Almost 3 1/2 years ago, my 4 year old son won a free month trial at Master Moon's TKD as a school carnival prize. Martial Arts was not something that my wife and I had ever considered for our family, but we decided to give it a try. I am so glad we did! The Little Tigers program is absolutely amazing! My son absolutely loves learning TKD, and as parents, my wife and I are constantly impressed with the life skills he has learned at MMTKD. Focus, Team Work, Respect, Self Control, Goal Setting, and Patience, to name a few, are taught from Day 1 by Master Moon and his Amazing Team of Instructors. After the first year, MMTKD held a "Family Month" where Moms, Dads, and siblings could join students in class for free. My two daughters and I jumped at the chance to give it a try. Since then, TKD has become a huge part of our family's life. My 10 year old daughter loves the supportive instructors at MMTKD. The instructors use a "praise, challenge, praise" approach when working with their students and it really makes a difference. My 13 year old daughter really enjoys the physical challenge of TKD. Fantastic Taekwondo instruction. My son and I have attended this program for several years. The instructors are amazing and have a nice balance of professionalism, humor, and discipline that is welcoming and open to anyone. One unique offering are their family classes, allowing kids and parents to practice together. They do a great job with kids, and offer camps during summers and school release days. Another thing I really appreciate about this school is the attention to cleanliness (it doesn't smell like a locker room) and has lots of bright space and sunlight. There's is a happy feeling here. I take TKD at Master Moon's World Class Tae Kwon Do with two of my grandkids (8 and 13). It is a professional dojang, with the Masters and instructors all very friendly, and make the workout both effective and very fun. I go three times a week and it helps me to be in better physical shape, learn self defense and is one of the best activities with our grandkids we could have. I was dragged into Master Moon's TKD school by my wife. Our son wanted to take TKD classes (some of his classmates in day school were doing so) and my wife thought we could try the family classes. I had never tried any martial arts before and I am not even particularly athletic. Now, after a bit over a year, we are addicted - we try not to miss a single class. It is excellent exercise that I highly recommend - my body feels much better than it felt several years ago. It helps you preserve / enhance your range of motion, speed, agility, strength, body control, balance, etc. The instructors are superb not only technically, but also from a coaching perspective - they observe each person individually and push each person to achieve their individual potential. The atmosphere is great - the environment (both staff and students) is very supportive and encouraging and we have made lots of friends. Master Moon is great with kids (he seems to particularly enjoy the little ones and they enjoy him). He has the charisma of being very friendly but also firm at the same time. His talks are inspirational. The TKD school helps the little ones learn discipline, respect, focus, dedication, etc. - qualities which benefit them in other aspects of their life (home, day school); we have seen a big positive difference in our son. These traditional values will also serve them well for the rest of their lives as they compete in a global, demanding economy. The instructors work very hard and they are extremely attentive to detail; they spare no effort to do things right. There are often 3 or 4 masters in the room (which is not common in TKD schools), along with several black-belt assistants. It has been a year since my child and I have signed up to join Master Moon's dojang. We continue to love it and are committed wholeheartedly to do all we can to be the best Tae Kwon Do students we can be and achieve the goals we have set for ourselves. There are many great things about being part of the school. For instance, there are options for classes that we can attend -- either the class for my child's belt, adult classes for me, or we can go together in a family class. The class schedule is accommodating for families with busy schedules. The school hosts an in-school tournament and competes in tournaments with other schools as well as conducts a board breaking fundraiser to benefit Shriners Hospital. It offers opportunities to learn from guest instructors who are masters at other schools, a summer camp, movie nights, open house, and holiday activities. If the school-aged students arrive early for their class and need time to work on schoolwork first, there is a nice, cozy, enclosed space away from the mats for them to do so, complete with lockers, desks, and chairs. This past summer, our school had the opportunity to work with a spectacular Tae Kwon Do team from Korea. We learned a great deal from them and watched them put on an awe-inspiring, epic performance. There is a wonderful team and family atmosphere in the school. My child and I have made many friends. It is always great to see one another in class or get together outside of classes. We enjoy working with our friends, cheering for one another, and helping each other reach our Tae Kwon Do goals. Our instructors are extremely patient, kind, and set high but achievable expectations. They want us to be our best and they help us accomplish this. They are passionate about teaching, and we can see and feel this in all that they do. They also have a great sense of humor and make class fun. We have seen our instructors test for their belts and we know how hard they must have worked to perform the masterful skills they did. They understand what it's like to be in our place as students because they, too, are continuing to hone their skills and push themselves further even though they are already masters. They set a great example for everyone. Yes, students must work hard to earn a tip or the next belt. After all, they are earned, not given. But that is the same in anything in life. As with any class or program in any schools, be it martial arts or any other sport, painting, drawing, singing, acting, dancing, playing an instrument, debate, academic team, solving math problems, etc., students must be dedicated and committed. They must be responsible for and take their learning seriously, as well as make time outside of school to practice the skills they need to continually improve. Students in Tae Kwon Do, including at Master Moon's, must be prepared to put in the time and effort required to