I have had many massages before, by both male and female and at various parlors. I will not be returning to Massage Bliss and I rate them 1 star simply because it's the lowest I can select. Upon arriving, I was greeted by two very catty females that kept giving me glances as if I was beneath them. The front area is very dark and gives the vibe that your in the waiting room at the dentist, not a relaxing spa. My boyfriend and I were scheduled for a couples massage and after filling out the paperwork we were escorted back to two men, whom I thought were day laborers installing the flooring. Turns out they were the therapists and had just been working on the floors. A red flag went up in my mind because I did not want my body to be touched by hands that were just exposed to chemicals, building material, and who knows what else, from the ripping up of old flooring. It was very unprofessional to see the remodeling in progress, which was only a hallway and entryway so I don't understand why they didn't perform those services on a day when they were closed, out of the customers eye. As my boyfriend and I went into our room the two males told us who was going to be placed where and they told us they would start face down. From the moment we met these two guys, they were very awkward and plain weird. My initial vibe told me to just pack up and go because I didn't particularity want this guy massaging me, but my boyfriend has been asking for a massage and we had already drove 40 minutes to get there so I kept quiet and we got into position. My boyfriend said his massage was okay, but nothing special. He said his therapist kept getting his genitals super close to his head and spent most of the time just applying pressure and leaving his hand in that spot for the majority of the massage. We agreed that our "massages" were more like "pokes" as that is how my therapist treated me as well. I understand poking and working on certain areas to target tension, but taking your finger and basically stabbing an area over and over is not ideal for a massage. There are other ways to work out a tension ball in a relaxing manner. On top of the poking, my therapist even cut me with his nail. The worst part of all was his constant heavy breathing and weird noises he made. Not only was he a mouth breather so I could smell his breath and whatever he ate beforehand, the noises and grunts he made were too much for me to even achieve a state of relaxation. I felt on edge and as if I needed to guard my undressed body with him. I have never felt this way before at any other parlor so it was very unnerving, especially since I was paying money to have a massage and relax, rather than be on edge the whole time. At certain parts me therapist even sat on my table with me, which was unprofessional because I had to scoot over to give him room.
I don't believe massage oil was used, as it felt like he was using unscented lotion. This made it to where I felt like I was getting skin burn from the lack of lubrication. My boyfriend and I both requested full body massages but we never got much more than our backs and things massaged. They never massaged our arms, nothing on the front side of us, heads, and barely our feet. I feel like 55 minutes was spent on our backs and 5 minutes was spent wrapping our feet in damp towels that were warm for about 30 seconds and then got so cold and wet feeling that I kicked mine off. The whole experience has defiantly made me shun this place and I will never return. Even though these guys were supposed to be therapists, I have honestly gotten better massages from myself just reaching back over my neck and grasping my shoulders for a quick squeeze and massage. If I could give zero stars I would. To reflect that, I will not recommend this parlor to anyone, no matter how cheap they advertise, no matter if you use a groupon or not. Go someone else.. save your time, money, and avoid the awkwardness. read more
