I contacted Nationwide our insurance company days afterwards. Shortly there after a sub-contracting adjuster review my home and I was told that our roof was "fine" and he requested that I try and powerwash my damaged siding. Questing the adjuster I contacted several trusted local roofing contractors for an inspection. Upon their inspection they pointed out to me the "clear as the nose on your face" damage to the roof. I contacted Nationwide once aging. This time the second sub-contracting adjuster say " oh thats not damage, thats the decorations in the roof". I contacted Nationwide once again with my frustrations. They send out a third sub-contracting adjuster and was told "oh yes there is damage but that must be your roofing contractor trying to scam you". Every roofing contractor has consistently confirmed roof damage, but all three of Nationwide's adjusters have given us completely differing stories. Along with the questionable adjusters, the central office has been just as frustrating, we have almost never been able to talk to the same person twice, multiple phone staff working together and did not know what the other was doing or even know who the other co-worker was, continually promising that "we will take care if it". At the end of my rope I contacted our agent Steve Diederich. He was more than willing to stop out and review our situation. At that time he review our damaged siding but was unable to climb on the roof and viewed a small area and said he agrees with the third adjuster that there are questionable spots. Steve promised that he would "look into it" and get back to me. I have sent Steve several emails and phone calls since December 13th 2014,but to my disappointment he has not followed up as promised. I have been faithfully Nationwide customer for many years and shocked by the poor treatment and un-professionalism at a time when we needed them the most. I would seriously consider looking elsewhere when purchasing your insurance.

The first couple months the automatic payments were not going through. I contacted my bank, and they issued me a new card and notified all businesses that were using the automatic payments of the change including State Farm. I thought the payment issues with State Farm were resolved until the day my car received damages from hail. I went online to file a claim and noticed that my policy had lapsed that day because of non-payment. Even though I had signed up for automatic payments, and they had my current card information on file, I later found out that I had to "authorize" payments. What upsets me is that when I tried to call my agent, whom I never can get a hold of, I was told that they had let me know via email. I check my email about once a month. My contact of choice is by phone, which I told my agent when I first signed up. I never received a text and not ONE courtesy call about the lapse. What kind of agent allows that to happen? I have insurance for a reason. To be insured! I am disappointed with my agent, with State Farm in general and the fact they let that one-day lapse affect my coverage. I paid on April 4th, but coverage was not reinstated until the next day. If I were to walk into the agent's office, my policy would have been reinstated at once upon payment. Why would my online payment not be effective? I regret ever leaving my previous insurance company for what became the worst service I have ever experienced from State Farm.