get promoted to the next belt. Tae Kwon Do is not just a sport. It is more than that, and Master Moon's school makes sure students know this. Tae Kwon Do is a way of life. My daughter wanted to be a ninja. That is how this all started. Step one- Learn Martial Arts So we did research. Our daughter loved to do kicks so it would seem that Tae Kwon Do was going to be the best fit for her. Looking up the best places in the south and Master Moon's Came up. We went in to learn more about it and see if it was really something that my kid wanted to do. They sat us down and talked us through everything we could expect. A little over two years later and here we are with a Kid who has learned great focus and hard work. Taekwondo was a wonderful fit for her and I can't imagine going anywhere else. I'll start by saying that Master Moon's TKD has been a great experience for me. I'm 52 years old and they have helped me through 2 years of great workouts. The instructors always take time to teach one on one. They understand my limits and helped me realize my limits as well. I really appreciate that Master Moon will help us perfect as best that we can and I realize he can't be everywhere for all classes but his instructors are very good at their art so I don't feel like I'm missing out on of their expertise. I am not directly connected to Master Moon's Tae Kwon Do but I have seen what they have done for my neighbors. I have watched them, as a family, participate in demonstrations both on stage and in a parade. They've hosted a Korean demonstration team in their home. The children are mature beyond their years both in their interactions with me, the neighborhood, and my grandchildren. We went in after we saw the trial period on the website for $29. and wanted to try it. Instead the man in the office said that was not valid and pressured us into 6 months for $975.00! We should never have done it. They charge you for every little thing after that huge monthly payment. It's VERY expensive and not worth it. Master Moon himself is not teaching directly very often, instead they have several assistants. The kids try hard but get very little rewards for their work. My son always felt like he wasn't doing well enough instead of feeling good about himself. It's also very crowded and hard to find a place to sit and watch.They give away a "good job metal" about once a month to one kid so with 30 kids that's every 3 years your kid will get a reward. Terrible! We like Taekwando but will look for a different place to take lessons. read more

There's a reason this studio has grown quickly in the last couple of years.. it's the very best. You will not find more dedicated, enthusiastic, experienced instructors and they all have a gift for teaching kids. The atmosphere is one of learning, respect and fun. Three years into it, my 6-year old son is so much more disciplined and my 9-year old daughter (who's getting her black belt this summer) is much more confident. More importantly, they've both learned the importance of integrity, sportsmanship, respect and even punctuality. As far as large class sizes, yes some classes can be very full. But students will get what they put into it. Each student will get as much attention as he/she needs, but there has to be some degree of self-motivation as well. I've never met a parent who's had a negative experience here. It's an extremely inclusive family environment and I cannot speak highly enough about Master Moon, his program and his staff. read more

My three kids started Tae Kwon Do in November 2015. I joined them in August 2016 because I was so impressed with the program. At 40 years old and quite overweight, this was a little intimidating but I was supported and treated well. They made me feel so comfortable. Master Moon and his staff genuinely care about my family and how they are doing. They are always professional and supportive. The staff have worked with my children on some struggles with behavior and confidence in school. In my opinion, this is above and beyond what you would expect but it is so obvious how much they actually care. I spent a substantial amount of time researching martial arts facilities prior to joining and found that Master Moons was the best. The curriculum and program they run is leaps and bounds above any I have looked at. The quality of all the instructors is amazing. My children love having junior instructors to look up to and aspire one day to be a junior instructors. Taekwondo changed my life nearly twenty years ago, and I knew it would do the same for my children. My children have both benefited - in ways they each needed. My daughter, as a middle child and stubborn five year old needed a bit of structure and some humbling. My son, as the oldest of three siblings, only boy and perfectionist needed something he knew had rigid routines, expectations and goals. They have both excelled and gained strength, confidence, voice, and most importantly, a noticeable level of awareness of the world around them and respect for it, and all of the diversity it brings. My son speaks up in school against other students who are misbehaving or intimidating others. He participates in classroom discussions more (whereas before he held back as his self confidence was a bit lacking even though he knew he knew the right answer or could add to the topic at hand). My daughter is better able to abide by expected rules and authority. They are both stronger, more balanced and coordinated. My two year old is not even enrolled yet but can count to twenty in Korean just from watching her big siblings at class. Martial arts are not all equal and not all gyms are equal. Master Moon's facility and staff are top notch. The gym is clean and perfectly maintained. The staff all have the same goals and respect for students of all ages. Their goal is simply this: to foster respect for self and others through martial arts training. They accomplish this, and they truly care about every child, teen and adult that walk through the door. I cannot wait until my smallest is in kindergarten, because not only will she be in taekwondo like her older siblings, but I will be as well. The Little Tigers program is wonderfully planned and the tips and belt progressions really motivate the little minds to focus for the next goal with each practice. The flexible schedule allows for us to fit other activities into our week and seasons with ease. Even though sometimes I'm driving to the gym 4x a week, no one in our family finds it to ever be on the chopping block for the schedule. TKD is at the top of our priority list as it is SO much more than 'just' martial arts. read more
