The service was absolutely incredible. Checked on us once we got our food. Refilled our drinks promptly. The restaurant was decorated like we were in Marrakesh even down to the music. It's not as small as it looks from the outside. It's actually quite big. They actually have a section in the back for parties if you need.

Had lunch here for the first time yesterday. Was greeted as soon as I walked in. Adam was my waiter and very sweet and checked on me often. I went with the chicken kabob lunch. Chicken was very tender. Was perfect amount of good. Place is decorated nicely. Seems to get pretty busy around noon. Bathroom was clean as well. Next time I'm in the area I would for sure come here again.

Came here with a few friends for dinner before we headed out for a movie. Grabbed a couple beers before dinner and enjoyed a chick peas and cheese appetizer. The server was friendly and patient with everyone's questions. Had the chicken with rice for dinner and was not disappointed. The inside was chill with the bar centrally located in the restaurant. All in all a good time and good food. Thank you!

Upon entering, this establishment was bursting with vibrant and stunning antique decor in every corner. Our bartender Jen was so kind and attentive, explaining any new or unfamiliar traditional dishes. I went for a small plate dining experience so I ordered a variety of appetizers because *try em all til ya try em all!* The baba ghanouj, falafel, tabouleh, cucumber salad, couscous salad, lollipop lamb chops, goat cheese with pita, spanakopita, grape leaves with ground beef... fantastic and bursting with rich flavor all around. The MVP of the night was hands down the $3 dessert baklava with crushed pistachios. I am still dreaming about that one.

If you're looking for a perfect spot with efficient service and nice vibes, this is the place! The food was so good, present well, and of course was very affordable. A meal for a party of 4 with appetizers was less than $50. I highly recommend Marrakesh.

Tahini salad

Went with my boyfriend and his family for dinner, and the food was fantastic! The hummus was delicious (I am known for hating it), the spinach sleeve took a bit to come out but it was well worth it! My boyfriend and I shared the ultimate meat platter and oh. my. goodness. It was amazing!! The salmon was my favorite, it had a wonderful crust but wasn't overcooked, and the rice was so flavorful! It had sautéed peppers and onions that were soft but not mushy, and my Island Cooler drink was so refreshing and beautiful! A kind man who I believe was the owner was walking around, and is the one who seated us, and our two servers were lovely as well!

beef shawarma

We got overcharged? The prices on the menu did not match the prices on the receipt. This was very disappointing. I ordered a baklava for $3 off the menu and was charged $4. I asked for extra sauce because the beef shawarma was so dry and got charged for that without the waitress letting me know it was going to be an up charge. The 3 meat platter had 3 pieces of meat per the meat you chose. So a total of 9 chunks of meat for $23. The rice was really good and the appetizer we ordered the spinach sleeve was great as well. The olive oil was authentic olive oil which was a surprise. The baklava wasn't worth the $4 seemed a bit old and not fresh. Pros: Food was well seasoned & had lots of flavor, food came out fast, accurate order, good service. Cons: Prices from menu didn't match our receipt... beef shawarma was very chewy and dry, small portion for the 3 meat platter i'd expect way more for that price.

This fine establishment was recommended by my friend. Polite welcoming service. Delicious flavors and decent portions for the money. I would definitely stop in again if I am in town again.

Enjoying our Sangria Margarita!

Well, I'm finally writing a review after several visits over the last couple years. Not sure why I…read morehaven't until now. Somewhat unassuming restaurant at a strip mall in Swansboro. As soon as you walk in you can see the kitchen and prep counter with the menu right above it. Order at the counter and pick up at the other end when your pager goes off. We kept it simple and ordered the lamb gyro, seasoned fries, drink, and hummus appetizer. We just had waters, but they offer wine, beer, sodas, bottled water, and some other drinks. Fairly simple, but good size menu with plenty of options. There are plenty of seating options with tables, booths, and outdoor tables as well. While we were waiting and eating there were several to go orders. Steady flow of customers in and out. They also have a great music selection! After a short wait our delicious gyros arrived. The presentation was nothing flashy, but good. The fires were seasoned just right for me, but a little too salty for the wife. The gyros were as expected, delicious and a good size for us. The hummus plate was actually larger than expected, but a nice surprise. There was enough naan for sure. I did not take any pics this time. Overall experience was excellent honestly. We'll definitely eat here again. I recommend giving Olea Mediterranean Kitchen a try.

