I take medication for ADHD, medicine I've been taking since I was a teenager. She asked such abrupt questions like "Have you ever considered NOT taking it?" and "Why do you feel you need this?". She then went on to say to explain how the country is suffering from prescription drug abuse and came off incredibly offensive. I am not a drug seller or user. I do not profit off a medication that allows me to work as close to a normal life as possible. I continued to see her despite her aggressive attitude against my medicine. However over the months she became more and more unhelpful and just recently decided on her own accord to change the medication I've been taking for over 12+ years and cutting it in half due to a miscommunication that she didn't bother to ask me to explain. She assumed I had been "inconsistent" in my prescriptions being filled. She has been nothing but a hindrance and anyone looking for a doctor willing to work with you instead of against you is better off looking elsewhere. Don't bother trying to switch out to another Aurora doctor at the same location, they told me they wouldn't/couldn't transfer patients.

However, I have been to other hospitals and to be quite honest I was not expecting this place to be very good. My providers have been great at active listening and then ensuring all my concerns are heard. There is also a resident there that saw me the other day after I had emergency dental surgery elsewhere and she was amazing. She even let me know that she did not like some of the symptoms I had been having but wanted to keep an eye on them. Told me to call back if they keep persisting. Ran a blood test to see if I had an active infection and that I should have the results the next day. I kid you not, I got in the car and about 15 minutes later my Dr. called and let me know that my labs were fine. That's impressive! They also have valet parking which is very helpful since it can be a bit of a nightmare trying to find parking there. But everyone I talked to or interacted with there was nothing short of kind and helpful so far.

I've always received good care and treatment from the staff at the VA Zablocki Medical Center. The…read morespecialists primarily come over from Froedtert Medical to treat Vets, and they're some of the best anywhere. The building is showing its years, but the equipment is all current, and the staff are up to date on all current medical technology and procedures. I know, I do my own research and ask questions, which I think prudent when trusting to any medical system anywhere, anytime your health is at stake They've saved my life at least once already!
