I have an account with the Ulster Bank and I have to say that their student accounts are very, very good and very lenient towards students. But I'm still not 100% satisfied with the service I receive. It took 5 weeks and 6 visits to this branch just to get a bank statement mailed to my house as proof of address so that I could open a business account with another bank. Eventually it was rectified by a lovely customer service advisor. My main issue is with their student credit cards; the call centre who handles payments is based in England, has no clue about the terms of service on student accounts and generally abuse their position. Having said that, Ulster Bank have been the best bank I've had so far and as far as banks go are fairly good, so I can't complain. read more
