Marlin Bank is the worst bank we have ever worked with. We have clearly paid our bills on time. We provided proof from our bank that the payment was sent out and it arrived two days before the due date. Despite proof from our bank them that it was sent, they claimed that they did not get it. This was over July 4th weekend...so I am not sure if they processed it late due to the holiday, because they had staff out on vacation or what. They still insist that we were late and charged us a late fee. They cannot provide us with any proof that they received it late. Also, they told us that they can only waived late fees once in a 12 month period and I told them I had not been late in the last 12 months. The last time we were late was over two years ago, hence why I set up the automatic payments to prevent us from being late. They show no proof of us being late, but claimed that they waived it. This is the worst company to work with. Don't ever sign any contract with them. I can't wait until our contract is up for our lease equipment. Yet, they had recently sent me a pre-approval letter recently to get a loan from them. DO NOT WORK with them! You will be charge late fees despite showing proof that your payment was paid ON TIME! Apparently, this is a known issue...check out Google reviews online. Sad to see the same type of reviews...and sad that they scam so many people of this issue. They will also be hearing from my vendor on this, because we will be sure that they know about them so they do not use this bank for any of their future customers. read more

I actually had a really amazing experience with Marlin Leasing. The company I work for went through Marlin for our copier for several years. On occasion, I got the payment in late and when the next bill arrived with a late fee, I called and explained what happened and it would be removed. Eventually, our equipment people decided to go with another leasing company. Our lease with Marlin had not yet expired so our new leasing company paid us the remaining amount due Marlin and we continued to pay Marlin for the duration of the lease even though the Marlin copier was stored away. Our Marlin representative told us that final instructions on disposition of the equipment would be emailed to our manager in charge when the lease was officially up. The representative did, in fact, follow through on his promise; however, our manager who was overseeing this process left our employ in the interim so the email from Marlin went to a defunct email address; as a consequence, we continued to pay our lease for almost three years on equipment that was moth-balled in our storage closet. When we finally realized what happened, I called Marlin and spoke with a man named Brian Gellis. While Marlin had every right to play hard ball, Mr. Gellis was very accommodating and understanding and we not only got the equipment back without incident but he also saw to it that our lease payments for those three years were refunded! I can't tell you how surprised and appreciative everyone here was with the outcome. When our current lease is up, we are probably going back to Marlin. read more

Kathy Dempster and Thelma Diaz-Castro are the best representatives ever. They are so knowledgeable and proficient and just very nice ladies. I appreciate speaking with them regarding my 2 accounts with you guys. I had a issue trying to set up account on auto pay and Thelma walked me through the process stayed on phone the whole time and when it did not work she directed me to IT department. Thelma called IT department for me and keep in contact with me regarding status of auto pay and this went on for about 45 days. I feel she went above and beyond her duty. I called and spoke to Kathy and all the same treatment all over again. I was so amazed at the quality of their professionalism. After that I spoke to Briana there Supervisor and here again blown away. I was manager of a call center for over 7 years and I have been in this industry for over 20 years so I know good people when I hear them. Your employees are the best and I wish you all the best. I have done business with Marlin on several occasions. I have found every person I've encountered to be upfront, courteous and genuinely caring about my business. We are very small (no employees just family owned and operated) and we have never felt like we didn't matter. From my sales rep Jennifer Grisolia to the the different account managers I've worked with the past 2 years (Angela D and Annette Hawkins) I get top notch service. These ladies have repeatedly gone above and beyond for my company. I think if more folks took the time to share the good that is Marlin, their rating would be much higher. However we are a society who are rarely as fast to recognize the good as we are the disappointments. If you are considering Marlin for your business financing needs, I give them 2 enthusiastic thumbs up! I can't speak as to why my experience was so different then some of the reviews, I can only tell you I will use them again should the need arise without hesitation based on the level of service I have received and continue to receive. read more

This review is specifically for account manager Amanda Shiko. I had Marlin for several copiers for years. I did switch to another company for various reasons, and as my contracts came due I followed Marlin's instructions and contract to the letter. The problem was they kept billing me even after I had paid off and returned the equipment. Since I had four contracts on the same account invoice, my payments were being incorrectly applied. I sent emails, made phone calls, send certified mail all explaining what was wrong on the account for about 8 months. Until Amanda called one day to discuss the past due charges. I explained everything to her as I had done to many others before. The difference was Amanda actually cares. She took the time to go through my account and everything I sent her, and was able to finally correct all the charges, and even get me back a credit for an over payment. I work for the Harrington Park Library in northern, N.J. We use Marlin Capital Solutions for financing our copier over a five year lease term. We have used Marlin for our previous copier also, so we have ten years experience with Marlin. This morning I contacted Insurance Services and spoke with Susan Walker Carpenter to determine if she received our insurance coverage and in speaking with her she offered to sign me up for a My Marlin account. Susan could have easily transferred me to Customer Service but she didn't. We had some glitches with setting it up, but throughout the whole time, Susan kept at it to the point of contacting me several times by phone. I could not believe she stuck with it until it was resolved. I deal with a lot of vendors but have not come across many who would stick with you until problem is resolved, walks you through the process and was so friendly and patient. I was having issues setting up online payment. The bank had incorrectly entered the FED ID # and made it my responsibility to fix it, even though it was THEIR MISTAKE. This caused issues with my ability to make payments in a timely manner, as the mail deliver as of late is horrible. So after having sent out the a late payment, I had someone in collections calling me. After hearing my complaint, Patty Cardis, stepped in and took care of my problem in two hours. I had been trying to resolve this issue resolved since April. She took care of it in two hours, yes, I am impressed. Make no mistake about it, THE FIVE STAR RATING IS FOR PATTY CARDIS, Account Manager. I still think the Customer Service department is a joke! When my eq rep showed me the lease options with Marlin along with some other companies Marlin was the best deals. I picked what I thot was the best lease option Marlin offered based on what My eq rep showed. The lease paperwork "all online" went smoothly and quickly. thru the whole lease timeframe only had to call or email with Marlin a couple times but it was smooth helpful. What I didn't realize was my eq rep and I was confused, and I didn't obviously read the agreement properly before I signed, because the buyout on the lease was way different than I expected. I called and emailed with customer service and ended up talking with Brian Gillis, he was super helpful and understanding and very responsive. He shows great compassion. He worked with me to get us to a workable solution, he didn't have to, and this shows he and Marlin really do care about people. Yes, I would do business with Marlin again. read more

