This man was so disrespectful and extremely uneducated on mental illness disorders. I was…read moretransferred to DR.bates from my pediatric therapist to continue ADHD medication treatment since I had turned 18 and wasn't attending college. This mans advice to my struggles with ADHD were to "try harder" and it was documented in my medical notes that I was given an ultimatum to do better and try harder or not be treated for my ADHD anymore just because I didn't have a driver's license and I wasn't in college at 19 years old. This man still works at the same office and somehow still sees patients. This mans medical gaslighting caused me to give up on my treatment for ADHD and I have paid for that dearly over the years but I am finally trying to get help again.

My wife just called Dr. Bates office and tried to call in a prescription. The lady who my wife…read morespoke to (unfortunately didn't get her name)was very much in a hurry, very quick and stern with her responses and couldn't get my wife off the phone quick enough. She didn't ask where to send the prescription, so where was she going to send it? My wife had to phonetically tell her the medication name as she couldn't understand her. She obviously, was listening to my wife's accent vs the WORDS she was speaking. It's not like people in TN don't have accents! Some people shouldn't interact with the public, as they lack listening skills, customer service skills, patience, and empathy.

I had a colonoscopy on 2/26/2026. When I was brought back, people seemed nice. I woke up to someone…read moretrying to put my shirt on. I Tried to help but they were in such a hurry they wouldn't let me. They stood over me very impatiently while I put my pants and shoes on. While buttoning my pants they pushed my hands away and did it for me, even though I told them I would do it myself. They put my wallet in a bag and handed it to me. I took it out to put it my pocket. My wallet and keys always go in my pocket to avoid losing them. It's a habit I developed many years ago. She took it out of my hand and put It back in the bag. I took it back out and tried again. She grabbed it again and put it in the bag. They then put me in the wheelchair to wheel my to my ride outside. Then I got my wallet out of the bag again and tried to put it in my pocket. As we went through the exit door she snatched the wallet out of my hand and said; " You are stubborn aren't you!". My neighbor, (who was in his truck in front of us at that time), waiting for me saw her snatch the wallet. I'm a 71 year old man very fit and with it. I'm not used to being treated and spoken to like a child. But I was barely awake. These people were rude and in a rush. They were not the same nice people that checked my in. I have since spoken to two other people who had similar experiences. I have been going there for almost 20 years and never experienced anything like that.
