Talk about fine city dining in a small town! One of the newest restaurants, and it shows in the appeal of ambiance and atmosphere. The staff was SUPER polite and very attentive, our party would like to say a special thank-you to our hostess Shishma [sp?] who made us feel very welcome, and went above and beyond to make our 4-year old dinner guest feel welcome too. I would like to note that Masala's is not your typical 'family' restaurant [no booths, very classy, etc], and we were a little apprehensive taking a child along, but the concern was completely unnecessary the staff was warm & conscientious which made the dining experience all the more worthwhile.
The food was spectacular. Most often when people try new food from different cultures the complaints are about how spicy everything is. As a spice lover I was impressed by the subtle mingling and diversity of flavours without being overwhelming.
The portions were perfectly sized, generous, but not so much so that you can't finish your meal, and the cost was definitely affordable & well worth it [compared to other local restaurants]. There was a HUGE selection on the menu, from vegetarian to western-friendly to authentic Indian cuisine; almost anyone could eat there and find something they would enjoy.
If i could give 6 stars I would, this place is a must if you're in Dryden Ontario. read more
