They have different genres and have updated reads.I went with my mom recently and she purchased the diet book, Wheat Belly and a couple Chicken Soup for the Souls, and I was amazed by the current books they have in stock. The owner is in the know with different books that are trending. They also have used books as well. This is a great book store for the town of Bancroft and they have some pretty good deals. When we got there, a female staff member was starting to remove her books from the display outside. We had to pick up the browsing pace a bit inside the store. It is a small bookstore, but has its own charm. There were planners with colourful covers. Books were nicely organized by topic. It felt cozy browsing around. The store has wood panelling and floors. The rewards program at this bookstore is called Camp Penguin. I like anything that features penguins. If I lived closer, I'd enroll in the program. You get a canvas tote as a welcome gift. This place has the cutest pins, from owls with impeccable grammar, to declaring your love for nerds. There are some great gift ideas at this bookstore. The book drunkard festival takes place in Uxbridge. You see it being advertised towards the front of the store. Uxbridge is also known as the trail capital of Canada. Folks are so proud of this fact that you can get merchandise, such as caps and shirts, to flaunt this piece of trivia. My favourite section was the Mr. Men and Little Miss books. They still look like the ones that I grew up with. The characters also make me smile. We didn't buy anything, but were happy to browse before the store closed for the day. (312)

Then again, a lot of semi-rural and outside big city communities tend to get overlooked unless there's a huge draw. Anyhow, this is a charming little bookstore. There's not a gigantic amount of stock, but it is well curated, carrying titles from current ones, to the Canada Reads finalists, to classics. One thing I was disappointed about, and I don't think this is their fault per se, is this. Uxbridge is touted as "Canada's Hiking Capital." Did I see any hiking books? I saw a couple of the memoir type hiking books, but the actual useful type ... nothing. There were maps .. but they were canoeing maps. My quest for a "real" hiking book for Canada continues unfulfilled.

You won't find every book ever published here, jammed together in a way that makes it difficult to find anything. Instead you will find books that you might actually be interested in, and staff who are more than knowledgeable to help point you in the right direction. When popping your head in to look around it's important that you make your way up the stairs to the back to find the little reading nook, and the genre sorted texts. Normally a bookstore that sells merchandise with their name on a, like bags and sweaters might seem a little bit off. But, I could definitely see myself rocking a shirt from this location. It's a great reminder of your hometown, or your vacation away. When walking down main Street Huntsville you have to be sure to pop in.

It offers a radical departure from the characteristic big box book stores that have spread like locusts and seem to anchor prime real estate in many of your favourite strip malls. The Bookcase offers a comfortable refuge in which to peruse until ones heart is content. There is zero pressure to purchase and a fireplace with wing backed chairs beckon you to cozy up. You will feel entirely at home here. The primary reasons I couldn't justify a higher rating were only minor but must be mentioned. there was no magazine selection and I know some might say that a traditional bookstore shouldn't offer such, but I love my magazines. Also selection did tend to be limited-which I do understand is simply due to a lack of shelf space. If there was a half star option I would definitely give it a 3.5, yet I simply couldn't go up to a 4 star. the Bookcase is however unquestionably worth a stop. After cramming your cranium at The Bookcase, Soul Sistas cafe is only steps away and affords you the opportunity to nourish your body with a decent selection of assorted smoothies and beautiful spinach crusted quiches.
