I first heard about Jennifer's Collection prior to traveling to Istanbul during an online search for Turkish towels. After a private city tour, our guide also recommended this shop and said it's worth the visit. As soon as you step inside the showroom, it is obvious that this place is top quality. The weight of the towels, softness and vibe here is exactly what we were looking for in Turkey. We ended up buying several towels and most importantly custom made robes for us. We picked out the towels to be used and then went to the exclusive showroom for a tailored fitting. It took just a few days for the robes to be made and worth the wait. Haci, our salesman, was friendly, answered all of our questions, and made us feel welcome throughout the process. Sipping apple tea was a good way to relax and think through our choices. The shop's owner is from Canada, so this is more of a fixed price shop, but you can receive a little discount the more you buy. The shop is conveniently located in the Arasta Bazaar, about a 10 minute walk from historic sites like the Blue Mosque. We actually preferred this Bazaar over the larger Grand Bazaar as it has more local crafts. Come over and check out Jennifer's shops and take home a piece of Turkish crafted pride.

I've used it endlessly and loved it, but I always knew I wanted a genuine peshtemel, woven the traditional way. So while in Istanbul, I set out to find the real thing--not factory-made, but crafted on old-style looms. What I discovered was so much more than just a towel. I found Jennifer's Hamam. And even more special, I met Jennifer herself--the remarkable woman behind this incredible business. She has dedicated her life to preserving the art of authentic, hand-loomed Turkish towels. She welcomed us warmly, shared her story, and gave us a personal tour of her showroom, explaining why these true peshtemels are so rare today. This was such a meaningful and unforgettable experience. We felt incredibly lucky to meet her at her shop in the Arasta Bazaar--and truly grateful she shared her story with us. If you're looking for a rare, authentic, and truly special Turkish towel, I can't recommend this enough! Truly a special experience!

Not so. With the hundreds of pushy/disinterested/questionable vendors touting questionable "cashmere" and/or "pashmina," this was a breath of fresh air. Our day at the Grand Bazaar started with this shop and ended with it. Our initial visit, we briefly looked around and left to check out other stores. On our return to the store at the end of the day, Yusuf (who owns the store with his brother) welcomed us back and actually left the store to give us space to look around. While we were looking, he didn't bombard us with information as most vendors tend to do. Yusuf wasn't pushy at all and frankly, he doesn't need to be as the quality of their products really speak for themselves. We chatted for quite a bit and at the end of our visit, purchased a few very beautiful cashmere/silk wraps. A wonderful experience in an otherwise frustrating experience at the Grand Bazaar. Highly recommend to those looking for high quality shawls/wraps.
