Words are not enough to express how thankful my family are to Cristina and Gloria who took care of our daughter for a year from January 2022-February 2023. Our daughter began at Masterminds when she was 2 1/2 years old and recently transitioned to preschool. Masterminds is very clean and organized childcare. I have visited various childcares that they failed to maintain the place clean for the wellbeing/safety of the children. Cristina and Gloria did a great job providing safe environment for my daughter. They have provided us feedback anytime I asked them how my daughter did for the week and they supported my daughter in any areas that she needed help. I appreciate that both Cristina and Gloria had good energy all the time and I could tell that they really enjoy being around children. They are patient, caring and loving! Childcare has a pretty large backyard where children can play outdoor. Also, the neighborhood is safe and it is closed to the freeway. I took some pictures on our last day so I could show to my daughter when she gets older. I highly recommend Masterminds if you are looking for a safe place for your child to grow and learn. We will miss you so much!

We looked at multiple facilities, but felt right at home when we toured Super Munckins Academy. The teachers Michael, Romaria, and Liliane are all very kind and caring. I have seen them treat all the children as if they are family. My son has always been excited at drop off, relieving a lot of anxiety when we first started daycare and every day after. I always know that he is in good hands and am never stressed or worried during the day. Every time we pick him up he is smiling ear to ear. They provide frequent status updates and photos throughout the day which is much appreciated. They also utilize baby sign language as well which really helped foster our son's communication skills. In addition to this they taught my son to say please/thank you before 18 months which, I will tell you, is the cutest thing ever. They do daily teaching activities and go to the park as well. They get a lot of outdoor play as well which my son loves. They are able to accommodate special requests as well (ie early nap time if needed based on appointments). Both my husband and I work 8-5 most days so we were worried about finding a place that could accommodate our work hours. Michael worked with our schedule and was able to plan early drop off/pick up for us which was much appreciated! They even are able to provide weekend care with advanced notice if one of the teachers are available.

My husband and I really appreciate the atmosphere this home-based daycare provides as it is important that young children enjoy their early years from infant-preschool. It is more than a family based daycare (note 14 kids is the maximum enrollment) as the program mimics preschool curriculum and teaches kids ABCs, shapes, coloring, name writing and whole lot more. Special kudos for introducing different languages- they speak Spanish and Portuguese and this place is well diverse. The teachers are all very caring and attentive to her needs and have been instrumental in her preparation for kindergarten. Each day (weather permitting) the kids have outdoor play and they visit different neighborhood parks, visit the library, and seasonal parks. One of the many perks is that they utilize the Bright Wheel App where they post many pictures and short videos throughout the day, so parents can see how their children are up too:) The location is ideal too as the home is next to SMPD, library, various shops and minute away from Foster City, 101/92 freeways. I too, agree that Super Munchkins Academy is a true gem and we are so grateful to have our daughter go there. She always talks highly of her teachers and her friends she has made along the way. If you are in the Peninsula and looking for a daycare/preschool for your child, do not hesitate to contact SMA and get on their waitlist. THANK YOU so much Super Munchkins Academy for you all that you do. PS- the photos here are a bit outdated as they have renovated their home. Check out the backyard- it is phenomenal!

Our daughter was about 14 months old and she was one of the younger kids in the crew but that benefitted her because the other kids coddled her and she advanced rapidly. She was fully potty trained, came home with a new song almost every day, and called Lucy her best friend! Lucy is soo good with the kids and she lets them play and learn under her careful guidance. We also rarely had sick days or any Covid closures because she keeps the place soo sparkling clean!! Our daughter was also very comfortable being dropped off by us on a random basis at Lucy's place, which would not be the case for kids if it's not a welcoming environment. Today our daughter suddenly talked about missed going to "the house with a playground inside with the caterpillar" (it's actually a play area in the house, though they do have a nice small playground across from the house). Since Lucy's was the only daycare that we've sent our daughter to, we asked if she remembered Lucy. She said yes and that Lucy was kind to the kids and she likes that place. It's reassuring to know that our daughter had a happy experience there and she still remembers Lucy fondly after all these years since she was only a toddler then.

