They don't sell individual ties for events, but they manufacture ties to the exact specifications that you give them. Maddocks custom make ties at quantities higher than 10, and would be the perfect place to turn to if you want a tie for a sports club or for a society. The shop also had signs that boasted of having sold their ties to several blue chip organisations such as Marks and Spencers and even international rugby teams. They also do tailor made ladies scarves here too.

From the outside, the shop seems quite dated but when you wonder in a lot of their stock whether its clothes, books, children's toys, or even CD's are not that old. The shop really does have a great range of items for a charity shop, and when I was in it was quite busy with young and old trying to find a bargain. However, as already been mentioned in past reviews, this charity shop raises money for a very worthy cause. It is a charity which is not as well known as others, and certainly I had never really heard of it before. However, this shop seems to have a good flow of customers and recently people have started to turn to these kind of shops. Most likely Portobello's most impressive charity shop.

They do important work with those who have chest, heart and stroke illnesses; all of which are common today. Their shop in the Portobello area is one of a few different charity shops in the area. I agree with Marj; Portobello is not really full of good places to shop, and so these charity shops are doing a good job. Inside, it's a fairly well sized place, with the normal selection of items made up from public donations. They were doing an offer of 2 CDs for £1, and there were definitely some great deals to be had in that department, if you can cope with the fact that someone else has already owned the CD. There were a fair few people coming in and out when I visited, so clearly this place is well used by the community. Sometimes these smaller or less well known charities can be overshadowed by their larger counterparts, and it's good to see that this charity is trying to raise its profile. Let's hope that the community continue to use and support them.

It sells jumpers, dense cotton t shirts and trousers designed to be comfortable as much as fashionable enough. Prices are very reasonable, and the staff will help you out if you need anything. It reminds me of clothing stores such as Bon Marche or Habitat. I may be off the mark, but the pastel colours and cooling cargo pants aren't too far away from the fashinons sold in these high street outlets. Great for women who are looking for something functional and bright to wear, C & M Ladieswear is typical of clothing stores you often see near Britain's beaches - laid back, affordable and a wee bit different from the high street brands.

Situated on the far end of the Portobello High Street this shop does not appear very grand from the outside. Indeed, the front of the shop is quite minimal, not bland, but not trying to stand out in the crowd of shops. Inside, as you expect is a great range of ties and scarves for all. From formal to more modern ties, this shop has it all (albeit, in a limited number). Also, the scarves on offer are not just your normal woolly, winter scarves but also come in the form of silk scarves, scarves which are very much suitable for summer weather! The shop was quite quiet when I visited it, indeed the atmosphere of this quiet shop really did match its appearance. The prices are quite expensive, but for a good quality tie and scarf I would not be complaining. However, part from that, there were many stylish ties to buy, and I may even pay this shop a visit again for a classy tie.