Their main focus is on fresh halal meat and seafood and Middle Eastern products. Eventually the owner plans to start a bakery and dine-in restaurant. They just started having fresh produce today, including kale, cabbage, corn on the cob, squash, tomatoes, limes. Packaged pita bread, individually packaged halva sweets, and bulk nuts, green almonds, and Egyptian dukkah spice are available. Other products are a little bit of everything, including Latin foods, canned goods, kitchenware, syria soap, beans, rice (Egyptian, Basmati, etc), spices, dates, snacks, tea, turkish coffee. Some of the frozen/refrigerated foods include smoked herring, bacon, biscuits, falafel, grated soursop, melted chocolate, mac and cheese with langoustine, Norwegian salmon, sausages, calamari, gelato, Turkish bagels, gyro slices, samosas, kebab, chicken patties, Lahmajun bread, lavash, plain paratha, frozen veggies and herbs including Okra, molokhia herb, broad beans, baklava, kunefe, cheeses. Shelf products include Ghee ($8.99 for 14 oz), Tahini sesame paste ($5.99 for 16 oz or $8.99 for 32 oz or $21.99 for eight pounds), Egyptian rice, basmati rice, different flours like chickpea, almond, cassava, coconut, whole wheat, Jareesh (crushed wheat), cauliflower rice, small packaged noodles, lupini beans, jarred pacaya, vermicelli, basbousa boxed mix. There are a lot of different and interesting spices, such as Chinese pine nuts, dried limes, mahshi spice, lebanese spices (shawarma, kibby, sumac, kafta, ouzi), yemeni hot chili pepper, black roasted onions, yemen spice, Zaatar, as well as Karkaday Egyptian Hibiscus tea flowers. I tried this pastry made from Karen bakery in New Jersey, warmed up in the oven for about 15 minutes at 350°. It was plain, but very good-flaky and buttery. The bread would go perfect with tea for an afternoon snack or small breakfast meal. Also tried frozen falafel (Ziyad brand) and baked it, even though it called for deep frying (trying to be healthy you know). They were cute little circular shaped falafel, about 1.75 in diameter and about half an inch thick. Although I prefer a ball shaped size, it did have good flavor. If there's a product you're looking for and they don't have it, the owner is willing to see if he can get it for you. I look forward to coming back when the bakery and restaurant opens. Side note: ask permission if you want to take any pictures. The owner was not happy or friendly towards me taking close up pictures of his products while browsing the store, regardless of the reason. I didn't have the greatest shopping experience. So if you want to try to remember the name of the product, best to write it down on a notepad instead of taking a picture. But then again, he might not like that either.

It had snowed that particular week, so not sure if it was quiet because of that, because there was only one other customer in the restaurant. The place is quite plain and noticeably sparse. I shared a Bateeni Sampler with a co-worker. My thoughts - Hummus and Babaghanouj were quite good. - Falafel had a lot more sesame than I normally see, which I liked - Tabbouleh was very fresh - Grape leaves and cabbage salad was OK Despite being very quiet, the food took a long time to prepare. I would say it probably took 15-20 minutes, which seemed very long. Server was nice enough, but there was definitely some miscommunication between the front and back because we ordered a few items to go too, so we waited around 5-10 minutes to find out what we wanted wasn't available. There was some difficulties with refunding what we prepaid, so we ended up taking other food as a substitute. Overall, food was fine, but service had a lot of room for improvement.
