The stacks at the library are legendary and somewhat spooky late at night. I spent many a late night here at the last minute studying and writing papers. Library staff are friendly and helpful and you can find nearly anything you need here. There is also an online database to help with searching and most items can be found digitally now. If you don't know or can't find something - be sure to ask the staff, they're happy to help and will save you a lot of time bc this place is huge.

Gift shop has lots of books on Virginia history, some by local authors. Quite a few value-priced used books also! Restrooms were clean and there were a few places to sit. It's about 3 large steps to enter the museum, then 6-7 steps down to the exhibit, or there is an elevator. The suggested donation is $10, but it is pay what you can. Support local!

Afterward you enter a room with a felt art wall where you can exercise your creativity. Great for kids and even better for me. I made a surfing girl. It was the highlight of my visit. Other notable features of this museum include garments worn and weapons used during the time period. Other knickknacks were also on display like old school flasks. The museum was not very large but you could still spend a chunk of time there of you enjoy reading about history. The museum ends where it began, in the gift shop. The lady at the front desk said it gets busier on rainy days. I think there was only two other people there during my visit.

Which is one of the old "bluestone" buildings on the main quad. It's in the "old" or original part of campus and is very pretty and right in the middle of everything. Classrooms are not large but instead are small and intimate when you reach the higher levels of your major and specific study. Great staff.

They are all very responsible and caring kind and committed to students and teaching and health safety and always very devoted to keeping updated on things Weather related and or traffic etc and the staff always are positive happy hard working and so sweet and very wonderful. We've been in the college hunt since our daughter started her junior year this year. Have visited…read morequite a few Virginia schools, small ones and big ones. This school tour/orientation BLEW our socks off! Easily went to the #1 spot for her and us. From the attendant at the parking garage to their awesome grounds, everything was fantastic. The inbrief was very well orchestrated. You could tell a lot of time and effort went into making sure we understood what the school stands for and how proud each of them are of being DUKE! The campus is breathtaking enriched in history. Our ambassador Matt Rowe (tour guide) was top notch! He's right with 22,000 students this big school, definitely has a small school vibe. Great job JMU!

Anyway I shall have to Carrie the load for this review since my friend who usually writes them for me is off trying his hand at being a Fisher man. So it's a beautiful underrated mountain city hidden away in the Blue Ridge of Virginia. Most famous for being the home of James Madison University, but now also famous for J Petal. One location is in Brooklyn and the other is right here and it has absolutely delicious Crepes and drinks and other Asian Delights. Now I have to go and shave my eldest. Nobody wants to have a Hairy son - bleurgh.
