the day before Christmas! I just called the Post Office to complain and was told that they have a shortage of carriers due to recent retirements. They said that a carrier would be out on the route today to deliver all the mail from the missed days. They would not deny or confirm if there would be a mail delivery everyday in the near future. I just think they should have prepared better for these retirements. read more

I have never had an issue when utilizing the services at this branch of the USPS. They are often busy, but handle the workload well. I would give it 5 stars, but the facility itself could definite stand to be freshened up (painted and maintained better). read more

After 22 years of mail being delivered between 10 and noon consistently, now it's showing up after 5pm IF it's delivered at all. Good luck having your inquiry about "mail carrier schedule" handled by anyone patient or informative at the Cicero Ave location. Wtf. read more

Every time I'm running behind with any situation I know that the staff will always make me smile. I like this post office.

I'm not sure who can help me with this post office that happens to be the only one in my town. This is the 4th time there has been a mix-up with a request for mail-hold. I've used this service offered by the Post Office about 7 times in the last couple years and there has been a problem more than half the time. The first two times I made the request on-line and there wasn't a problem; however the 3rd time there was. My mail was delivered the day before I requested. This wasn't safe and with mail theft and identification fraud, I was alarmed by this carelessness. I went into the Matteson, IL station and complained. The manager, Lonnie was very apologetic and stated the regular carrier was on vacation and the sub didn't follow the request accurately. He asked me to come in and let him know the next time I needed a mail hold, so I put the request on line and went into the station and let him know. All was well. The next time the same thing. The last two times, I did the request on-line, but the last one I went inside the station. I didn't request the manager again since I was feeling confident that whatever the problem was it had been worked out. However, once the mail was never held and this last time, it wasn't delivered on the day I requested. I didn't have the energy to go back to the station the time before today; however today I arrived home early enough and I when I arrived to find my mail at the station when it should have been delivered today; I was given the same excuse about the carrier being on vacation. This is unacceptable! read more