Hi, I would like to share my experience with you guys on how I got a loan to pay the duty tax of my bank draft and to start up a new business. I was at the verge of loosing all my belongings due to the bank draft I took to offset some bills and some personal needs. I became so desperate and began to seek for funds at all means. I've been having issues with paying early on my accounts. Today I had the same issue. Called customer service and was on hold for 7 minutes (not to bad) Customer Service Specialist Lisa Avellino proceeds to answer all my questions as best she can, we get discounted and wait for it.... Yes she called me right back and together we agreed along with her manager that the payment for the accounts were definitely not posting correctly. Honestly can't say enough good things about speaking with Lisa Avellino - Customer Service Specialist today. Very knowledgeable, professional and just overall a pleasure to talk too. In 1973, my wife and I signed the papers to purchase the stock of a small typography (typesetting) company in downtown Seattle. Over the years we have had numerous (too many to list) leases. Our first major one was for $120,000 in 1978 for the purchase of computerized typesetting equipment. Over the years, we have had many experiences with various local and national leasing companies We ended up with Marlin Financial for the leasing of digital printers. What a bunch of crooks! I would never do business with these people again. They could care less about you, as money and greed is what drives them. My local printing company set me up with a lease on a new printer with Marlin. It has been a nightmare. I wouldn't surprise me to see the executives brought up on charges and go to jail. Manipulation is their skill set. Warning, if you want to do business with a company that has integrity this is definitely not the one for you. I called to see what my buyout is, and it is just a few hundred dollars off the amount I would pay for the life of the lease. I would just love to give a big shout out too Danelle Batista, she as well as (Patti) are the BEST ASSET'S this company has working for them. They have gone above and beyond to help us out as much as was within their power to help us out I should say. I will give them a hundred Stars if I could. With that said it's a shame that my account manager Max Wilder could not be of any assistance at all!!!! Those two ladies should get part of his paycheck if not all of it. Every time I have called to speak with him to try to get our issues resolved I get told by him personally but he can't help me because he wasn't the manager of our account when it first got started 3 weeks prior to him calling and introducing himself to us. Owning a school has been one of the hardest challenges during this coronavirus that we are facing. It has been one of the most frustrating and challenging times as a business owner. I have to say that Brittney McNeal with marlin has been wonderful helping answer questions through email and phone promptly helping to get caught up on payments to celebrating with me after receiving assistance to pay off the contract. The feeling of knowing that a company doesn't just want your money but there are real humans on the other end of the phone who want what's best for the customers. Using this bank I had a great experience. The bills came on time and was easy to pay. I had a bad experience with Spectrum Voip which was the merchant I was using and Marlin leasing was willing to work with me even though Spectrum Voip did not provide working service and was not going release my contract. Antoinette was amazing and she helped me figure this out for 4 months they tried to get Spectrum Voip to release the contract Sharon was great also she helped me settle the contract. I would say that Marlin was great but they do need to review the companies they are lending money to because they (Spectrum Voip) didn't care that their product worked they already had their money. Everyone understands that problems can come up with online financial services...and I had been experiencing a looong list of problems with Marlin's online payment services...nothing was working right from password, to login name,etc. I called the customer service phone number in a state of frustration and wasn't happy. But when Moe, customer service specialist came on, she was a breath of fresh air...she knew exactly what to say and how to help and even went above and beyond and made sure I was logging in and she made sure things were made right. This review is coming from a VENDOR perspective. We previously used Marlin for our office equipment financing and have ceased doing so entirely for many reasons. This company has "pass the buck" down to a fine art. Everything is always someone else's problem and whoever you get on the phone conveniently doesn't know anything. As a vendor it is UNACCEPTABLE for it to take upwards of a WEEK to get a phone call back from my sales rep (especially when their voice-mail is updated daily with the current day and date). Poor, poor business practices and from the multitude of customer complaints as we shift away from this company, I have come to believe the customer has it even worse than we do. read more