From the very beginning, I felt like we had found something truly special. She was always so excited to go every day. She knew the names of her little friends and would talk about them at home. They celebrated birthdays together, had the cutest little activities planned, and it was clear how much thought and love went into everything Laura did. It was honestly the most heartwarming environment. Laura and her helpers, especially Eva, took such beautiful care of Charlie. She absolutely adored all of them, but she formed a particularly sweet bond with Eva. What I loved most was how Laura cared for the kids like a loving grandmother--she would cook for them, play with them, and create a warm, homey environment that felt safe and nurturing. Her home is always clean and organized, with thoughtful activities set up for both babies and toddlers. She also has a lovely front yard with grass and toys where the kids can run around and enjoy some fresh air. As a mom, it meant everything to me that Laura always kept me updated. She would send me photos and little notes about Charlie throughout the day--eating, playing, napping--and toward the end of the day, she'd usually text me again. Sometimes we'd even chat back and forth about Charlie like I was texting a friend. That level of communication and care gave me so much peace and trust. I'm deeply grateful for the love and attention Laura gave Charlie during such an important stage in her life. If you're looking for a daycare where your child will be genuinely cared for, Laura is an amazing choice. You won't regret it. She's kind, attentive, and has created a beautiful space for little ones to thrive.

Our son grew leaps and bounds in the year that he was with MSC. He went from crawling and babbling to confidently walking and becoming more sociable and talkative with their encouragement and guidance. They have helped him blossom into a confident and curious little explorer. They created an amazing environment that really fostered a sense of community with the other parents and children that attended MSC. The only reason our son isn't there right now is because we moved to another country, and we only wish we could take them with us wherever we go. Vika is an amazingly clear communicator, keeps a spotless home, and has a contagious passion for childcare and FUN. Without fail, after dropping our kiddo off, we would get a photo of her eating breakfast or playing with friends before we made it to work. It was like we were there with her throughout the day, and what days they were! Vika is a master at designing activities that are fun, original, and educational. The kids learned to use so many different mediums of art, each with different sensory experiences. The crafts our daughter brought home were legendary. I have kept so many of these pieces, and some are even hanging in my her room. They're literally art. There is so much singing, dancing, and outdoor play during every day. My kiddo learned how to count to 16 and started learning her ABCs by the time she turned 2. Vika is also an excellent chef. I found myself getting jealous of the amazing lunches and snacks she provided the kids. She prides herself at shopping at local farmers markets and cooking with the freshest organic ingredients. I learned so much from her and still use her recipes today. But, more important than all of these things, Vika is one of those rare people who seems to have been born to be with children. Her love for them, and the way she understands each of their personalities and adapts her style to their needs is a joy to witness. My daughter forged some amazing friendships with the other kids in her daycare, many of whom we are still friends with today. My kiddo often came home with her hair in fancy hairdos with braids and sparkly clips and sometimes a hidden stuffed animal in her bag (just because she loved it and Vika thought she should have it). I never doubted that my baby was with someone who loved her all day when she was with Vika. Not only that, but someone who was extremely competent and who put her safety above all else. I honestly don't think anyone will ever measure up to Vika. If you ever find yourself lucky enough to find a spot for your child with her, do not hesitate.

As a first time parent, I was of course focused on setting up my son for the best academic future possible and was looking at academically focused pre-schools like Stratford. Visiting that school, I had a mixed feeling of hope for the future, and sadness to see pre-schoolers lined up in those tiny desks doing work. The playground was quiet on the day I visited and there was a little girl crying. Was it really necessary to start my baby boy on the Gerbil wheel of life so soon? In contrast, my first impression of Petite Sorbonne was of the crazy noise and sound of laughter. It was a bit overwhelming initially, but it seemed like kids were everywhere. As Teacher June gave me a tour of the grounds (a large Victorian house), she was interrupted every few minutes by a kid giving her a hug or telling her "I love you". The kids just played together and were so happy, the way childhood is supposed to be. I went with my gut. I'm writing this review with the benefit of hindsight. My son is now in 4th grade and at the top of his class academically. He's in the honors class at Russian school of Math. But most importantly, he truly loves learning, has what seems to be a bottomless well of curiosity, and makes friends so easily. Teachers June and Vanessa are the most amazing educators and developers of global citizens. We've had two children attend years ago and they still have lasting friendships! We're back with our 3rd child, and we're glad we came! Parking can be a little annoying, and cost wise, doesn't make sense for part time as there isn't that much of a difference between full and part time (as it essentially takes a spot). And your child must be "mostly" potty trained to attend. There are cheaper options, but there are also considerably more expensive options as well in the area.
