This corner store had lots of stuff that we would usually find in a Dollar Tree back in the States or a Job Lot / Big Lot type store, The items were cheap and the selection was large...from leather bags to safety pins.... Stop at any of these and get stuff that you might just need for a temporary need.

It is an emporium flogging bags, textiles necklaces, scarves, hats, flasks, notebooks, umbrellas, slippers, ceramic mugs (with peculiar rubber lids (for tea & coffee or hot choccy) all stocked in abundance. These places teem down with novelties most of them that I wouldn't need in two lifetimes. The stuff isn't overpriced per se but it's cheap made. Think of China, India and similar that roll out wares by the mega ship load. We've been in about 10 so far and the only odd one out, only because in has a cafe within, is in Sintra, a wonderful historic Portuguese town. It has a huge castle literally miles up on top of a mountain enveloped in a huge national park. It's even hilly inside the castle built in the 1500's. This one is Cadiz and is our latest first time visit or should I say hop. Hop into Hop. Moobe. This chain sure is popular, servers are enthusiastic and welcoming and we've been into their stores over at least six countries in the last few months from Cadiz, Southern Spain, to Europe's most northerly capital, Reykjavík, Iceland.

You know you travel excessively when you can't even remember if you have been to a city or not... Highlights and things to do in Cadiz; see other Yelp reviews: Torre Tavira, many markets (Mercado Central, etc), plazas, many churches (Catedral de Cadiz, etc), many "beaches" (Playa La Caleta, etc), many museums, castles and forts, Teatro Romano... and many many more. Other highlights that we did NOT have time to visit: Yacimiento Arqueológico Gadir and other parks. Ambiance - Almost 7400 sq km. 1.25m population. Cádiz, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Western Europe, was founded by the Phoenicians as a trading post. Cádiz is an ancient port city in the Andalucia region of southwestern Spain. The home of the Spanish Navy, the port boomed in the 16th-century as a base for exploration and trade. It has more than 100 watchtowers, including the iconic Torre Tavira, which was traditionally used for spotting ships. On the waterfront is the domed, 18th-century Cádiz Cathedral, featuring baroque and neoclassical elements. The city's strategic location and its role in trade with the Americas significantly shaped its development, particularly during the 18th and 19th century. Cadiz was effectively the capital of "free Spain" during the Napoleonic Wars (Peninsular War) when Napoleon tried to invade. The Peninsular War, a major part of the Napoleonic Wars, was fought in Spain and Portugal from 1808 to 1814. It pitted France against Spain, Portugal, and Great Britain, and is notable for its brutal guerrilla warfare. There is a lot of history here. The Cadiz cruise port is conveniently located very close to the city center, making it easy for passengers to explore the historic town. It's a short walk, approximately 5-10 minutes, from the port to the heart of Cádiz. As you can see from my pics and videos we arrived at the Cadiz cruise port. We boarded our tour bus to the Bodegas Gonzalez Byass Winery including a sherry and port wine tasting. More to come regarding the Bodegas Gonzalez Byass Winery tour.

CASH ONLY!!!!! CASH ONLY!!!!! CASH ONLY!!!!! It was unusual to me to be told we had to pay for a 20€ International Cell Plan in cash, but that's what happened. I saw a c-card machine sitting on a desk, so IDK why we were told this? If there was a minimum purchase, it wasn't explained. This "cash only" news was a trend at many places in Spain, and while I realize they have higher taxes on c-card purchases, it would be more honest to post your policy on the door or at the register. As much as the ladies here were sweet and helpful, and deserve 5 stars, I have to follow my rule of taking a star off for stores that don't take c-cards. This store is conveniently located in the old town part of Cadiz, near all the good shopping!
