It is clear how much thought and care goes into the curriculum, which is both engaging and developmentally appropriate. The play-based approach, small class sizes, and consistent structure create an environment where children feel safe, confident, and excited to learn. What stands out most is the strong sense of community. Stepping Stones genuinely feels like a family. The teachers take the time to know each child as an individual and communicate thoughtfully with parents, which has made such a difference for us. Our son has a speech delay, and since starting at Stepping Stones, we have seen remarkable growth. He is saying so many new words, engaging more with peers, and absolutely loves going to school. I wanted to do a follow up; after 2 wonderful years, my daughter now attends kindergarten. I think this school does an amazing job at handling bullying. Very dedicated teachers and staff. The school could do a better job at challenging fast learners, but a happy kid is better than a stressed out brainiac. I generally think the Montessori approach is great, I appreciate that teachers really get to know the kids who spend three years in their class, and I respect their expertise. However, they can be very insistent on that they know what is best for your child even if you sense otherwise. I've felt like this is partly because it is hard to make adjustments beyond the standard framework when there are close to 30 kids in a class. I sympathize with the teachers work load, but still wish they'd be more open to other opinions. The achievement gap is very concerning, especially since the Montessori approach is based on the idea that kids are motivated to learn and teachers guide them. One cause of achievement gaps is that teachers have lower expectations for minority children due to implicit/subconscious. Since teacher expectations play a big role in Montessori education, the effect of any implicit bias would be magnified and negatively effect the education of minority children. So, if you are considering this school, you should ask what they are doing to address the achievement gap. Seems like some schools make successful efforts to reduce the achievement gap, while others pass it off as insurmountable.

It was telling that as she prepared for finals that one of her friends that she used to turn to when she had questions now came to her with questions as she prepared for her final exam. I have no doubt that the school year would have ended very differently if it had not been for Varsity Tutors.

It would let me go through all the steps and confirm yet it was never changed and then on top of that, my son who is 11 years old and doesn't always remember things as well as he should, forgot to attend a session and they charged me for that missed session in addition to what you already pay with which is a large fee every month. Will not use them again. Then, finally when I tried to provide them with feedback in their app, it would not accept my feedback that's interesting so you obviously don't want feedback. You just have that button there just for kick shits, and giggles.
