Kent's Masonic Temple is the former home of historical town figure Marvin Kent and family and current home of many ghosts (if local legend is to be believed,) the local Freemason's chapter, and some community events.
I've been DYING to see the inside of this place for a while so I was delighted to hear they were hosting a monthly flea market this summer. The interior is lovely and awesome as one may expect. There are several rooms on the first floor including the kitchen, the Orange room, the Pie room (totally misnamed sincerely there were zero pies) and a grand staircase leading upstairs which is closed off for events.
I believe it is available for private and community functions and would be a lovely and impressive space for a party or gathering. To rent the space you just have to get permission from the Worshipful Master, pay a deposit fee, and there is no alcohol allowed ever. (I read this on a sign.) ;)
I hope to be back for the flea and perhaps sometime for a tour so I can see those upper floors. I've heard tours here are a a thing but I don't know how to get hooked up with one! read more
