Kalib plate

Matiki Island Bbq puts all other Hawaiian Bbqs to shame! The flavor is amazing and they really hook it up. Johnny the manager was very helpful today and cooked my foot to perfection. Much appreciated

Beef Ribs

Very solid. I've had most of the protein, chicken and steak plates are great, the kalbi is good and popular but the beef ribs are the biggest draw to the venue I'd say.

First time doing online order. I got a text when the food was ready. It was painless, I choose all Mac no rice and every plate still had rice. Got double mac with every plate. Beef ribs tasty and huge! Big kahuna was very good and a lot of food. They did forget a side order of side salad. so I took off a star. I have to call them to tell them. Food was still great and we had extra Mac to eat it with. I can't speak on ambiance, I sent my kids inside to get it. Thank you Matiki's!

Matiki's on Eastern!

I'm only in Vegas for a few more days and wanted some Matiki's. So we went to the one closer to my son's house. I have never been more disappointed in Matiki's before. First the portion wasn't like the other two locations. And my food was served with cold hard rice. Only two miles from my son's house and I had to heat up the food. The staff wasn't friendly at all and kind of rude. My steak wasn't tender as the other locations. I would have drove an extra 20 minutes I had enough food from the other locations to feed my grandson and myself with enough left over for the next day. Matiki's you really messed up this time. Check my last review!

Teriyaki chicken plate
Caovinh L.

I ordered the teriyaki chicken plate. It comes with 2 scoops of rice and one extra choice of macaroni/potato salad or salad greens. (This extra choice is also the difference between the plate and the box). It was good, but my chicken was still dry even with the teriyaki sauce (main reason I gave 4-stars). The portion size is A LOT. Most people could probably split into 2 portions. If you're a super hungry person, you'll likely finish it and feel very satisfied. Very good value for your money. They did not take long at all to prepare my order, but I also went during a less busy time. Plenty of seating, whether along the bear-like table, open tables, or a long the wall with cushion seats.

Ordered off of Uber Eats so i didn't dine in. One word... EXCELLENT. I ordered the Kalbi plate and it did not disappoint. Ribs were perfectly cooked, plate was hefty, & delicious!

After seeing Matiki posted all over social media, I knew I had to stop in and try it once their location closest to my home opened. I stopped in on a Friday night to finally try their food. We were greeted right away by the cashier. There was quite a few people waiting for to go orders so I knew it had to be good. We ordered a steak and chicken plate with macaroni potato salad, a single beef rib to try since they're hyped up by all the food bloggers, and a chocolate haupia cake. The dining room was a bit dirty and the music was really loud but we were able to wipe down a table and sit. Our food took a long time to come out but they were extremely busy so it was understandable. The portions are huge. The beef rib was really tender and the meat was sliding off the bone so I can see why they're so popular. The steak and chicken teriyaki were really flavorful. We had enough to take some leftovers home. The chocolate haupia cake was amazing! I'm glad we tried it. It's made by a local bakery here in Vegas. I will definitely order one every time I go. They also sell a lot of Hawaiian candy and treats so if you have any sweet tooth cravings, they got you. Overall, we had a pleasant experience. The food and portions live up to the social media hype. I'll be back.

Love this place. I got the number 1. Sam's plate that's the beef rib plate. Absolutely love it. The flavor is a hit and the meat is not super chewy. Perfectly cooked and tender with burnt ends. A good alternative if they run out of the Beef ribs is the steak box. They give so much steak and it's a great deal considering it's $13.25 compared to the Sam's plate which is $17

Ordered 2 meals lots of food in each carton! Beef Rib plate and chicken and steak plate. Ribs were huge, lots of fat on them, but the meat was very tasty. Came with Green salad and white rice. Steak was plentiful and good. Chicken was too dry, even dipped in sauce. Mac/potato salad was good and came with white rice. Decent prices and very minimal decor. Service was okay, food came out pretty quick.

I had to pick up something real quick for dinner so I decided to stop by this location since it's close to work. This is their newest restaurant and I think it's the biggest one to dine in. It was super quick in and out ordered 10 pieces of beef ribs. I did notice however there was a really cute painting on the wall I remember palm trees and a beach if not mistaken.

Tyler C.

Do yourself a favor, get the beef ribs! The prices, quality of food, and efficiency here is just commendable! From jump, the service is friendly and helpful. I had a lot of questions about the desserts and despite not even ordering one, the girl at the counter was happy and willing to educate me. We ordered two orders of beef ribs because for under $20 a plate, it was too good of a deal to miss on. Each portion was definitely hearty and the meat was incredibly juicy, flavorful and tender. I wasn't in love with the Mac salad, personally, but my partner was a big fan on his entire plate. Definitely a great Hawaiian food spot.

Fatty beef rib, no meat
Leslie M.

This was my first time here at the Henderson location. I wanted to get the beef ribs everyone raves about. I had a bite from a friend at the Jones location and was looking forward to having my own plate. I was disappointed. 2 of the ribs were literally all fat. I know that beef ribs are a fatty cut of meat which to me is flavor but this was literally fat and no meat. The other pieces, the rib had barely any meat and it just wasn't seasoned well. At $20 a plate I expect more quality. I did have the Kalbi which was good and seasoned well. I don't care for their Mac salad. It has potatoes in it which to me is just a filler. The Mac salad needs some salt and was a little on the dry side. I believe Everything is made to order because it takes like 20 minutes to get your food. The seating is a little weird. They only have about 8-10 tables and then 1 really long bar stool type of table that seats about 15-20 seats. It's just a little awkward bc you feel like you are imposing on other people sitting across from them. I would come back to try more food but I don't think I would get the ribs again.

