The home seems well built but the finish work is terrible. Corner molding that sticks out half inch from the corner, missed calking, water leaks and so on. Do not buy the ceramic siding, it's beautiful but they install it with gaps so the wasps love getting under it, also very brittle so as the house settles the siding cracks. Difficult to determine the value since the costs keep going up and dealers are not responsive to get things fixed. read more

Worked there for a bit. let me just start out by saying anything that comes out of the Hermiston location is hot trash. houses are built out of cardboard. Everything we would build would be rushed. There is no passion with the craftsmanship and it's honestly just a money grab. One day a worker dropped a bag of coke and somehow still stayed hired. on the other hand people would be fired for refusing to do overtime. Some of the managers are straight up trash and stand around with their hands in their pockets. Issues i have seen are Bad insulation electrical issue's Poor craftsmanship of cabinets.. they fall apart after a month or 2 Tile gout in electrical boxes Gaps in siding lol overall if your looking to basically light your money on fire and give it to a shitty company then they are right for you read more

We got our home about 5 years ago. The craftsmanship is really shoddy and the materials used are beyond cheap. The tile work was covered in grout, up to a half inch thick in places, that had to be ground off. One large piece of tile work had a giant bow in it and had to be redone. We paid extra for whole house tv and internet, which is just a bunch of wires hanging out of the wall of the linen closet. The wiring under the house looks like a rats nest. We have been told that if we open up the under house sealing to fix anything it voids the warranty entirely. The only option is to pay someone to completely redo the wiring. Until we can afford it we have to run everything off a single WiFi modem. The heating system in most of the house barely works while 2 other rooms get super hot. The bathroom is extremely cold because they left giant holes where all the plumbing enters. This has also allowed tons of mice to enter every room which have been a nightmare. We couldn't even get the company install crew to finish the install let alone come back to do the warranty work. Within two years the kitchen cabinet doors started falling off, glass has fallen out of a cabinet door, as well as trim and tile pieces. One bathroom door was installed wrong and won't latch. A carpenter told us that the only way to fix it is to install a new jam. There is the same problem on the sliding door screen that won't latch or lock. Their expensive "10 year carpeting" was unraveling and coming apart within 3 years. There's cracks in the drywall in several rooms and all need patched. The dishwasher and microwave died. The eco low flush toilets had to be replaced because they didn't work properly. The plumbing won't drain properly in 2 bathrooms and the plumber said it's partially because there's no vents on the pipes. There's a hole in the side of one bathtub because the cheap tub they used is paper thin. The whole house attic crawl space fan system doesn't work properly because mold has come through the drywall and is growing on the master bath ceiling. The smoke detectors go off frequently with no fire or smoke present and I don't trust them to work if there was an actual fire. Do NOT buy from this company. They don't manufacture to any reasonable standard and they don't back up their warranty on their products. We are stuck with a house that's crumbling down around us and nothing we can do but keep pouring money into the black hole it has become. read more

We ordered a Marlette Home in Early 2015. We were under the impression that they were the gold standard in manufactured homes. We paid extra to have some modifications made to our triple wide house. The house was delivered to our property in NW Washington State and set up with a local contactor with the addition of a garage. The house appeared to be nice but I noticed a few things that concerned me. There did not appear to be an attention to detail and craftsmanship. An example of this is the drawers were attached to the front with random staples, which over time will begin to separate, especially with heavy items, like silverware. I added screws to the drawers to reinforce them. The cabinet doors were attached to the cabinets with coarse thread screws. Over time, the doors started to loosen and I replaced them with longer fine thread screws. Last year water damage appeared in the guest room bathroom. We contacted Marlette Warranty support about this and were told the five year warranty had expired. We sent paperwork that indicated we did not take possession until after the setup was complete and the sent two guys from Oregon to repair it. They did a good job and told us that the vent above the bathroom was not properly sealed. At the same time we noticed three areas in the floor that were sagging. We were told by the techs that it was the result of improper fastening on the floor during construction. We asked the warranty folks if this could be repaired but they said the techs were needed elsewhere. We will have to repair this on our own. We noticed some water damage on a wooden part of the roof. We called three local roofers and everyone was consistent in their assessment. The reason for the water damage was there was no overhang of the asphalt shingles. Accepted practice and building codes require an approximately 1.5 inch overhang. The reason for this overhang is to let rainwater flow off the roof. Marlette installed the roof shingles with no overhang. We were told this configuration allows water to wick under the shingle and cause water damage. Also, each roofer mentioned that the roof was poorly installed with numerous exposed nails and improperly installed shingles. I asked if these problems were at the marriage lines of the three units. They said no, it was the factory installation. We contacted the warranty department and we were told the warrant had expired. We are retired and on a fixed income and are looking at a roof replacement 15 or 20 years earlier than planned. Should you choose to buy a Marlette home I suggest you have a separate home inspector familiar with manufactured homes look at the house. The factory will send their guy for the final inspection but that may not be in your best interest. read more

I custom ordered my home in 2013. My Marlette home has always had problems. Walk through at sale ALL molding on the cabinets were falling off. Huge hole n the floor under the carpet where the house joins together. NONE of the electrical outlets were wired right and were constantly loosing power and heating to the point of almost causing a fire. I have paid people to come in and rewire everything. Most the time the light above the shower in master bedroom will not work. NOW the plumbing if falling apart. The pipes to the hot water heater are cheep and plastic fittings. Constantly causing leaks. I was sold a home that was "built for Wyoming elements" NOT!!!! read more

We sold our home in Aug 2016....custom ordered a Marlette home...delivery was quicker than expected but craftsmanship was really poor. We had quite the list of pickup items to have addressed. They did take care of many of the items but getting ahold of our customer service rep was daunting and she seemed to drop off the face of the earth. Never returned our calls and we finally gave up getting problems fixed. We are now planning on selling this home and moving....plan to order another manufactured home but we wont be going with Marlette. read more

In 2017, we bought a used Marlette home that was still under warranty after only six months. There were a lot of issues, including the roof, which was done improperly. First, Marlette told us they didn't have to honor the warranty due to the sale (not true under WA law). Then they said the roof met HUD standards (it didn't per WA Dept. of Labor and Industries). They sent someone out one time to fix several things, and most were not repaired--including a leak under the house. We'd call customer service and no one ever returned our multiple calls or emails. After a couple months of this nonsense, we finally hired a roofing contractor who said the entire ridge of the roof as well as the valleys were done improperly. This cost $8000--not to mention the cost of other repairs. We finally hired an attorney, and Marlette reimbursed us. Marlette's customer service is non-existent. read more

From day 1, our Marlette home has given us nothing but problems. The drain in the guest shower was leaking out the bottom of the home, the kitchen had a leak, the wiring in the living room was a total mess... although that can be blamed on the setup team who are not Marlette employees, they're trained by Marlette. And then yesterday, the big bombshell. My wife's vacuuming in the utility room and notices some water on the floor with rust in it right by the furnace. On further inspection, there's mold growing in the drywall there and in the storage closet next to the furnace. She gets me to investigate it, and it turns out that there's a condensate drain from the furnace that's leaking into the furnace, which then dripped out onto the floor. The drywall, being hung all the way to the floor (not 1/2" up as is standard practice for this very reason) was soaking up all the water and starting to come apart. The molding was also going spongy and was (pun intended) molding as well. The furnace manufacturer is Intertherm. I suggest you also look up that name, from what I've seen in, their furnaces have a 20% satisfaction rating. Trash. Don't get a mobile home. You might think you're saving money, but you're going to end up blowing it all in high blood pressure medicine. Your health and comfort is just not worth it. Get a built-in-place home. read more
