I would definitely recommend a stop at this place when visiting the city of Bremen. I stopped by for lunch one Saturday and greatly enjoyed my experience. There are lots of places to sit and gather throughout the main floor. Be sure to walk through the whole place before deciding on something to eat. Some stalls feel hidden or can be easily overlooked. I decided on Mezze & Liebe, the Turkish-Arabic stall that smelled heavenly as I walked by. I ordered a tamir roll with falafel, which came out hot and fast. It was delicious, and well priced too. I had no issues finding a table and enjoyed the buzz of other groups around me while I ate my meal. Their "free wifi" did not work, and I did not get a chance to see their bathrooms (though I saw signs). Over all though, this is a great spot to visit when wandering Breman's Altstadt! read more

I used to live in Bremen but this place wasn't there when I was. It's a very cute little market hall with a decent selection of food stands. We were there between lunch and dinner on a Saturday and it wasn't crowded at all. After perusing all the options, I needed to try the Lu & Su vegan ice cream. You choose the flavor and he carefully mixes your choice and cuts them into rolled strips. Part of the experience is the preparation. I selected the menu item called Mr. Lu. To clarify, he asked me, "The green one?" That was a good way to describe it because it had matcha and fresh mint. Like really fresh...he picked it off the mint plant on the counter. It was really good and not too sweet. The consistency was a little thicker than ice cream but that's the experience. There was plenty of seating and natural light. On a recent visit to Bremen we found ourselves just outside Markthalle Acht around lunchtime. As our group consisted of vegans, vegetarians, omnivores, and kids, we decided this would be a good place where everyone could find something to eat. It's a bit like a mall food court, with many different food options. I really appreciate that it's not a bunch of the same food but instead that there's really a big choice: pizza, Mexican, tapas, Korean, burgers, etc. There was indoor seating which we didn't want to use because COVID, so we opted for a table outdoors. I'm really happy that they have spots outside reserved for Markthalle visitors. I didn't really explore anything else (other than a visit to the bathroom -- which was bathed in a blue light???) so I don't know what else is in the Markthalle, but if you're looking for a bite to eat with a lot of options, it's a pretty OK choice. read more
