Our family has used the services of Dolfi Funeral Home for multiple generations. They handled my…read moregrandmother's funeral, my mother's funeral, and my sister's cremation (we did not have a funeral for her), in addition to the funerals of many great aunts & uncles, cousins, etc., in my extended family. Just today I called to ask them to handle the cremation of two other kinds of family members - my fur babies, my cats who passed recently - and even though it may cost them a sale, they told me it would save me money to take my cats to the crematorium they would be taking them to. Even when I told them my budget was more than they would be charging me, they still offered me the option to hold onto some of my money. Who gives you that much consistent great service? They treat you like family. When my mom's treatments for a terminal cancer were found to be failing, and I went to them to begin her plans, they had thought of everything, including coordinating with her church, and ordering the meal after her funeral mass. She had some special requests where music was concerned, and I had a CD with that music, which they let play in the background throughout her wake. Afterwards, I gave the cd to one of their employees, as I no longer needed it. He told me how much he enjoyed it. Everyone tries to make you feel comfortable at the worst moment of your life. I know that this is the role funeral homes play, but Dolfi's has been doing this for at least 2 generations. Donna Dolfi was a warm & caring person, and she passed that onto her son, Eric. When my younger sister died in a tragic house fire, and my dad's family & the Red Cross paid for her cremation, they gave us a discount because of the emergency situation. They had inexpensive but elegant urn designs we could easily afford. They retrieved her jewelry from the coroner for her children to hold onto. It's the little things like this that make losing a loved one - whether it's expected after a lengthy illness, or suddenly in a tragic accident - a little easier to deal with.

He and his staff exhibited exceptional customer service and were friendly and knowledgeable in answering all of our questions. Navigating the complexities of a funeral and other associated activities (death certificates, obituary, etc.) is always a challenge, but Dolfi made it a lot easier to deal with everything. I am overwhelmed with the level of professionalism and genuine care that we received. Also, the home is absolutely beautiful and the service was well organized. I'm so glad that we placed our trust in Dolfi.

He listened to our wishes, guided us through the almost impossible maze of paperwork and preparations from beginning to end. The amazing folks who work there were extremely professional, caring and helpful beyond words. Jerome W Shell Funeral Home is truly a cut above the rest. We will always refer family and friends their way. You absolutely cannot go wrong choosing Shell when it matters the most. Melissa W.

Jason made the process incredibly seamless during what was/is a difficult time in my family's life. He was very compassionate, kind, empathetic, and he even delivered a message to my dad when he picked him up after I made one small request. He was very knowledgeable in (and understanding of) muslim burial customs, something even I am not knowledgeable in. Thank you Jason for bringing my dad to his resting place, delivering my message to him, and for making the process easier during a time when everything else feels difficult.

I connected with them on Facebook.. Last week, a much more deep and personal need arose, with the passing of our dear mother. The normal thing to do would've been to call the funeral home that has provided care to our family for generations. However, when the question was asked, the name that came out of my mouth was "Smith's". I won't say that I didn't waffle inside of my head, but after my brothers and I met with Jason, we were reassured that we made the right decision. Jason and Cathy are the epitome of a perfect team. They were patient (and boy was their patience tested with me) and kind, forthright and accomodating. I know our momma was so proud of the care that she received. I, personally, felt an overpowering sense of family. On the day of the funeral, I prepared a touching and accurate eulogy. However, technology and I weren't working so well together over the last couple days. I had to decide whether to forego my personal eulogy to my mother or wing it. Jason snapped me out of my emotions and told me to trust him, speak from the heart and don't sweat the small stuff. I didn't remember everything I had written but I feel like I was able to appropriately convey what my mother meant to us. As with any service provider, any of the local funeral homes could care for your loved one, but none will care for your loved one like Cathy and Jason. It wasn't a business contract, it was family taking care of family. I rarely, if ever, give a 5 star rating, because rarely is anything perfect. Our experience with Jason and Cathy was nothing less than perfect. There wasn't a request that they couldn't accommodate. There is nothing they couldn't/wouldn't do. Their chocolate lab (comfort companion), Coco, adds to the atmosphere of family with our mother being the center of attention. I would ask, do you want a service or do you want a family experience? We made the right choice.
