Materials Research Society is headquartered in Pittsburgh and serves the Materials Science and Engineering community. It holds a major international conference held in Boston each November, the week after Thanksgiving. It helps holds another in the Spring on the West Coast. These major conferences are complemented by a large number of smaller more specialized conference. The are responsible for publishing a number of important international journals, including the Journal of Materials Research (in conjunction with Cambridge University Press) and the Materials Research Bulletin which has monthly topical coverage organized by guest editors.
