It's an easy place to meet, and the current landlord is really making improvements - heater outside, quiz machine, and food I have heard good things about. There is also a range of theme nights, including music, quiz and special occasions. I had the odd experience of trying to order a bottle of red wine to be told they had none, only by the glass. Although this struck me as odd for a pub that takes pride in its food, they soon came up with a carafe, and all was well. If you are travelling up the A15, and need dinner, I'd give this place a look in.

Being a building which used to be the Greengrocers as well means it always has that extra bit of history, the menu has lots of diverse dishes and if you'd like anything extra the staff are always more than willing to help. Completely different from the lunchtime calm, Fridays and Saturdays are lively and (on the whole) friendly. The beer garden is large and has good heaters, and the variety of decoration creates various different moods inside - mirrors, traditional and leopard print are all catered for. Open until 1am on these nights. This pub could truly hold its own anywhere.
