Her slide presentation, resources, and skillsets of the subject matter were fantastic and insightful. The class consists of lecture, slide presentation, sample "difficult conversation" worksheet that we all had a chance to partner up with and worked through using our desire experiences and outcome. This is a 2 hour class and it just flew by. Wished it was a half-day or a full-day immersion session. This is a subject matter that everyone can learn and benefit from. The workshop was virtual but just as engaging as it would have been if it were in-person. I left the workshop feeling empowered and invigorated to think of public speaking differently. Schooling vigourously at Applauden academy really supported me in many ways. Ms. Mira and Alex truly took my writing abilities to a much more advanced standard. And Jon graciously helped with my SSAT prep for high school and my school work. And last but not least I want to thank Max. His tremendous help with my BCA exam really broadened my math capabilities and his positivity really encouraged me. When I took the BCA test, it was HARD. VERY HARD! But, with the tips and practice that I obtained from learning at Applauden Academy, I tried my absolute best. Even though I may not get into BCA, I know that the experience of applying and preparing for it was very beneficial. And especially my experience at Applauden. The motivation center is a place where you can earn toys like a wig, pop its, nerf guns, play - doh, cool face masks and even pop toys! To earn things, form the motivation center you need to earn tokens from each session, for the first session you get double tokens (16). Each session is 8 tokens. With the tokens you can get things from the motivation center. The tutors are great! :D They have helped me to write an extended R.A.C.E.R to an MLA essay. There are multiple tutors. It's like going to school but int the afternoons. (I love school and Sylvan learning) ;)

For those with an Eastern European background, the model is familiar: source the best students and make them better through learning at the knee of some very gifted educators. Our 10 year old attends a Saturday math enrichment class taught by Dr. Orlov -- a wonderful educator whose credentials include a lengthy stint in mathematics education at Bergen Academies -- where he teaches the best and the brightest. The strong ethnic flavor of this school may seem daunting for non-Russian speakers -- but all classes (except for Russian of course) are taught in English by fully bilingual instructors. If you want to give your son or daughter a leg up in math, chess or art -- School Plus might be a good choice. Tuition is reasonable and the FDU campus is a convenient hop off Route 4.

The school is well organized and the staff is accommodating. I've done kumon in the past for my kids, I think, after 1st grade, this is much much better and teaches in line with common core so it's not entirely different for the kids from their schoolwork. Overall, we are very happy.