I couldn't decide between a 3 or 4, so it would be a 3.5. First time here and ordered food to go. It wasn't busy when we arrived and placed our order. We realized although there was only one couple there, they had a lot of food for pick up; but it wasn't too long of a wait. The restaurant was clean and very colorful. They packaged our food well and off we went. The portions are huge. We ordered the Beef Rob Plate and the Chicken & Kalbi Plate. Both plates with Mac & Rice. The food was good but we personally wanted a little more flavor to it. Some of the Beef Ribs didn't have much meat on them but since the portion was oversized it seemed to make up for it on other pieces. The cashier was friendly. It's in a strip mall with lots of parking available.

Naturally, we decided there was no way we were leaving Las Vegas without trying it. First things first.... these hours are... interesting. They're only open from 11am-5pm, Wednesday through Sunday, so plan your life accordingly, lol!! We came right when they opened on a Saturday because I heard the lines get serious later in the day. Pro tip: worth it!!! The place itself is super clean and welcoming, which immediately set the tone. What we ordered (aka the greatest hits): * Sapasui (noodles w vegetables & meat) - perfectly seasoned, comforting, and impossible to stop eating. * Povi Masima (coned beef brisket) - brined just right and not overly salty like some other spots (huge win). * Paifala (pineapple half moon pie) - piping hot, fresh out of the oven. We actually had to wait five whole minutes for it... and I'd gladly wait ten more. Light, buttery, flaky perfection. * Talo & Fa'i (taro & plantain, the starch to pair w entree) - perfectly simmered with great texture, and that coconut sauce? Chef's kiss!!!! * Palusami (taro leaves simmered in coconut milk) - theirs has povi in it!! I've never had palusami with meat before and now I'm wondering why everyone isn't doing this. Soooo good!!!!! Long story short: everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I 100% understand why my colleague hyped this place up... and yes, we'll absolutely be back the next time we're in Vegas. Thanks Josh K for the delish recommendation!!! This is where you go to GRUB if you are down for a mom&pop restaurant where the food tastes AMAZING. I keep going back for the Tomato Beef over rice but the Teriyaki Chicken is seriously next level. The chicken skin is crispy and the meat is juicy and tender. (Most places use dry chicken breast for teri chicken, but here it's flavorful and juicy!) The Kalua pork is great too, and the spicy Korean chicken isn't crazy spicy but it has a ton of flavor. Locals love it because the food is affordable, the portions are solid, and the chefs clearly take pride in what they're cooking. It really feels like a home style Hawaiian plate lunch. Loco Moco Burrito: A standard loco moco is $13 and the burrito is $17. I need to see why I'm paying $4 more. During my first visit, you get the tortilla, fried rice, good mac, a patty that had room for improvement, and a stock standard mushroom gravy. My last visit, the tortilla had burned spots/segments, the fried rice is now a plain rice, the mac was still good, the patty is now at least consistently restaurant level, but the gravy was extremely salty. In short, I'm paying $4 more to put a loco moco in a tortilla wrap, and they can't get all the ingredients working in harmony. Rolls: These at least remained consistent. A little too heavy on the unagi sauce taste, but at least I could tell the difference between the 2 unagi based rolls that we ordered. Service: I can't stress this enough. I DO NOT blame the service staff. Having said that, the rolls took around 10 mins, which is more than reasonable. We waited 25-30 mins for the loco mocos. The restaurant was empty when we entered, and only 1-2 tables tables were filled well into the wait. When we enquired if the food was ready, we were told that the kitchen was busy. I hate to be that guy, but I saw no one pick up their orders during the meal, and those who were seated did not order before us. Maybe the beef patties came from the freezer, or maybe there is a more innocent explanation. It didn't help that the food arrived with issues (ie. The burnt tortilla, super salty gravy, a busted egg (callback to the first review, but it's not a big deal)). A heads up would be nice, instead of leaving us wondering. Ambiance: Same as before.

The best of the grab and go food would be the variety of different Hawaiian cookies and some servings of guava or chantilly cake in a fridge. I, otoh, was in search of pork hash! I ended up choosing two of da brown box so i could try the manapua too. I had to wait for a fresh batch of hash which I didn't mind at all. However, I had no idea they are fried. I had this idea they were steamed like shui mai. After a short wait I walked out with my boxes. Excited, I opened the boxes on the dining table! Manapua were okay. Fluffy bun almost neutralized the flavor of the bbq pork (which is well flavored). I've never been a big bao person so I'm not the best one to judge. Just curious to try! The hash were more my thing. The inside is juicy and flavorful! Love the water chestnuts. However, I don't think frying was the best treatment to emphasize that flavor. A box was $11.75 which is a nice surprise since most menus indicated it was closer to $18. Probably won't be back but glad I went on my last day in LAS for this week to try!
