The venue is intimate (no bad seats) and comfortable (cup holders for your drinks at your seat!). The staff is friendly and helpful. There's no dedicated bar, and you have to wait in line at the bar in the adjoining restaurant.

Although those who have seen the official Broadway production might say otherwise, I thought the performance was wonderfully executed- of course, it's easy to be amazed by how the actors handle the puppets. Half an hour in, I forgot there were even actors behind the the puppets! One piece of advice... RUN for the restroom during intermission if you plan on making it before intermission is over... there's only three stalls for the entire theatre.

They meet Fridays at one of the hotels downtown. No sweat, the hotel clerk told us to just come get a drink at the bar and enjoy the show. My wife and I had a lot of fun! The show was fun and elegant. If you're able to, it's not a bad idea to pay the $25 for the ticket to reserve a table, but if they are all already reserved - just coming to the bar to enjoy the show is perfectly fine too (and easier in some ways since you can leave at your leisure). Great group in NOLA! Highly recommended if you like burlesque.

Roads between here and there were easy to find and navigate. Once here, parking was easy as there were spots in their designated lot as well as out front. As a neighbor, I'm excited about this space and I hope to see more shows here. As and old theatre major, my only comments are for the building owner. The space itself didn't do the actors any favors. The audience and the actors should never mix until the show is over. When you allow the audience to see behind the curtain you've just taken the magic away. They need a private space to become their characters. They deserve working mics and lastly a clean space. As a start up, it cost nothing to clean dirty fans over the stage, to replace moldy ceiling tiles and whom ever ran the lighting should never be allowed in a theatre space again. The purpose of the drop ceiling is to hide all those cords. It was a major distraction and an insult to the performers. The waiting area a hazard. Move the bar from the box office. Allow guests to enter a clean flowing space and provide a waiting area with seats for the elderly and handicap. A wall needs to be built to provide a space area for the actors to prepare. I'd suggest actor bios in the playbill, we like to know their stories. The waiting area should be filled with info on upcoming shows and resident actors info. The show was amazing despite the space. The staff across the board was amazing. 2 gallons of epoxy floor paint would do wonders. The seating was 50/50. Tight and tough for a 3 hour show. Lastly. The tickets for a cast of that size in a community theatre should start at 45 dollars each once the building it cleaned and some changes made. I loved it and I'll be back!

It was first established in a garage space in 2000 to serve as an alternative to the Main Auditorium on campus, which is not readily available to the school's theatre students. The space has a small stage & backstage area, concessions stand, & basic stage lighting & sound system. At this time I'm the facility manager/drama faculty, & since 2014 we've had regular programming such as a student drama showcase in the fall, & a fully-produced play every spring. (These are distinct from the non-EJ theatre events that frequently occur in the Main Auditorium.) The space is modest, needs some upgrades, & is even a little rough but we've produce high-quality work by exceptionally talented students for low ticket prices. I think this alternative name was to try to make folks forget they were going to a school. I'm not sure what the Jafa bit is about. And for a HS based theater it's really pretty good. It has good sound and is pretty large (seats 1500 people). I've seen broadway shows and operas and kid performances in this theater. (As an aside if you're ever invited to see the musical Titanic, don't. Oh so boring.) Once upon a time, I even auditioned here...only because my friend wanted to. The parking is alongside the length of the school and do not block driveways on the surrounding streets because residents have tow trucks on speed dial. It's definitely still open since I just saw a listing for performance happening later this month.
