Had I known about the price for the hotel/hostel, I probably would have chosen that option. 1) The place operates as cash only 2) They offer breakfast but that begins at 8:00am. 3) To get to the place, take the U7 to Holzhauser Strasse; take either bus X33 or 133 in the direction of Rathaus and pay attention to the bus' stop info and get off at Gartenfeld 4) The driveway (Gartenfelder) is not paved and not lighted 5) Yes the location is near Tegel airport but the flights stop after 11:00 pm, oh and within zone B (for your bus ticket, pass) 6) The bathrooms are super clean and the shower water VERY HOT.

She was, to say the least, quite bitchy. We found that the swimming area in the lake was very small, so we went up to reception at the front gate and asked her if they had other beaches. Her answer was "No, that's the only one we have. This is not Wansee." She seemed constantly annoyed for some reason; why they would let a sourpuss work in a leisure facility as a frontliner is beyond my understanding. The restaurant is pretty decent with nice food and large portion. If you have small bladder and stay in a tent, it might be a hassle to go back and forth to the toilet which is in the caravan area.
