" Colorful, Different, Friendly, Educational " My wife and I visited the Marina in Horta, Portugal and was a bit surprised at how much time you can spend here viewing all of the paintings and seeing where everyone who has visited Horta was from and when they visited. The Marina was very busy, with boats coming in and going out all the time. The people who are docked in the Marina are very friendly and interesting to talk with. Boats from all over the world are docked at the Marina. Lots of restaurants and shopping areas are very close to the Marina. It was nice taking the time to go through the Marina and explore the many paintings on the ground and walls of the Marina harbour. Each painting can tell a different story of people that have sailed to the island.Thousands of sailors who sailed single handedly or with crews across the Atlantic stopped here and made their mark at Horta harbour. It was very interesting to take a stroll and read all about the sailors from different countries. This is a Must see attraction in Horta, Portugal ! read more
