Wow! I am speechless. The rice I ate here stole the show but I'm getting ahead of myself here. I…read morewanted to go here based on recommendations yesterday but I couldn't get in. And I tried using my phone to make the reservation but I finally gave up and went inside the establishment to make the reservations for today at 8:30pm local time. I'm an American Puerto Rican/Guatemalan in Portugal, specifically Porto. First time in Portugal second day I'm here. Nice R&B Jazz playing on the speakers. Nice atmosphere to bring a date. Wine is displayed so I can see the bottles where I'm sitting. I'm here alone but I still felt comfortable eating here. Very clean with white table cloths. So the three things that were outstanding were the ribs, the rice, and the dessert with raspberry sorbet. Wow!! Just wow! This is what happens when you eat at a five star restaurant. Don't know if they are or aren't but I was happy to pay whatever they asked for and I'm still here waiting on the check. The only thing that went wrong was that I ordered the port with the dessert and I did not wait. Unfortunately, one bite of it, and I completely forgot the pairing of wine I ordered. By the time the waiter came back with wine, it was too late. I finished the whole thing!!! No self control. Oops. Learn from me people, wait on the wine before trying the desert. That being said, I also had the house red wine which went well with main meal. The meal here is so good, I'm ordering the mushroom risotto as well to go. So I began this adventure with chestnut and mushroom soup. This really is an appetizer. I wanted more but they wisely kept me wanting more. I love mushrooms and I've never had a soup made with chestnuts before. Great start. Then I had the main dish of ribs matured for 30 days. I must confess, I don't normally eat at fine restaurants so imagine my surprise when I saw these ribs individually cut and red in the middle. Sorry not sorry, I'm a medium rare/rare kind of guys when it comes to steak but this is the first time I saw the ribs so well done flavored and not burnt. You can actually taste the meat and the chimichurri sauce complemented the ribs perfectly. First time eating ribs and using utensils . Meat was mostly off the bone. Magnificent! Flavors were all Amazing. I can't recommend this enough. Unfortunately, this evaluation is being posted late. I thought it was posted much earlier. The rice was so good and I suspect that somehow, someone learned about "Pegoow" or Puerto Rican sticky rice. This is the leftover sticky rice. We sometimes fight over this as kids. Now some amazing chef in Porto has taken that concept and turned that into the main rice you see here! Absolutely stole the show!! I haven't thought about this experience in months but I remember the rice and this meal. It was so good. Good thing I'm checking my drafts. Loved being in Portugal. Can't believe how long it has been. October 2025 is what my pictures say and I'm only posting this now?! So much has happened. I blink and it is now May 2026. Opps. Overseas is a whole other level I never experienced and if I have, I'm old enough to have forgotten .
