Great follow through! Went here while visiting Stillwater and found cute necklaces for my…read moreteenagers and my wife. They didn't have the "initial letter" that each needed. No problem says Wooden Nickel we will contact you once we have them in stock. Honestly, we have all heard that before, but sure enough, 10 days later we received a text and an email that said that they were ready to go. Went to the attached invoice, paid using ApplePay, and received a text that afternoon that they had already taken them to the post office to mail! We will be back in Stillwater often and will be shopping here lots!

This is one of my favorite boutiques in all of Oklahoma. While it is on the pricey side, which is…read morewhy I mostly window-shopped during my time as a poor college student at OSU, now as an alumni I love to come in on football weekends and pick up some cute orange gear as well as browse the excellent NorthFace selection that is frequently carried in smaller sizes than other shops. The main reason for my 5-star rating is due to the level of service that I received with my latest purchase. During the coldest Bedlam game I have ever experienced, I stopped in looking for the warmest coat I could find. I found a great (and not cheap) puffy NorthFace jacket that I purchased and carried with me until the game started. Unfortunately when I put it on, I noticed several small slits at the bottom of the jacket where the stuffing was coming out. At the end of the game, we brought the jacket back and they offered to personally take the jacket to their NorthFace rep in Dallas to be either repaired or replaced under the NorthFace warranty. Unfortunately after inspection, the NorthFace rep could not help as it was apparently a burn and not a tear (which I am sure I did at some point when walking through numerous tailgates with heaters blazing). Nonetheless, the store manager offered to have it repaired at their tailor at no cost to me, and even had it shipped to my house in Tulsa! I greatly appreciated the level of service that I often do not experience at other retailers these days and plan to continue shopping at The Wooden Nickel in the future.

*Review is for the Pioneer Woman Mercantile Shop, which I think is around the corner from the…read morerestaurant... not the same thing (though the restaurant does also have a small shopping area, so it's confusing)* This was a lot smaller than I was expecting. Hearing people talk about it as a fun little day-trip or place to find stuff, I thought there would be more to it. But it really wasn't a whole lot bigger than a boutique in a mall. We kept thinking "are we missing something??". They sell some home decor, mostly kitchen things, and some women's clothing. Some of the clothes were cute, but overall the style of most things seemed a bit too mature for me (though a few things I saw were exceptions). And then some of the clothes just had WAY too much pattern for me, like two or three completely different/ clashing floral patterns on one shirt. I guess that's just the Pioneer Woman style. I'm sure some can pull it off. We did end up getting some cute elastic waisted black pants with lace at the bottom for my Grandma. We thought those were cute!! The vast majority of the kitchen stuff you can find at Walmart anyway, since the Pioneer Woman's line is there now. Other than the small size of the shop, that was probably the most surprising -- that there really wasn't even that much more product than what's already at Walmart...... so then, if they aren't going to offer an expanded line or many more additional products, what's the point of going? Staff was very kind and bathrooms were actually kept pretty clean. We went in there two different times in the day (both mid to late afternoon / early evening) and neither time was it very busy. So not a bad spot but mostly, I just don't really see the point. Please let me know if we've missed something (I'm not trying to be funny), because I'm just left confused about what's so interesting about even making a trip to come see the Pioneer Woman stuff if that's truly all it is (I do know that you can tour her ranch or something, but I feel like people talk about the shopping part so I don't know...). Is there in fact a bigger store that we somehow missed?

Cute, affordable clothing of excellent quality, shoes, bags, jewelry, skincare...shall I go on? Shopping here, though, frees me from walking around town noticing that everyone else is wearing my very outfit. I prefer to leave that kind of business to the department store shoppers. Venturing all the way to the back of the shop brings you to the perfect place for primping, preening, and maybe even a refreshing, whole, new look! The business is a family affair where even the gentle, chocolate lab greets you personally! Stop in and say hello. You won't be disappointed!!

They worked quickly and our styles were absolutely beautiful. I appreciated that for my hair (bride), Jamie made it look exactly like my "inspiration" photo. The bridesmaids' curls were still beautiful at the end of our reception 12 hours later. Our makeup looked beautiful, glamorous, and complimented each person's features. They personalized the makeup to what each person wanted. During the months leading up to the wedding, Jamie was always extremely responsive to texts, which was much appreciated. She squeezed an additional person in last-minute due to her being stood up by another stylist! They allowed us to bring brunch to the salon to eat while we got ready! In summary, I cannot recommend these ladies highly enough. They provided an excellent experience from start to finish.
